One star hygiene rating ! How is that possible ?? Absolutely vile should be illegal to sell takeaway food in such dirty conditions

Food quality was good and delivered on time.

Hubbie and I came here again for the 3rd year in a row for Valentine’s Day and yet again it didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing, the service was 1st class and the owners are adorable people… we had a fantastic evening can’t wait to come back again next year thank you so much highly recommend xx

After poppadoms and pickles we both enjoyed a chicken main course with rice, Bombay aloo and the lightest garlic naan ever. Just delicious accompanied by a nice red. Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

Food arrived approximately 10/15 minutes after order. You could tell food wasn’t fresh and had been heated up. Chicken was hard and stringy, curry which is medium/hot was ridiculously hot, as if to cover up heated old food. The naan bread was over 50% burnt and not edible. In all the food was a very low standard.

Madras was ok, lots of sauce but a bit thin. Rice was good & plenty of it

Rude rude rude what can I say . Not sure who it was I spoke to but was no good at customer service . Asked me what my problem was . I said I’ll go someone else then and he said yea go on then . So rude didn’t want to help at all .

Ordered a Naga and the waiter laughed at me and said that women don’t usually order that and that it would be too spicy for me. Continued to laugh and repeated “are you sure?” I asked if he would ask the same question to a man and he said no. I explained that I’ve always loved hot food and the hotter the better. It made me feel really uncomfortable. When the food came; he said “don’t worry, this is medium heat” which lead me to believe that the recipe had been changed for me. I found this quite sexist. I was also given a half pint glass for my beer when my male partner was given a pint. I just think the restaurant should be more aware of sexism and not make assumptions on palate preference based on gender. Other than that it was a lovely meal and the food was great but we were sat next to a hygiene rating sign which literally had grey and brown fungus spreading across it.

delivery driver knocked then hardly waited for a response before knocking loudly again. did mot use the bell and wait for even a minute. driver was revving g engine also and not very friendly. food was bland and not very nice quality.

foods so bland and cold would NEVER order here again. All I can say it disappointed is an understatemen.

The flavours were lovely ordered lamb biryani and lamb jalfrezi if there was lamb bi there it was thinly sliced shame as was nice . Should have been advertised as vegetarian

ive ordered from here often always been my favourite but after last night i wont be back,my order was around £45 £6 on popadoms i forgot to order the sauces to go with them so i phoned the restaurant and asked if he could throw them in the bag he said only if i pay for them on the door i explained i had no cash the man on phone was extremely rude to me but did end up putting them in the order but when it came chicken extremely tough sauce was nice but no way worth the money

The food is always fresh, tasty and on time. My daughter loves the lamb curry. The only negative is the rice portion are quite small, but everything else is great .

New Indya is the best Indian restaurant near Southend-on-Sea. The food is fresh, spicy and delicious. I ordered the lamb bhuna and the paneer tikka. They were both tender and juicy. The service was friendly and efficient. This is the best Indian restaurant nearby.

Food out of this world so pleased to get a take away actually worth the money.

Not bad but not good either. Overall an average experience with little to complain about in terms of food (but I don't get why they don't serve alcohol but allow it to be brought onto the premises -leading us to order, go and get beer from the off-licence around the corner)

I keep ordering and trying new dishes each time I order and have enjoyed everything we've tried. Really tasty food, good portions, always on time and free stuff on occasion.

Great food taste is amazing only thing is that ask for mild to be cooked and do to hot put in notices but never read so that's why it's a 4 star very important to read the note people leave as could be some one who can't eat serton food

Bit of a mix up with delivery address which was totally my fault! When food did arrive it was hot and delicious will definitely be ordering again! Restaurant was totally understanding and driver happy with £10 pound tip.

They are not delivering food on time and there service is terrible. The delivered the food after 2 hours for 2.5 miles and the food is too cold to eat..I don’t recommend to order any food from here.

Really disappointed in the food, usually it’s great but tonight it was so salty that I couldn’t eat mine, so it ended up in the bin. my husbands was ok. I had a chicken tikka masala with pilau rice, which is what I always have. Very disappointing

The meal I ordered was dry and tasteless, not up to their usual standard, and so I will never order from them again.

Restaurant was really helpful arranging our dinner to ready ahead of schedule.

The meal was delivered almost 30 minutes after the original estimated timeslot without update nor apology. This was disappointing as we regularly order from this establishment and they are normally very reliable. The food was tasty enough but spoilt by being barely hot (and reheating by microwave is a recognised food hygiene risk). Let's hope it's a one off.
