The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

I ordered the food around 11:45 they accepted my order around 12 its 1:34 pm now and I still don't have my food :(

This was my first visit to Nimmi. It was lovely to see a menu that is different to the usual offerings from Indian restaurants. It was really hard to choose because of the excellent and interesting range of dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The staff were lovely. Friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be going again.

NEVER AGAIN Well, where do I start. I thought I would order me and my partner food from here on her birthday. When calling up, the chap on the other line couldn’t understand what I was asking. Then I wanted to pay by card, we went through it twice and he was obviously getting my details wrong as it was declining so I thought I would save him the trouble and go get the cash out. CALL ENDS. 1 hour and 20 later, the food arrives by a man who tells me he doesn’t know how much the food is. I tell him, they told me it was 31 pound but here have 33 for good gesture. (Bearing in mind I used to love saffron) We tuck in, and it seems to be going well, I get to the bottom of my Jalfrezi and I find a big chunk of sharp metal in my food. I chip my tooth. My partner says I should let them know but I didn’t want to cause fuss. But I thought I would let them know, so when I call they become very dismissive and not one sorry just an enjoy your night. The next day, I get a call back. And it’s the guy who originally took my order; and is shouting the phone at me as if I’m playing a game and I’m making it up. So instead of actually apologising and saying won’t happen again, they blame me! And yelling that I didn’t pay, and that I need to clear my bill. Once I told him I had a ring doorbell his tune changed. I feel he was doing this to disregard anything I was saying about the metal I found. Horrible horrible people. This was my favourite place and I’m quite frankly heartbroken. I’m going to trading standards to seek advice.

I Eat onsite every week. Love the food and staff. Best Indian food in Ipswich and Kesgrave. Keep up the good work.

I have been here many times and celebrated with family and friends on special occasions. The staff always make you feel welcome, and nothing is too much trouble that you may ask for. I would definitely recommend it, and the food is excellent value for money on a Sunday and Tuesday. Thank you to all the staff for making me and my sister's birthdays 🎂 an enjoyable evening.

Amazing food. I was there with a large group for dinner and we had the group menu. Wonderful selection of really tasty dishes. And the staff also were really friendly and helpful.

We recently ordered takeout from Rose of India, hoping for a delicious Indian meal, but sadly, it was a complete disappointment. The flavors were far from what we expected, and overall, the experience was very underwhelming. We ordered the prawn kurma, which ended up being the biggest letdown. The dish had an overwhelmingly sweet flavor that tasted completely artificial. It was so off-putting that we could barely eat it. The sweetness overpowered everything, making it impossible to enjoy the prawns or any of the other spices that should have been in the dish. We also tried the chicken Malayan, but unfortunately, it didn't fare much better. The flavors were bland and lacked the richness that we usually associate with Indian cuisine. We won’t order from this restaurant again.

This has got to be one of the worst Indian Food I have ever had. The food was of poor quality, no authenticity in taste and received food which was not fresh and partially cold. There was inadequate service, thought the waiter was nice which was the only highlight of the night. Non existent atmosphere. This was a real put off, wasted my money and time. A terrible experience, My wife came home and puked her food and I god a tummy ache as well.

Only rating the takeaway service. Would give zero if possible. 3 of 6 dishes wrong. 2 of 6 stone cold (chicken), 2 of 6 barely warm. On calling to complain, only received excuses, no apology. They reluctantly offered part refund, which they never actually gave. DO NOT USE THIS TAKEAWAY. The restaurant was OK when previously used but we will never visit again and are advising all friends/work colleagues to avoid
