Great timing, tandoori chicken was great. Wouldn’t recommend the madras, was too sweet. Will stick with Jonaki

Overall the food was OK. Bombay potatoes were lovely and rice was good. However, the tandoori chicken had absolutely no flavour despite it being such a bright red colour and looking really tasty. Also, the pathia was ok… pretty average nothing special. Definitely would not have been happy if we paid full price but luckily we did it on a 40% off deal. Wouldn’t order again from here.

The biryani rice was hard, and the meat pieces were tough and chewy. The curry containers were only around half filled, and the meat pieces were again very tough and chewy. The curries tasted bland.

Unfortunately the food was tasteless . Came hot and on time but no flavour to it at all.

Cold, hard rice. stale poppadoms, rock hard and cold onion Bhaji. Chicken Tikka Masala, bombay potatoes, mushroom Bhaji and chicken pathia had absolutely not flavour. We have been using this restaurant for years and this was inedible.

Food could of been a little hotter, both in heat & spice. But there was plenty of it.

Tasteless food, no flavours at all, not freshly cooked, late delivery 1h30m, puts you off indian food completely and after over a year not ordered an Indian takeaway maybe we won't order again for another 2 years unless we will find a better one,

Authentic Bangladeshi/ Indian food. Top chef, he needs to work 7 days a week, we know when he has a day off by the taste of the food. lol

Blandest Indian food I've ever had. Korma for the kids was the only thing with any flavour. Tikka Balti, Sag Paneer, Chicken Chat all with no flavour at all. Chicken Chat didn't come with a pancake, poppadoms didn't come with any salad like most Indians. won't be ordering here again

Not a tikka Masala I've ever known. Not 'creamy' - & the chicken overcooked/dry. Sag aloo ok. Late arrival so travelled around for a while before we got it luke warm. Bought on a good discount but, on this evidence, wouldn't try again.

The Curry dish was like a pasta sauce. Bland and not the usual quality. Had separated in the container.

Tonight I had a delivery from the Gulshan and even though I enjoy the dishes normally tonight they were extra super. The lamb melted in the mouth and the chicken tikka was so tender the knife needed no pressure whatsoever. The food arrived earlier than expected, piping hot and the driver was friendly, polite with a big smile. The Gulshan special offer is good value and nothing is too much trouble if you have any requests ! Thank you all at The Gulshan🙂

Tarka Dall was very rich, really tasty. However the bombay potatoes were incredibly bland, and the Jalfrazee was watery and hot from the chilli but otherwise barely spiced, very little depth to the flavour. Disappointing honestly

Gulshan is my 'go to' for indian food in Southend for quality and value - Amir the proprietor should be commended for his great restaurant and staff.

Delivery was great. Unfortunately our korma tasted sour and masala was watery, disappointing for the price

Lovely Indian food, our new favourite. Chicken tikka masala is lovely and creamy, the madras is lovely and spicy but not too much and their dansak is particularly nice too.

The food here is always delicious, arrives on time or early and is always hot. For the first time we had something missing but the restaurant was exceptional, apologetic and quickly sent out the missing item plus some extra food which arrived within 20 minutes of our call. Mistakes happen but here it's extremely rare and when it does happen their customer service response is second to none. Thank you Gulshan Tandoori 2 very happy customers

No bombay potatoe or coke with order

We’ve ordered from here multiple times and never had a problem. This time it was ridiculous. The food took over an hour and a half and the delivery driver called me and said she got lost and was going down a completely different road to my entered address. Then when the food arrived it was luke warm. And the Bombay potatoes were tasteless. Not happy at all.

Had the special with starter, main and side dish. As always was hot and delicious, still lots left over the next day.

As always food was delicious. My only comment is to poppadoms. They do insist put them in the bag with the rest of the food so by time it gets to you the poppadoms are not very nice no crisp to them so we don’t eat them. other than that perfect best Indian restaurant around

Ordinarily The Gulshan are the best Indian in Southend, but tonight was a different story. Took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive, and when it did it was practically cold. I can understand this on a busy Saturday night, but this was a Tuesday past 8pm. Not a good experience from a past favourite of mine.

Average sauces in the curry but all the dishes were onion heavy, the Balti had one small piece of green pepper then a whole onion, sp I’ve dipped the Nan in the sauces the popadoms were good and the mint dip very nice but the rest of the meal was just onions, the side dish had one boiled potato piece but vegetarian curry should have vegetables, a pile of curried onions is not what I ordered so it’s gone in the bin

Excellent food as always, hot and tasty and worth the money. Today the delivery was about 20 mins early than suggested when I ordered, of course they normally have decent timing on their deliveries anyway.

I have eaten here for over 26 years in the restaurant and as delivery and can't fault the delicious food and friendly service.

been using this place for over 15 years and never had food this bad. not happy.

when food arrived was cold , chicken was rubbery, mix meat biryani chicken lamb and prawn which where more like shrimps they where chewy, the mix veg curry was like having a ratatouille no taste like a curry no flavour and it was like having a mixture of bland Indian and Italian combined frozen veg don't belong in a so call curry , chicken korma and pilau rice also bland no taste and cold and watery.

We visited here on Monday 19th February for my sons 17th birthday , party of 5. Its a very nice old fashioned , family run restaurant with a nice menu. We all had the thali meal which was nice. We've read a lot of negative reviews with regards to the chicken being like rubber or dry , we can't agree with this on this occasion, but the lamb was cooked to perfection and was divine. The service was good and professional. The price is perfect as well not too expensive , I also liked that they didn't add a service charge on the bill it is down to you to leave that. A nice touch at the end was that each of the lady's in the party were given a rose . We will definitely come here again when we are in the area as we live in chelmsford.

This is by far the best Indian in Southend. Be it takeaway, dine in or their incredible Sunday buffet. The owner is so friendly and will always take time to talk to you. The food is always hot, fresh, tasty and brilliant value for money. Perfect for families, couples or solo! If it wasn't bad for my waist band I'd be there everyday!

Unfortunately this was one of the worst takeaways we have had, food was lukewarm to cold. The onion bhajs were like they were precooked and reheated from previous day, tough and really chewy. Mixed kebab starter was far too salty to eat. Both currys very salty, but not a slight heat despite being medium. Poppadoms texture was soft and stale, rice okay and keema naan okay. Valentines meal spoilt and we couldn’t eat the main part of it. Arrived fast was the only good thing unfortunately. It’s a shame as we’ve had a good meal from there a couple of times before. I have let them know it was cold and no option to report on quality or taste of food so I have stated that here.

Charged me £5 extra for 2 popadums and some extra cheese on the naan

At Gulshan, the atmosphere and ambience of the place is phenomenal. They never fail to impress with their outstanding customer service, leaving customers with a smile on their face. The food that is served correctly goes above and beyond the expectations as well as the flavours just hitting the spot. I’ll 100% recommend this place to anyone and planning to come soon.
