The Olive in Leicester

Without a shadow of a doubt the best Greek Food in Leicester. The quality of the meat, the rice and the Greek Salad is superb! The best Greek food I have had outside Mykonos, and I have been a regular (daily) since coming back in August. Highly Recommended!

Went here for lunch with a friend. Food was cooked fresh and the ambiance was great. Not too busy which was perfect for us. Accommodating with small children too. Will be back to taste the fresh juices next time

Another visit to The Olive for a quick lunch didn't disappoint. Two very fresh Greek salads with melt-in-the-mouth Feta. Attentive and friendly serving staff. Excellent. A big shout out to the young lady serving this lunch time who ran down the street after me to return my glasses which I'd left on the table when we left.

We were so looking forward to trying the breakfast menu as we have eaten/ordered from here several times from the main menu and have always had great food and selection. So today on a rare day off we decided to try breakfast out. We wish we hadn't bothered after taking a seat and being told they only had 2 eggs left !!! So only option was a small English breakfast,we decided to have this and add a couple of extra sides. We had 2 cappuccinos whilst waiting for breakfast. After a lengthy wait the food was served luke warm and when we asked for 2 more cappuccinos was told only enough milk for one!!!!! Very disappointed, will not be returning any time soon.

I was in Leicester for 1 evening on my way up North and was delighted to find this restaurant. I know and cook Greek food myself and was happily surprised by the quality of food. This is street food so the menu is simple with also vegetarian options. I ordered the lamb souvlaki on a plate. It was very tasty, well cooked, salad was fresh, the pitta was delicious and the fries were really good. All served freshly cooked. I didn't know what to expect but was impressed. I wish I had had more appetite to order a delicious looking traditional dessert. The service was really friendly and professional. It was very clean. Top treat: background authentic Greek music. We really enjoyed our visit to the Olive, it was a Sunday afternoon so super quiet. The waitress/server was really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, would highly recommend the spanokopita and the tzatziki. The place was very clean and the prices super reasonable

The order wasn’t delivered. Tried to deliver to wrong address and delivery driver refused to deliver to the right address. Hope they enjoyed the food I paid for but never got

We ate in, Friday night. Lots of delivery guys calling. Able to get gluten free choices. Had meat feast for 2, delicious & plentiful. Did have paprika on fries, able to give me some plain fries.

This lovely place takes me on holiday for my lunch.

Great food large portions but very slow service we waited 40 minutes for the mains to arrive due to mainly two things a bit short staffed they worked hard but at least a body short mains were bought out but starters plates drink cans and bottles not yet cleared again they worked hard THE most obvious problem was deliveries clearly took priority over sit in customers with a constant in and out of scooter delivery drivers. We did enjoy our meal but not the best service we would however go back for more in the future

Amazing food at a very reasonable price

This place is the true Greek restaurant In Leicester weather its a take out on an app or going to their restaurant. I have done both. This restaurant is under estimated . If you want real Greek food this is the only place for me.. True portions great staff highly recommend. Give them a try weather it's in their restaurant or by delivery you won't be dissaplinted x

Just had my 1st order tonight and OMG amazing, the food was well presented good portions. I ordered a chicken gyros wrap and a chargrilled lamb gyros not only did it look amazing the taste and flavours took me right back to a Greek holiday. I would highly recommend this place they are on deliveroo which I used and from start to finish I knew where my order was and time of arrival. Spot on no complaints. If you fancy a Greek dinner this to me is the place to go in Leicester. 10/10

I ordered the lamb gyros and I can honestly say it was extremely tough and chewy, very disappointing after reading all the good reviews. The chips and bread were good but the lamb was not authentic greek . I have been to Athens so I know how it should taste. However after providing this feedback to the owner she basically agreed with me and told me to order the chicken next time.

They gyros where great the only disappointment was the chips where cold other than that brilliant

For the prices would have expected a Bit more and the pork IS chewy and Chicken Tested funny im not Happy will never Order from them again

Great big portions and really tasty

Stopped in for a quick bite in between jobs , I had the gyro meal deal , was absolutely delicious so fresh and tasty 🤤 , I also grabbed some baklava for me and the wife so authentic and tasty 5*

Lovely fresh food served here me, my partner & friends have eaten here many times and always receive lovely friendly service from the waitress. Nice spacious restaurant lovely and clean great choice of Greek food on the menu served quickly but lovely quality & nice sized portions.washroom facilities clean as well we will always return very impressed & highly recommended.

Food was really tasty, great flavours. Loads of meat. Could have done with more chips for two people. Wasn’t the hottest but did come a distance. Will definitely be ordering again and would love to visit the restaurant.

Went for a last minute valentines meal and the place was lovely, nicely decorated for the occasion. Great and super friendly staff, food was amazing and portions were perfect. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Visit med here on Saturday with my husband late lunch early tea time. Dining area clean, greeted with a warm welcome. We ordered halloumi bites, they arrived fresh and hot absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken gyros and my husband had the kebabs on a plate. The ingredients were good quality. Food was fresh and tasty. We will definitely be returning.

The food was lovely and fresh. Chicken gyros plate with fresh salad and chips with seasoning and bread on the side. Also like the tray it came in. Enjoyable meal will order again .

Food was delicious, however the portion size was very small for the price. Few bits of meat, handful of chips, bit of salad and small bread for £16.95.

