Very tasty food. One of the best.

We ended up on Saturday night not even going in !,website states open at 4pm ,closed at 4.45 ,rang restaurant who told me they were open and 'what did I want 'shutters were still down .was then advised by more than one person that this restaurant had really gone downhill so we all went to the ashiana instead were we had a fantastic meal .bad attitude by rushi .wont last much longer I feel

8 person last minute booking. Decor was terrible and in drastic need for renovation. Blown paint on the walls with flaking paint hanging off, damp walls, old rusty lights missing bulbs, old food dirtied table cloths underneath the top ones which were dirty anyway. Our server got lots of things wrong, forgot items and dropped a full glass of coke on the floor narrowly missing us. Toilets were dirty, cold and hand drier didn't work. Tried to charge us almost double for ordering 4 popadoms but neglected to tell us they charged for the 2 lots of sauces they brought us without asking so got them to remove that, also charged a little extra for one of the meals so reversed that also, a couple of plates were laid out with little bits on them which the server picked off. The state of the kitchen didn't look good either from what we saw but didn't have a detailed look The actual food was pretty good to be fair though, tasted very nice but couldn't wait to get out and would certainly NOT go back again. It was an experience!

Where to start 🤣 I wanted to come here for a while but was put off by it's lack of customers. Today as a last minute big family booking decided to try. While the food was surprisingly nice, the rest wasn't and was laughable. The place was dirty! The tablecloths were filthy, one of ours even had double cloth which covered previous customers dirty stains. Waiter scraped food off my plate with his finger before handed it to me. We we're giving a bowl of ice 🤷 which my son played with...only for the waiter to remove from our table to give to another customer at different table! Waiter spilt drink all over my dil shoes. Toilets we're minging... definitely not cleaned like ever! We sat opposite a damp wall with paint peeling everywhere and mould! Light fittings were rusty, no bulbs in most with wires visible. Got charged for dips we didn't order and had to question the bill. If it wasn't for the fact that we all couldn't stop laughing at the disbelief of the place we would of left plus there was two tables of us and everywhere else was full. But we had a laugh 😂 even laughing at our shoes sticking to the greasy carpet on the way out...I kid u not!!

TRAVELED ALL THE WAY FROM LONDON , FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. KEEP IT UP . WILL DEFINITELY VISIT AGAIN .

Ordered 3 veg masalas and each dish had ONE bit of potato and barely any veg, was basically soup. The ‘curry’ was very watery too. Called up and complained and instead of giving us the refund we asked for they sent us ONE masala (which was exactly the same and had a single chunk of potato in) as ‘compensation’ for three dishes. Will not be using again.

Great food and really nice staff.

Very disappointing waited 2 hours for the order to be taken. Will not be going here every again. 0 out of 10 for every thing.

Very poor service, too slow, waited 2 hours and still no starter d6elivered despite being notified of a group of people attending. Never going there again cannot even give a star rating 0/10

Just ordered tandoori chicken ,prawn purée chicken looks like it’s been there for days and just heated up when I cut into it it was black I did not smell good had to throw it all away £30 on food what a waste rice was very stale

Food was great besides the lamb tikka, it was very tough. Besides that food was good and tasted really nice.

Where to start, from having to remind the servant three times to give me my £10 change back, the curry that was so watery and tasteless I wouldn’t give to my dog. Lamb was tougher than the calluses of the soles of my nans feet I wouldn’t recommend wasting you hard earned money. Had microwave meals better than I received tonight. Shocking

This is a very bad curry for me.... I've order chips, vindaloo, rice, x2 portions of onions b's, x2 Pupadoms & chipatta.. As you can see it's very very waterey.. It's not very edible... This food is very very bland.. I don't recommend this.. I'm sorry. I will not be coming again. The food is cold, the vindaloo has no spice... The onion b's are undercooked the food has no taste Photos shown

Just ordered a takeaway from Ruchi. Worst Indian I have ever had in my life. Just moved here from brick lane so believe me when I say I have had my fair share of curries. Ordered the lamb rogon, lamb not edible (feared it would take out my veneers) as it's as tough as old boots! Butter chicken (usually one of my favourites) which was supposed to be a speciality, one of the blandest things I've ever tasted. Mixing some precooked chicken and double cream from Tesco's would have had more flavour. Will not be eating here again and would advise steering clear of the place. Ashianas down the road from here knocks this place out the park!

