Yamas Meze and Tapas

Bridge, Nottingham, 20-30£
16/12/2018: We chose this restaurant for our company Christmas meal and were not disappointed. The staff were great and made us feel really welcome and the food was great, and lots of it too! The perfect place for a big group
15/12/2018: Having not been here before, despite the wife harrassing me to do so, now been twice in a week, say no more. Absolutely fantastic service and food quality. I’ll be back.

Buxton Central, High Peak
28/12/2018: The way they handled the telephone conversation ( regarding reservation ) is very warm and welcoming. We had Greek beer to start with and ordered Greek wine with our main courses.
10/12/2018: I went here with a friend for an early dinner. It is a very pleasant restaurant and nicely furnished. The service was very good and the waiter extremely pleasant. My friend, a vegetarian was well served with various options. For a main course I had the Lamb Shank which was very good although slightly overdone in parts. Overall a very nice evening.

Steliana's and Sapho's Greek Taverna

Arboretum, Derby
01/12/2018: Great food but charged individually for a two person meal doubling the price. The table behind us was charged the correct price which we overheard as we walked out. Avoid!
28/11/2018: Having been to this restaurant several times but not for a while, it didn't disappoint.

The Greek Taverna

Toller, South Kesteven, 20-30£
18/12/2018: Attended the restaurant for a meal with friends to celebrate a birthday, we had a Meze for 7 persons, every single dish was superb! Plenty to eat (with a doggy bag taken home, this was offered to us rather than having to ask for it, which is a bonus and makes you feel like the owner/staff doesn’t want the excellent food to go to waste). At least 8/9 different dishes, it was never-ending supply of hot food! The vegetarian dishes (courgette with onion and egg) were brilliant and the meat perfectly cooked. Will definitely visit again.
29/11/2018: Visited here after hearing good things about the food, and we were not disappointed! Ordered a selection of food between 2 and all food was tasty and well presented. It was pretty quiet when we first arrived, but once there was more people the atmosphere picked up which made the place a lot better. Worth a visit if you have a free evening in the area!

Olive Grove Bistro

Worksop South, Bassetlaw, <20£
16/12/2018: Good range of tapas type dishes, unpretentious cosy feeling, staff pretty attentive. Mixed range of offerings to eat, none mind blowing but still very tasty. Decent wines and beers. Best place to eat in Worksop
13/12/2018: Met up with a friend for lunch and a catch up - gorgeous food! Nice place, friendly hosts - can you come and open one of these in Newark please. Excellent food, can't rate it highly enough, Thank you

Emilios Greek Restaurant

St Marys, Gedling
14/12/2018: We visited as part of a works Christmas party. The venue had been booked well in advance and the venue knew exactly how many were coming. We arrived last and found that all the seats on the 2 tables allocated to our party were taken. We asked the manager/owner to sort it and he just shrugged and told us there was nothing he could do. We had to sit on the other side of the room from the rest of our group and once other parties arrived we found ourselves stuck in a corner unable to get out to the bar without disturbing everyone else.
20/11/2018: Have been going for many years and it just gets better staff very good service excellent would defo recomend

Les Olives

Castle, Northampton
17/12/2018: Firstly this place is a hidden gem you walk in to the area which I believe is becoming a bar and it’s completely empty, you head upstairs and it a warm inviting space that feels like your in Spain.
09/12/2018: Came to Les Olives for a works Christmas meal. Food and wine were both delicious but sadly service was quite poor with staff taking drinks orders and then forgetting to bring what we had asked for. However it was busy so I would visit again at a quieter time. I would recommend the chicken in sherry and mixed fish. Delicious!

Beeston West, Broxtowe
11/11/2018: As regular visitors to Greece and with several Greek friends we love Greek food. Sadly not all Greek restaurants in the UK match tavernas in Greece. Happily Yiannis in Beeston not only matches up but exceeds expectations. We had a great meal as a birthday celebration with our son. Really good souvlaki and the Mythos beer was perfectly chilled. The service was courteous and friendly. This is a real find. Epharisto poli Yiannis!!
04/10/2018: Visited with friends, walked past and dismissed many times. Excellent food and service, Moussaka amazing, excellently spiced. Will not walk past this restaurant again. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Beeston

The Stuffed Olive

Abington, Northampton, >100£
12/12/2018: Interesting menu --expected more pasta dishes--lots of lovely and varied fish really fabulous garlic bread
22/11/2018: Visited mid week at lunchtime. It was a cold day and the restaurant was cold so had to request the heating to be turned up; only one other table occupied. The starter was ok and was hot but the mains were only luke warm and the fish was tasteless and appeared to have been cooked some time before being presented the restaurant lacked atmosphere and warmth. Compared to other restaurants in the locality this was expensive for what we had and not up to expectations. We had eaten here previously, although not for a year or two and it had been god.

