The best restaurants serving Greek food in England

Once again visited this amazing restaurant with the usual fantastic atmosphere wonderful staff and exceptional food never never fails to disappoint The steaks cannot be beaten anywhere,the sides always come out hot and plentiful and excellent value Can't wait to next time,

Really disappointed by my recent visit, more so as visited years ago and it was excellent. We were a party of 4 and went for the meze selection for 4. To start with the whitebait was burnt, the calamari was paper thin and tasteless and there was no nice Greek Salad, feta or olives. The meats came out and were average at best. The stifado tasted like a supermarket sauce and the moussaka again wasn't to a brilliant standard. The fish was nice though in a tasty garlic sauce. Poor dining experience for the price and definitely wasn't a proper "Greek Food" experience whatsoever.

We are Americans & were looking for authentic Italian. This was a Greek restaurant but with several Italian dishes. We had bolegnese, cabanara, & chicken a la king (American). The waitress was awesome. Good was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Fabulous family owned restaurant.

If you want authentic Greek/Cypriot cuisine then you must go eat there - trust me I’m Cypriot & I will definitely be going back there to feast! Greg the owner was so lovely and made us so very welcome - you can’t beat Cypriot hospitality - thank you Greg!! The food is delicious!!!

Came here for Tuesday night dinner with a few friends. Service was great, staff were friendly and accommodating, and even though it was a quiet weeknight there was still a lovely atmosphere with a log fire and pretty decor. It was great to see them serving tapas here again, and we had a few classic tapas as well as some newer, creative dishes we’d not tried before. The cracker bread & sweet pickle served with the pintxos & Camembert was lovely! There were also some lovely specials. Lots of options for vegetarian/ pescatarian. The sangria was great and we finished with the best limoncello I’ve ever tried! We had a dog with us and they were really accommodating, putting us at a table where she could have space and wouldn’t roam to other tables. Lovely evening & lovely people running it, we’ll definitely be back.

Me alegro de haber encontrado este restaurante. Todo al respecto es excepcional, desde la comida hasta el ambiente y el servicio amable y servicial. Los panes horneados caseros y los dips fueron un comienzo delicioso seguido de platos de pescado magníficamente hechos a mano que eran generosos en porción y tenían acompañamientos interesantes. El vino griego de la casa también era encantador. También apreciamos mucho el postre gratis empapado de naranja. Los precios no son baratos, pero se obtiene una buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda volveré a visitarlo de nuevo.

A birthday meal with friends, 5 of us in total. The pizza was excellent thin base with crisp edges fresh and tasty, just the right amount of toppings, the tomato sauce spot on for 4 of us. The other had king prawn linguine with good size prawns. Very friendly service, had a lovely chat with the owner. Would definitely recommend.

We had struggled to eat in Margate yesterday, finding only London esque places serving sharing plates of beetroot and octopus, or fish and chip and kebab shops, so we were delighted to come across Giorgio's tonight. It is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants we have been to in a while. Delicious food, good service, and reasonable prices. All served in a cosy basement setting. Highly recommended.

We visited the Rake last night, 27/12/24. We were seated straight away as we had pre-booked our table. We could see it was really busy so expected to wait for service. We were asked by a lovely lady what we would like to drink, we asked to see a drinks menu first. She went off to get it and never came back. After a wait, we asked a lovely young man could we have the drinks menu and he got us one instantly. We ordered our food on pices of paper(as you do) And handed it in. After a while, the first item came out, my oh garlic bread. Then one of mine came out. My son, who was treating us waited so long for his first tapas that our second dishes arrived. Not good at all. He got his eventually. I have to say that the food was excellent! Pricey, but well worth it. The wine prices are really expensive so be prepared for that. We had a great night with gorgeous food. Service was good, but a bit slow. Staff are lovely, rushed off their feet but still happy and smiling.

Another excellent meal in here. Its an amazing little place that really does have fresh quality food. Highly recommended, but remember to book! Service if friendly and efficient.

Awful, every time I did order from this restaurant, always came with something missing , and also always I thought next time it will be ok the food , always missing salad , bread , etc . This is annoying me so much , it’s so much expensive for what food they make .

Another lovely meal at the Carob tree. We come here at least once a month and it never fails to be amazing. Service and food is flawless as always. Pleasant lunch today from beginning to end, even though they were super busy a top service!