Very nice place and fabulous food! Keep taking my non local friends there and all of them loved it! Our favourite is chiken gyro and meat fest, chips ofcourse is a must. Cannot wait to have a bite there again.

Best Greek food I’ve had outside Greece

I took my niece and nephew here for my nieces bday meal. Wait an hour and half for some overcooked mixed grill for 2. The meal was brought out bit by bit so we couldn’t eat it as a family as the kids were starving bless them. The staff seemed annoyed that we were getting restless but it’s two children. They said it would be 10 minutes after waiting at least 30 minutes and it was over 40. When we got inside we didn’t get given any menu’s but other were when they were seated. It was lunch time and I’d paid for 3 hours parking so by time it was done I had 50 minutes left so there wasn’t much time to spend together. Quite disappointing really as they really loved their last meal there.

Well I’m not much of a fan of Greek food but I love gyros and this place was the worst gyro I ever had . I order off Uber eats and thought I’d try the gyros the bread was tough and it was packed with onions two slices of tomato and few chips I had to chuck the bread away as it smelt of margarine and eat the meat with onions . If your looking for a good gyros there’s much better places in Leicester .

Nice little place to grab some authentic greek food. Hand made pittas were lovely.

Best place to eat in Leicester 🙌🏻

Clueless. Overpriced chicken kebab. We were drawn in from the outside as it actually looks a nice place to eat but unfortunately the quality was much the same as a normal greasy kebab house. Ordered two kofta’s with halloumi which was forgot from both our orders. And drinks took 10 minutes to be served. Refund was given after paying for a lamb dish to be told there was none available. Expect the bare minimum from this place.

Service was amazing, food was delicious loads of flavour . I ordered a fresh Greek salad, Halloumi ( 2 big slices) with lemon. Best I have had and lamb with pitta & fries. All this food waa shared between 2 people. Portions are generous excellent I will definitely be back and recommend this place its well needed

Ive ordered a breakfast here, the service could do with improving, the person who served me sat outside with some customers laughing and eyes landed on me a couple of times which made me uneasy, so discression is advised. I would rate the quality of the food as standerd for breakfast, but the tea was very strong so I'd like to exclaim that 2 teabags was too much and there should be an option to take the teabags out before it gets too strong as I like my tea weak, I got sugar but I didn't get a spoon, the milk had milk "skin" in it, looks like it was heated beforehand, as much as I dont mind warmed up milk I don't like bits floating in it, just a tip for next time. I know critisism can be hard to take but I hope the service can improve as I think I'd like to visit for some greek dishes next time as i like the ability to sit outdoors :)

We went to the Olive for lunch on Saturday and the service was spot on. I had lamb Souvlaki and my husband had the Chicken gyros... The food was seriously delicious and authentic, especally the home made pitta bread and halloumi fries!

This place never fails to prepare a great meal- I can highly recommend the Chicken Gyro for quality and quantity, exceedingly excellent every time and value for money. Plenty of choice on the menu, and I’ve never been let down with any item, delivered or dining in. The only gripe about this place (which is not their fault), is the place physically is on the small side. The good news though, you can book tables to avoid missing out. This is definitely the best Greek in Leicester, without a doubt!

We tried the olive after many people saying how good it was. We love Greece and Greek food went in for a chicken gyros was really good very Greek. Good value for money and friendly service would recommend.

Delicious, fresh and authentic food with friendly staff, great experiences both eating in and from deliveries.

My fiancé and I had some Gyros and they were fantastic, I would have taken a photo but we ate them too quickly. 10/10 and will absolutely be coming back again!

Me and my boyfriend ate there today. The staff were so helpful with catering for my severe peanut allergy, nothing was too much trouble! The food was amazing, so tasty and fresh. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very calm and relaxed and we felt very welcome. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back

Visited this place during our 3 day stay at Leicester. The place is spic and span, prices are reasonable and food is very good. Staff are super friendly especially the woman behind the counter. Recommend it 👍

Can’t give this place anything other than 5/5. Polite friendly staff. Lovely choice on the menu. Authentic Greek food and very well priced. Clean establishment too and easy nearby on street parking for a quid. Highly recommend the gyros and halloumi fries. Look forward to visiting again.

We came across this wonderful little find and it was fabulous. Calm, simple interior. Nice service and great food. Such good value.

Absolutely disgusting! Freezing cold,soggy wet,reheated burnt mess I waited 3 hours for my order then to receive it with missing items rang the restaurant wasn’t very apologetic really didn’t sound bothered at all. After waiting that long you’d think they would at least send the order correct, after waiting that long you’d think they’d think twice about what they were actually sending out to people. I Mean the images speak for themselves the meatballs were inedible. Meat was rock hard from being reheated and loaded fries were not loaded it all came separate and vile! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

Fantastic authentic Greek food all cooked fresh - I’ve possibly been through most of the menu on Deliveroo or in person and every single time it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a simply must visit place to eat in Leicester for me. Beautiful.

Front of house needs to work on communication skills. The lamb souvlaki was overcooked, barely any meat and was in full of chips. Falafel souvlaki was dry and full of chips. Calamari rings were bought in and full of chips. Halloumi fries were bought in....

Great food and very helpful staff. Food portions are great and very tasty. The restaurant was not very busy when we visited in March and service was very quick. Meal portions were so big that we were not able to have any desserts. Highly recommended!
