Quality was first class, chicken just fell apart, taste was excellent and portion size was generous, as always for this well established restaurant.

Chips weren’t cooked. Peas were cold and naan bread was burnt

Food was OK, chips were soggy, ordered and paid for a peshwari naan but it was not in with the order.

Haven’t ordered from here in years. But the chips where undercooked and cold and the madras sauce was watery

Very tasty. I ordered th chicken danzhak and pilau rice, with onion salad. I will definitely order from here and recommend it It was a little late but i got a text to say so.

This was actually a Take away on this occasion. Chicken Tikka Rezala. It was very reasonably priced and delivered very quickly. Perfect. Have eaten in this restaurant over the last 4 years and prices service and quality of food is Always good. They also do a varied and enjoyable Buffet meal on xmas and New Year at an exceptional price if you want to eat out. They dont take advantage of the occasions (unlike other Restaurants) and overcharge. Food is always fresh and cooked to a high standard. Im fussy about Indian meals. I really cant fault it.

Overall it was nice but the meat curry was tough. I wasn’t sure what the meat was as it doesn’t say on the menu. Maybe lamb but tough. The chicken was good and the meat samosas were lovely

Congratulations to everyone at the Shagor on their 25th anniversary. Very sorry we couldn’t join you this evening. The meal we had last Wednesday was fabulous. The wife had the buffet which she enjoyed immensely and my Chicken Jalfrezi was superb. Here’s to the next 25 years.

Food was amazing aswel as customer service. A very much oldskool Indian restaurant, in no way pretentious but we left very happy. We have also had family birthday parties in the function room. Happy happy

Great restaurant and take away. Food is very reasonably priced, generous with the amount of meat you get and most important the food tastes amazing.

Poor management, didn’t deliver my order and were very rude

Buffet is good value though can lack in quality and menu dishes are good. Problem with Shagor is they seem reluctant to provide a super hot spicy dish like many of the local Indian restaurants even when you order a vindaloo. I am off down to them tonight as a solo eater and I presume nothing will change. Staff and surroundings are good at a fairly reasonable price.

We have been to this restaurant twice, last night 14th June 24 and about a year ago. Went for Buffet. Hardly any choice for starter this time round only tandoori chicken, tiny onion bharji's 2p coin size and quite hot spice veg samosa. No mint sauce offered which took ages to arrive and not very tasty. No labels but a list 10 feet away and couldn't identify if the dished matched the wording. The best dish was the bright red vegetarian sweet curry which was probably tikka masala sauce with onions and peppers. The lamb was very tough I tasted one piece and didn't bother. Tasted my friends lamb and also though it was tough. Naan was nice but plain. Not much choice for vegetarians which 2 out of the 6 of us were.Definitely won't be giving this a 3rd chance.

Friday Buffet and our first time visit in the early evening. Lots of choice on the serve-yourself Buffet. Included Chicken Tikka Masala, a Meat Jalfrezi, Vegetable options and Naan. I think that the Buffet options change every week? Staff were very friendly and the restaurant is deceptively large inside with lots of tables and space. The Buffet itself was good value at around £13 each but the spicing overall was very mild, which actually might suit a lot of people!

First visit to this restaurant to try the buffet offering. Quite disappointed to be honest. None of the dishes were labelled and as we had two vegetarians in our party it wasn't easy for them to select their food. When we did find out what was veggie friendly the disappointment increased as their options were very minimal meaning they definitely did not get value for money. The other non veggie options were all very bland and had no hint of spice at all the one type of naan offered was dull and soggy. We left disappointed and won't be returning. Sorry

food and service as good as always

Food late, they didn't read my order notes and the "meat" was so tough it was inedible. First and last order from here.

We live nearby but had never tried the restaurant. Was pleasantly surprised with a good buffet and great value for money.

The food arrived 2 hrs after I paid for my food. The food was stone cold. I called the restaurant and they just said I was too far away!…….I live 20 mins away! This restaurant should not have accepted the order in the first place if they can’t deliver.

The Thai fishcakes tasted like fried spam

Order arrived wrong, phoned the restaurant and was told they were sorry and next time to speak to the manager and they’d give a free meal. Phoned up next time to try and claim the free meal and was told that they don’t do that and they won’t do it. The manager was extremely rude and we will unfortunately not order from here again. Shame as it was one of our favourite places to order!

I upgraded my naan breads only to receive the plain ones then to be told. I had to wait because they were busy, even though they do this every week, so I went in to collect myself received them and then they were burnt, and was told I would get a partial refund, and I didn’t. I was offered a free drink as well and I didn’t get that. I’m extremely disappointed with this service. I order all the time I felt like they just didn’t care this time

Food was ok not fantastic a bit tasteless,but only lukewarm which I can’t understand seeing it didn’t come that far away.

Honestly don’t bother. Booked a collection only to arrive at the time for the manager to laugh and say it would be at least another 20 minutes because it was a “big order”. Restaurant empty and the watched him then bag up 3 other orders waiting to be delivered. Manager then started shouting at me to sit down, despite me explaining I’d rather not sit. I doubt he’d have spoken to a bloke in the same way. Another member of staff came out and apologised for the manager saying he was “stressed”. Foo

The food was flavourful, and arrived very quickly. But it was slightly cold. And we ordered a Bhuna and Do-piaza, both which are supposed to be medium/hot. But they were very mild. I understand not everyone wants mega spice, but a bit of warmth would have been good. Due to this I most likely wouldn’t return. But I reckon this would be a good place to order from for a family who like to try others curry’s and don’t like too much spice.

This was actually the worst Indian I have ever had which is really annoying as I was looking forward to eating it. The Tarka Dal and Veg Curry were not even full portions as they went just over half way on the tins. The taste is what the worst part was. They also got my order wrong. I ordered a vegetable Madras and they gave me a Vegetable masala which was thick with oil.

The restaurant let us know it was late, so not a problem. It was a big order. Food was fresh and hot and delicious.

Best onion bhajees we’ve had in a long time!

Food arrived cold, cold curry isn’t nice. The popadoms were stale, so stale I could bend them without them cracking. The chips were wet and soggy. Disappointing because the chicken itself in the bhuna was soft, it fell apart, it was just cold so not the best. And items missing. Won’t try it again unfortunately :o(

Usually have no problems but this time they didn't pay attention to the written request and sent the wrong thing for one of the dishes. Really disappointed

Lovely food, but I knew that as I've eaten in-restaurant before. I got a call when it arrived, as the delivery lady doesn't do lifts (I did put on my order that I'm in a tower block!) and I had to go down to collect it. On asking if it wasn't her normal job, she said that she was just helping out on her way home(?). If it happens again, I'll order elsewhere.

Ordered a chicken jalfrezi. It used to come with a lot of chicken, onions, peppers, and chillies. This was way less chicken and nothing else but a tasteless sludge for a sauce. No spice whatsoever. I gave up after a few mouthfuls. Such a difference to the past. Must be an off day.

New to trying this one, unfortunately food was very very greasy and lots of watery liquid on the plate, few items were cold, everything taste the same could not tell the difference between the curry and the potato’s bit disappointed won’t use again.

Not the tastiest curry I've had. Lacked the freshness and punch that a dhansak should have. But not inedible. Seemed tastier when I had previously at the restaurant. Today's was take away.
