Staff we're great. Unfortunately the food was very average and somewhat tasteless. It's weird because all the grilled meats were tender and nicely cooked but just totally tasteless. Under seasoned and no real sauce to speak of in order to give things a lift. Have to say the service was excellent and the atmosphere pleasant enough.

We really like this restaurant but the tables, certainly upstairs are very small. So much so, that we have stopped visiting as for, four men, we find it can be uncomfortable when the food is served.

Grilled fish is really good, avegolemoni (lemon fish soup) super phenomenal; owner and everyone very kind and hospitable. Then again how could we be sad with a little house made Grappa at the end :)

Dined here in November with an ex-work colleague and was so wowed I resolved to return. This time brought family and friends (11 of us and a baby) and we had the downstairs to ourselves. The food was again superb and we were looked after wonderfully. It was my wife's birthday and she was bowled over. As mentioned in my inaugural review (19 Nov) the restaurant is just off the beaten track in Cleveland Street (up from Goodge Street station ..takes around 6 mins). The chef is a genius ..cooking for him is clearly an absolute joy. We made a lot of noise - it was a party after all! :-) but we must have been thought well-behaved as we were treated to baclava on the house (homemade & delicious) at the end of our sumptuous meal!

Flipping wonderful meal in this quiet, authentic Greek restaurant. Pork Souvlaki was perfect from the seasoning to the cooking to the portion size. My husband went for the mixed grill it was HUGE but delicious. Sides of crispy roast potatoes and a lovely Greek salad. We were treated to homemade Greek orange cake and baklava, outstanding. This is not a pretentious place but a family run cafe style restaurant, really comfortable and trru to it's roots.

Wonderful what rates like authentic Greek food cooked fresh by the cook who comes put to make sure everything is okay. Pork Souvlaki was exceptional, mixed grill was enormous and delicious, all cooked to perfection. We were treated to homemade Greek Orange cake and Baclava, again outstanding. Definitely worth a visit if you're in this neck of the woods.

We booked a table for New Year's Eve dinner on 29/11. On the morning of 12/31 I received a message telling me that the restaurant was closed. You can imagine the difficulty in finding an alternative solution for dinner on New Year's Eve. We don't behave like that.

If you're looking for a place that will transport you straight to Greece, this restaurant is a perfect choice! The fish was absolutely delicious – fresh, perfectly seasoned, and simply melted in your mouth. The service also deserves huge praise – the staff were polite, cheerful, and professional, paying attention to every detail to make us feel like special guests. This is definitely a spot worth recommending to anyone who loves Greek cuisine and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

The team is very friendly. I like the Christmasy vibes there. The mezeh is so good, as well as slow-cooked lamb meal. Music is so nice - I think they chose music that we would like 😌 The offered us a nicely-made baklava and another dessert with an orange flavour. So good

One of my favorite dining experiences in London. The taramasalata was a culinary revelation. The baklava and orange cake desert was some of the best desert I’ve had in a long time. And such a cosy restaurant, with great staff.

I have been meaning to try The Four Lanterns for a while because I’m always drawn to long established restaurants who have stood the test of time. This has to be the best Greek restaurant in London. I’ve just returned from Cyprus and this compares with the best places that I ate in whilst there. It’s family run which makes all the difference as the service is top. Attentive and friendly. I had a delicious moussaka that came with a side salad and my husband had a beautifully cooked sea bass. The portions are generous. I drank a very acceptable house wine and my husband was pleased to find a Cypriot beer. We had Greek coffee and pastries and grappa was delivered on the house. The atmosphere is homely and warm and I will be going back for more.

The waiter was really easily approachable and willing to please you. To be fair, the food was good, but nothing special. I had much better Greek food in the past. The atmosphere was most likely ruined by a quite bad smell from the nearby toilet (we were sitting in the room in the basement), but at least was quite because the upstairs main diner room was busy. It hasn't been the worst experience I've ever had, but definitely I wouldn't go there again.

The food was really authentic and absolutely delicious! The staff were so friendly and provided great recommendations - the grilled fish was to die for!!

When I was there for the first time (that was around 2022) I ordered a dish with souvlaki and rice, which I found really tasty. When I went there yesterday to order something, I unfortunately found myself in front of a locked door. Although according to Google, the opening hours are updated at 12 p.m. I think it is important that it should be updated so that people are informed about it.

Had a really lovely dinner yesterday. The food was authentic, good, and well timed. The service was incredibly friendly but not too much and just very family-first. We spent a few hours eating and drinking and catching up - we booked a table for 3 for 5pm on a Friday and left at 7:30pm. The atmosphere is great - family-run - the owner gave us some of his old grappa which was lovely! Can recommend!

Our favorite spot in London to have authentic Greek! We keep coming back! The food is clean and the ingredients are fresh. The tomatoes in the Greek salad are the best I’ve ever had. We enjoy the tzatziki, chicken, halloumi, and dips! The staff is warm and welcoming and create a memorable experience with each meal.

Very poor quality hard and tough meat. Barely edible. Mentioned it and the waiter removed the 10% service charge. Disappointed as it’s hard to get grilled meat this wrong! Not fresh. The calamari were nice according to the kids.

Family ownd restaurant, fantastic food. We had moussaka that was like silk, I had had lamb shank that fell off the bone. Even all starters very delissous. All of it was perfectly seasoned. We came with 14 poeple and nobody had to wait for his food ordered. Also the open house wine (red/white) was perfect. At the end the owner offered us a drink on the house. My choice was a Raki - what a taste. Nice family, nice food. Efcaristo polis.

The best place in London to enjoy a good Sea Bass. Served with love and dedication since I visited them my first time in London, 20 years ago. There is not a time I come to London that I don’t visit them again.

Absolutely amazing fresh food and excellent customer service from Alex and his team. I have been going to The Four Lanterns for years, I really recommend Greek lamb kleftiko, a traditional Greek dish of slow-roasted lamb cooked in parchment with potatoes and vegetables.

For heaven's sake please turn off this terrible background music that is driving us neighbors NUTS and creates the most unbearable atmosphere… We BEG you!

Small, quiet Cypriot restaurant in the Marylebone district. You can eat comfortably on the terrace. Good typical and generous cuisine and a very nice boss. I recommend.

These were authentic Mediterranean dishes, made on the premises and so delicious. Fresh, quality ingredients, very generous and friendly staff. Especially excellent grilled lamb! Alex himself took my reservation for 10 for outdoors and graciously made it work out. At the end of the meal he drank a toast with us of house-made grappa! Highly recommend for delicious authentic food and hospitality.

Really nice restaurant, with excellent food and service. They were absolutely lovely. They even complimented us with a delicious desert and ice cream for our child. They have a spacious and beautiful terrace which made that summer night one to remember. Certainly will repeat whenever we come back to London.

I took my son and his wife here for some excellent Greek food. The service is friendly and efficient, without being obtrusive. We had a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious and generous (my klefitko was large and perfectly cooked).

The most attractive things are: a warm welcome from all staff , especially Alex - the owner of the place ; clean relaxing atmosphere; really good sized tasty portions of food ! This is a fabulous restauraunt with a fabulous experience . We went for a 50th birthday and the food and service and atmosphere was fantastic . They really looked after us . I havent been this impressed for a long time
