Myself and my partner how now become regulars eating at Ballingdon Valley and we are never disappointed. It was my bday and on arrival we were greeted by the lovely Zaynal who was very professional and attentive. Zaynal guided us through the wine list and we were very pleased with the bottle he recommended. Our waiter Kahled has always been very friendly and kind and has also helped me making choices of different dishes to try and also explains the ingredients in each dish and how mild or hot they maybe. Our food has always been excellent and we highly recommend, we come from Bury just for their service and great food. Thank you for a lovely bday and dinner we will definitely be seeing you soon. Lyndsey and Jason

Great to find a restaurant open at lunchtime. Visited yesterday with my cousin and returned today with my son. I'll start with just one negative - prawns were nicely cleaned, but the tail was left on which when hidden in rice was unexpected. That said the food is really delicious, especially the Aloo chaat. Staff warm and friendly - nice relaxing lunch. Will be back!

Went there last night with my husband and another couple. We meet regularly and enjoy curry. Have t eaten here before. Was greeted warmly and service began very well. Poppadoms were nice. We all ordered different chicken curries. This is where the problem began. My chicken in my jalfrezi was so tough I couldn’t eat it. My husband and friends’ dishes were tough also. Two of them struggled through but didn’t enjoy it. We complained and they took some chicken off to the chef. Didn’t really hear anything more, just said manager would deal with it. There was no apology, no free drinks , and we were just left there and had to ask for the bill. We were then offered 15% off of a £110 ruined meal. They did then reduce it slightly more when we complained. They could have tried to make it a better experience, but didn’t , no sorry , nothing. Save your money and go somewhere else

My girlfriend and I visited this restuarant on their Banquet 5 course meal night (Tuesdays). It's advertised at £17.95 per person, so sounds quite reasonable. The "5 courses" consist of a starter, main, side dish, rice or naan (hardly a "course" and a coffee (again not what I would call a "course"). The food was "ok" - pretty average really. The menu on this night that you are given seems to be a very cut down version of their main menu. Choices for sides for example seemed to be extremely limited. The side of bhaji's that I had was fine, the main course of madras was ok but the coffee at the end was awful. However - here's the catch - the cost of drinks. My girlfriend had two very, very watery lime and soda waters and this cost a staggering £10! Ridiculous. I think the Diet Coke I had was nearly £5 too. How on earth they can charge these absolutely extortionate prices for drinks is beyond me. I know, from reading local Facebook groups posts that I am not alone with the drink situation and others have said they will not go here again. I won't be returning either. My message to this restuarant : Don't rip off your customers, your repeat business will dry up as word gets about.

Curries were very bland and lacking in flavour. The chutney tray pots were very small and only half full. Also, one of the dishes was different to what was ordered. When we rang up to complain they said they had ran out of the main ingredient and the delivery driver should have told us at the point of delivery. This is not acceptable as we should have been told before it was delivered.

We were a party of eleven. We eat out together often and are very good at settling the bill - we each keep score of what we have and pay for that, with any service charge, etc. This time, when we had all paid our parts, we were told that we were still about £80 short. We all went through, we all counted up, we could not see where it went wrong. The turning point came when we added up the items on the handwritten bill. The items listed, and their prices, were correct. There were no additions. However, the given total was about £80 more than the sum of the parts. Once we pointed this out, the bill was taken by the waiter for re-examination and all was declared well. It is for this reason that I suggest that, if you must go to this restaurant, you very carefully check your bill. A party where one was paying all, or a party where the total is just equally split, or a party where much alcohol had been consumed, may not have noticed such a massive inadvertent mistake in the favour of the restaurant by about £80. Mathematics aside, the evening was quite good. The food was OK. The service adequate. The company wonderful. The room could do with some softer furnishings or drapes on the walls to soften the din when everyone is talking.

I would give this zero stars if there was an option! The restaurant may serve better food but I doubt it, we had a takeaway and it was awful. I’ve never seen a runny korma in my life but this one was. My dhansak was no better, or the side dishes. There were no saving graces and we wished we hadn’t wasted our money on what was quite an expensive take away. Bombay potatoes were the wrong type of potato - floury and disintegrating. No fresh flavour to anything . Couldn’t have been more disappointed

A wonderful, relaxing and entertaining evening, spent with ‘forever’ friends . Nice vibe in the restaurant, was made even better with great food and attentive service. A big Name check for Assad, who went above and beyond what’s required for making a good evening , GREAT ! Definitely will be returning very soon.