Extremely good Indian food. Loved the Onion bhaji, Chicken curry & Chicken Biryani spicy one. Very friendly and professional staff 👍

One of the bad experiences ever I had faced. I came 30 minutes way to this ruchi Indian restaurant since there is no respect for the customers and demanding on customer about the order.worst experience ever.

I have been to this restaurant many times over the years, eating in and getting a takeaway. Never had a bed meal. The menu was changing when I last visited and some of the drinks on the menu were missing and a little limited if I'm honest. No cocktail drinks for my lady friends that were with me. Otherwise all good.

Floors are not clean unfortunately. Mint Sauce was clumpy, poppadums were bendy. Overall I would not come here again

Honestly, very ordinary. Meat hugely over cooked and sauces overwhelmed by food colouring and apparent indifference from chef re authenticity. Service was polite but food way below par. Avoid

We decided to go out for a meal only to find our usual indian was closed and decided to wander up Southchurch Road to see what else to eat and found that Ruchi was open We were a little unsure as it was completely empty at the time, but decided that if we didn't give it a go, we would never know and I'm SO glad we did. They suggested that we could bring our own drinks (spa next door was handy) that saved us money on our bill, but ultimately the food food was absolutely stunning, along with the perfect service with really lovely staff, attentive, helpful and the food was the best we have had for a long time. Definately will be going back and will now become the our preferred indian restaurant that we will go to. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Ordered 3 mint sauce, got 2 and it smelt/tasted of sour milk so we're thrown out. Onion bhaji were not crispy but absolutely full of fat, almost uneatable. Chicken in the curry was so tough we are giving it to the foxes.hopefully they have sharper teeth. A total waste of £20+ money and the tip.of £2.50. We will never order from them again.

I have eaten here a few times in the last few months and the food has always been delicious. It has been quiet on the times I have been in but I tend to eat dinner earlier than most. Still surprised though, with such good food at reasonable prices and the staff couldn't be more helpful. I'll definitely be back again.

My friend and I decided to go to Ruchi on a Wednesday evening and no booking was required to get a table for the two of us. The food here is good quality, tasty and is very good value for money as well. Recommended!

The food was really lovely but sadly the overall dining and service experience was a complete shambles. We was a party of 12 and apart from one other couple we was the only customers in the restaurant. There was a really long wait before our order was taken and when it arrived the waiter had difficulty identifying the different dishes and got several mixed up within the group. We was not told that there was no dessert menu and would have had starters had we have known. The bill arrived prior to even asking if tea/ coffee was required. Overall it looks a very nice restaurant from the outside but fails or failed badly on the night. There was no interaction about our food or requirements and on .more than one occasion we had to go and ask for things like glasses, dessert menu only to find there wasn't any etc. ,

I have just received a tikka masala and Peshwari naan. My food is completely cold I have just phoned the restaurant and they called me a liar and told me to take it up with just eat. Also my Naan bread broke up into pieces. And my pappadums were stale not Impressed do not order from here worse Indian around.

Nice food but they do not serve alcohol, which wasn't a problem for me or my friends but most people like a bottle of wine when having a meal.

I use Ruchi regularly epecially during lockdown., always excellent untill tonight 9th Feb 2021 I ordered a dry veg curry, ( niramish), got a wet veg curry only 3/4 full, consisting of one bit of potato and some onion. Not good enough. I will move elsewhere.

Everything I've had from Ruchi has been exceptional and their korma sauce is the best I've ever had. You won't be disappointed.

Had a short hair in my rice didn't look like face or head hair!! Food wasn't all that and was ill that night will not recommend!

Apuling... the first and last time I will get from here again. The Medium chicken curry had no flavour and a very small amount of chicken, the Korma was so sweet I binned it straight away and the rice portions were pathetic! AVOID!!!

The Lamb Tikka was incredible! Very friendly and clean staff. High Quality and Tasty food.

Very disappointed. Never had a takeaway . Been in the restaurant loads of times and really thought the takeaway would be the same quality. Flavour is good. Special biryani had in total 5 pieces of meat and done very small prawns . Chicken Madras had the same amount of meat . Nan breads cold . Waited hour half to arrive. I did call and was told it's sitting in the kitchen waiting for driver to come back .

My favourite Indian restaurant. I've been using this place for years. The staff are so friendly and polite, they can't do enough for you. And the food is amazing. I've had takeaways and eat-ins and I can honestly say, I have never had cause to complain. Would recommend.

