Incredible food, lamb is very tender

although late we understand it’s a saturday night it’s bound to be busy!! still definitely worth the wait and always the go to indian in harwich😋

Just about the most tasteless Indian meal I have ever eaten , even the naan bread seemed liked it had been re cooked. We used the Joi a few weeks ago and the food was really good and tasty, but tonight we wish we’d had something else, basically I expect much better for my my money £38 is not a small price for a takeout

No side salad with onion bajjees. Mains nice with good portions. Naan breads cold. Delivery driver totally inexperienced. Had many a Delivery in the past. Unfortunately driver tonight had no clue. Ended up running down the street with our food despite spending over 10 mins on the phone giving further directions. Don't believe he had a sat nav as otherwise would have brought him straight here. Ruined the the food for us as totally stressed out by the time it arrived. Would look elsewhere.

Delivered 30 minutes later than orginally stated, took 1 hour 30 minutes total, food was cold, instead of a cheese nan was given a normal nan, chips were soggy and overal the food didnt taste very good. Very disappointed.

Great friendly staff. We visit at least twice every month and always have really nice food and staff happy to recommend dishes to try, my favourite is the chicken Taj Mahal. Being able to bring your own alcoholic drink means it a very reasonable priced night out.

Overall food was lovely but tandoori chicken was quite dry

Wonderfully tasty take away. Our visitors from USA, who are fussy eaters were well impressed. Staff are friendly and the food was beautifully cooked. We'll have no hesitation in ordering again from Joi.

The food was really good and very friendly staff also the owner came over to talk to us. We were the only people in there so were a bit dubious whether we were not going to have a good experience. The food was really good served to us by a really nice waiter. The only thing was the lighting it was so bright especially a large central light with led bulbs in it. When the owner came over to see if everything was ok I mentioned he must get his lighting right it’s far too bright. He turned down the spit light to a better light also turned off the central light which was so much better. I recommended some tea lights which he agreed to use. It’s worth a visit the food was good and delightful staff.

Utterly brilliant. The waiters recommendation “Taj Mahal” was absolutely amazing. I would eat here every week if it was closer to me. The best curry I’ve ever had, I would go that far. It’s brilliant.

Stale, in a word! Bombay alloo dry and hard, lamb dry and hard, onion bhjai reheated and burnt hard, popadoms stale, I think they were having a clear out, straight in the bin😟

Myself and my wife went on a Saturday for a meal and I have to say what a fantastic meal it was,they do a dish called taj mahal,I had the lamb one(they also do a chicken one)and I have to say it is one of the tastiest curry’s I’ve ever had,it was glorious.They don’t have an alcohol licence but you can take your own with you.Will definitely be back soon.

Forgot the poppadoms I ordered

Food was warm, not hot! And had spilt all over the delivery bag. There was sauce everywhere that had come out of the container

Somosa pastry too think and just tasted of oil. Masala didn’t have much flavour, gutted as usually really enjoy, expensive to not enjoy today

Great food and service yet again.

Popped in here as had a couple of hours wait for the ferry. It's conveniently situated very close to Dovercourt station, just three minutes from Harwich International. It was Thursday evening at 7pm and the place was empty. Not a good sign. I needn't had worried as the food however was tremendous. I ordered a dish I had not seen before, a Chilli Daal Onion Bangar which was like an onion bhaji in a sauce. Next to that my usual Bridal Bhaji, and a chapati. The flavours were to die for with the Brinjal one of the best I have tasted, and believe me, I've had a few. Spoke to the very friendly head chef afterwards and gleaned some culinary tips from him! All in all highly recommended. PS no alcohol available, just take your own.

Superb as per Usual arrived piping hot freshly cooked,Chicken Tikka Naga Dansak is definitely my new go too dish as Vindaloo isn’t what it used to be! CTND hits the spot ,spicy enough to satisfy but not hot enough to overpower other flavours of accompanying dishes.highly recommended👍🏻👍🏻