Gabbys Greek Taverna

Abbey, Lincoln
14/06/2018: If you want authentic food, with amazing service this is definitely the place for you. It’s a small restaurant but it’s packed full of flavour! We had the mezze for two and it was amazing, filling and delicious, the best humous we’ve ever had! The portions are also more than generous! Then for our main upon the hosts recommendation we had the most beautiful lamb on the bone!! (i can’t remember the name, but it’s under specials) it was perfectly cooked, moist and falling off the bone, completely to die for! This was our first time but we will definitely be coming back! This small restaurant deserves a lot more custom and I will be recommending it to everyone! Great rustic food and such welcoming, accommodating staff for an amazing price what more could you want!!
30/05/2018: We visited Lincoln for the bank holiday weekend and after a very disappointing lunch at a well known restaurant we were exceptionally hungry come dinner.

Olivers Kebab House

Buxton Central, High Peak
21/06/2018: Chicken was thin slices and dry and over cooked. The salad was very lacking just lettuce and onions dumoed on top of chicken and wrapped in paper making poor salad soggy.
10/04/2018: Olivers is for sure the best pizza place in town. Pizzas are large and filling with generous toppings. Unlike dominoes where you have to pay for each topping.

Greek Steakhouse

Castle, Newark and Sherwood, 30-45£
08/12/2018: Went here with another couple for the first time. Having looked on trip advisor for a decent meza/tapas style restaurant.
12/11/2018: We went here for a couples evening out - it was very loud and quite packed in seating - meal was lovely and tasty, no complaints really. If you want a cosy and romantic greek meal then this isn't really the place to go - too many large tables and so can be very noisy. Service was good and had a chat with the owners later in the evening with a complimentary drink once they found out that my partner lives in Greece.

L'Oliveto Due Cafe and Restaurant

Normanton, Rutland
27/12/2018: Needs to be removed as now closed, there is a new business / small cafe there but they have limited everything last time we went there. No alcohol, no main food stuff, no ice creams, not really much of anything
14/11/2017: Passed by the restaurant today, according to the notice on the door from Anglian Water, it has ceased trading, they hope to have a new cafe/Restaurant open in 2018.

Eviva Taverna

Bridge, Nottingham
20/05/2018: Tried Eviva Taverna for the first time as we’re off to Corfu in a few weeks so thought we’d try some Greek food. We went for the special meze at a bargain £16. The food was tasty, filling and to a high standard. Nick, who served us was brilliant, he even recommended where to see the best sunset in Corfu. 100% will be returning soon. Great place.
19/02/2018: We visited Eviva Taverna for my mother in laws 70th birthday on Saturday and were completely blown away with the whole experience . Nick greeted us when we arrived and literally couldn’t do enough for us from the moment we arrived to the moment we left!!

Troodos Taverna

Fairestone, Blaby, 20-30£
15/02/2018: Excellent Restsurent service second to none Leon and family have run this place for over 50 years, always a warm welcome and friendly smile it's sad that it's an end of an era, and we as a family will miss it, we'll miss most of all the meze with the choice of starters, the meat combo which is a favourite of ours on its own, and the fish course with crab claws prawns scampi and calamari, and last of all the meat course succulent lamb kelftco with pork and chicken skewers, and best of all I'll miss the mossarka it's a favourite of mine as it's something I don't cook at home for one,
14/02/2018: Great meal, as usual. Slightly spoiled by the folks on the next table who were clearly out to not be happy! See their review below! It’s a lovely restaurant and the atmosphere is enhanced by the closeness of the tables on a busy night - but obvs not for that table!! They pushed their chairs round so we had no room but all they could do was complain!! We had to the lamb too. It was perfect.