Just had a takeaway the rice was freezing,the papadums were smashed to pieces and the onion Bhaji was more like salt bahji and we gave a tip,never ordering from there again

Valentines night took my wife had worst night ever saw 6 people walk out couldn't cope with all orders my starter was rock solid could not cut the meat my wife's starter was prawn puree instead of a chicken chat after an altercation they got our mains out in 7 minutes then got the bill full price no sign of any sort of discount for a regular customer for 6 years they tried to keep us quiet by putting a ten pound note in my pocket will never return hope this helps people with there choice of venue disgusted

Food is superb. The all you can eat buffet is great. Staff are warm and friendly, our kids love going there as do we. Also the best Indian takeaway in the area

Worst Indian restaurant in the country. If I had an option to give them 'no star' would have done so. The staff on Sunday buffet tried his level best to charge my 11 years old as an adult even though the signpost outside states under 12. He has no experience of customer service. Food quality was very poor. Should think twice before visiting this restaurant.

Missing food items, 7/8 piece of chicken in very watery curry. Ordered peshwari chicken which should come in creamy sauce..... The chicken was barely warm and the sauce wasn't sauce it was a thick congealed something - so congealed that I could tip the tub without anything falling out! Used to use ruchi regularly....last time we use them.

The worst ever food I had. It cannot be called Indian cuisine. It’s just fooling people. Service was terrible. I guess they need to attend cooking classes.

Just had a niramish biryani takeaway and I have to say it was the worst meal I have had in a long time. The vegetables were disgusting and it tasted like someone had tipped a hole pot of salt in to it. Very disappointed.

What a great time we all had for my birthday, so nice and nothing is to much for them when you asked for something. Also i would like to thank them for a wonderful young man that was servicing our table what a great guy to talk to.

We are vegetarians but that was the best meal ever. Well done we loved it x

The place was quite empty, very cold inside couldn't relax, lack of atmosphere. As for the food it was ok, I've had better. The staff tried to hard, over friendly when you just want to get on with your evening. Would I go back ? No not my kind of restaurant.

They never have sorbet and I would avoid the floater coffee at all costs but the Currys are second to none, staff are cool too

This place is good because food is good

Delivery took between 1 and a half to 2 hours to deliver once delivered no apology then looked disappointed at lack of tip - due to taking so long to deliver!!! Curry did not look or taste as it normally would was more like a stew in both presentation and taste. Naan tasted like it had been microwaved and bhaji were cold. Such a shame to receive no apology on complaint as loved here previously let's hope it's a one off however wary to try again.

Not sure what happened tonight but it took over an hour and half to deliver. Amazingly the food arrived 5 minutes after complaining but tasted uncharacteristically awful and cold. Basically they forgot the order and gave us leftovers. Won't be using again.

Try Tuesday buffet menu-relatively good quality and taste for a good price, drinks bit expensive but very friendly atmosphere👍

Clean, friendly, good value for money restaurant that provides you with excellent customer service. Food is always fantastic and flavourful even if you are eating in or ordering a takeaway. Have recommended Ruchi to many of my friends and family members over the years i have been visiting.

My son and his partner took me here today for my birthday lunch. We had a wonderful time, the place was spotles, the waiters were helpful and friendly, and the food as delicious. We all eventually had deserts, they both had the indian icecream which looked and tasted wonderful, but I opted for the lemon sorbet and it was fantastic. Thank you all for a lovely meal.

Absoloutly minging buffet. They put the new stuff right on top of the old stuff. Chicken was rubbish tastes like the buy 3 for £10 from farmfoods. Staff were miserable and dirty covered in curry stains. All the buffet pots were just dry sauce which they put the fresh straight onto. Id rather have a big mac then go here. the other half was puking up as soon as we got back to the hotel. DO NOT RECCOMEND

tried out Ruchi for the 1st time this evening everything was good until I found a hair embedded in my poppadom wasn't going to say anything but because we left the food on our plates (the hair was quite off putting) the waiter mentioned the charge for left over food so I showed him the hair... No apology or mention of it at all. Won't be returning.

Have been coming here regularly for a couple of years. Always great food with friendly staff and excellent value for money.

I cannot comment on service because I had a take away meal but the food was brilliant. Main dish is about £5 which is really cheap. Definitely worth to visit.
