The best restaurants serving Greek food in England

Waited over an hour and a half for a takeaway delivery. The online tracking showed it was 'with the delivery driver" for over half an hour. When we called to enquire as to the issue, the owner was incredibly rude and disrespectful, despite admitting that the order hadn't even been made. Argued (telling me not to try arguing with him when I asked when to expect what I'd paid for!), complained about being busy, included some theatre of how easily he could just cancel our order and didn't need our custom tonight (and got angry when I pointed out that last time we visited we'd been one of three tables in an otherwise empty restaurant and he'd been less full of himself and excuses). Called me 'love" throughout, despite his clear disdain. Poor service and attitude.

Literally the worst food I’ve had in a long time. I don’t know what else to say. The chicken was dry and old and I can’t even class that as chicken tbh. The rice was also stale. Awful. I left it as is in the photo and walked out.

Courteous staff - excellent service for delicious Greek favourites, continental cuisine and tender steaks. Also good selection of wines and spirits.

We have eaten here several times and the food is always great. Plenty of it and very tasty. The staff are always pleasant and helpful too. The only thing that disappointed me this time was that we didn't get the chocolate brownie at the end. I know it's free, but I always look forward to it. It finishes the meal off beautifully. Other people were given them , but not us. Don't know why. We still had a lovely time, just left a little disappointed.

A real gem on a nice street by Fitzroy Square - a lovely area to have a meal in! A very relaxed, homely family-run restaurant that I will definitely bring my friends and family to again. (the family next to us have been coming for 20-years so says a lot!). Great!

Wow, wow and wow again! The food was delicious and the portion sizes were huge. Staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. For what is provided, the price is more than reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

We had high expectations after reading some of the reviews and unfortunately came away feeling a bit underwhelmed. I had Bravas fondant to start and it did not have any of the expected heat or smokiness associated with Patatas bravas. I then had sea bass with chimichurri. The fish was accurately cooked but the skin wasn’t crispy, so I wouldn’t have expected it to be served. The chimichurri worked well with the bass but the fish was served with a side of boiled/steamed vegetables, none of which were seasoned and just seemed a little at odds with the rest of the dish, maybe a dressed salad would have worked better. Nothing was unpleasant or badly cooked but when paying to go out for dinner I expect food to be better than I could cook myself, and it wasn’t.

Once again visited this amazing restaurant with the usual fantastic atmosphere wonderful staff and exceptional food never never fails to disappoint The steaks cannot be beaten anywhere,the sides always come out hot and plentiful and excellent value Can't wait to next time,

Really disappointed by my recent visit, more so as visited years ago and it was excellent. We were a party of 4 and went for the meze selection for 4. To start with the whitebait was burnt, the calamari was paper thin and tasteless and there was no nice Greek Salad, feta or olives. The meats came out and were average at best. The stifado tasted like a supermarket sauce and the moussaka again wasn't to a brilliant standard. The fish was nice though in a tasty garlic sauce. Poor dining experience for the price and definitely wasn't a proper "Greek Food" experience whatsoever.

Small portions and one dish was all out and in the bottom of the bag!! Not impressed!!

Great authentic Greek food. Great owners and staff who are so friendly and care about their food and customers.

If you want authentic Greek/Cypriot cuisine then you must go eat there - trust me I’m Cypriot & I will definitely be going back there to feast! Greg the owner was so lovely and made us so very welcome - you can’t beat Cypriot hospitality - thank you Greg!! The food is delicious!!!

We went for lunch on a Thursday and it seemed busy for a Thursday! The waitress was friendly, informative and attentive without being overbearing. The lunch offer for two courses for £17.95 or three for £20.95 was excellent value as it was any dish off the menu! The food was excellent, portion size just right and decent pacing on bringing out the courses. Absolutely couldn't fault it. Doesn't look that much from the outside, but don't be put off!

Visité de nuevo anoche con la familia. Como de costumbre la comida es excelente, nunca nos han decepcionado. María y el personal siempre son muy acogedores. Bonito ambiente.
