We normally leave superb reviews for this restaurant. Tonight unfortunately it was a bit off the masala was a different red colour instead of the usual orange and the chips were a bit soggy and not cooked too well. Like I say usually excellent, tonight just wasn’t very nice.

We had a lovely family meal here recently. Lovely food, all beautifully cooked and presented. Our eldest son said it’s the best curry he has ever eaten, and my youngest who is not so into spicy foods enjoyed a delicious kids meal which had the loveliest chips! My husband and I enjoyed our favourites and what I particularly like is the honey on the peshwari naan, so delicious 😋 . Kobir and his team give a warm welcome and are attentive to anything you need. It is now under the new management of Kobir, well worth a visit if you’ve never been or if not been for a while since the last owners I recommend you re visit as it’s lovely.

Get takeaway from here a few times a month, had about 20 now and everyone has been perfect, sat in the other week and more of the same couldn't find fault! If something isn't on the menu they will try and get it done for you which is what I liked as nothing is a problem! And it's not that expensive! Won't be changing curry house Any time soon

Never been to Southend before, which I found a strange and soulless town. Paradoxically, It's big but there is very little here apart from national retail and restaurant chains. Very few real ale pubs, Chinese and Indian restaurants, or gift shops. Moan over. On my first night went to Mawson's micro pub, so Ruchi's, which is on the other side of the road, was the obvious dining option. Had my usual Chicken vindaloo, fried rice, poppadom (no sauces), lager: bill £17. It was very nice, quite good value considering the Cobra bottle was huge, at least a pint, and at £5 was the most expensive item.
