Grilla in Liverpool

So lecker habe ich lange nicht mehr griechisch gegessen. Das Interieur ist das gleiche wie damals im Grilla, aber die Speisen ne ganze klasse besser. Das Tahini war sensationell lecker, passte 1 a mit dem Pitabrot zusammen. Das Gyrosfleisch wahnsinnig zart und saftig. Richtig richtig gut. Auch die Swedish Meatballs (warum beim Griechen?) waren sehr lecker. Auf jeden Fall mehrere Besuche wert das Souvla!

Este se está convirtiendo rápidamente en uno de mis lugares favoritos para comer en la ciudad antes de ir a ver una banda en el Phil, ya que está a solo 2 minutos. A un precio razonable, comida deliciosa, y siempre parece que nos dan un brownie gratis al final.

Este es con diferencia nuestro restaurante favorito en Liverpool. La comida es excelente. Muy razonable precio y un montón de ella. Las bebidas, el vino y el capuchino son encantadores también y un buen precio. En cuanto al personal. Eliana (lo siento no estoy seguro de la ortografía) y el personal son fantásticos. Mi hija y yo nos encanta en Souvla gracias a ellos, la comida y el hermoso ambiente frío. A nuestros amigos también les encanta. Debes probarlo cuando estés en Liverpool ❤️

Entré temprano el sábado por la noche, no hay problema en conseguir una mesa. Pedido 2 dips que viene con una generosa cesta de pitta. Los baños eran muy buenos y el pan era increíble suave y almohada. Optamos por el plato mixto para compartir carne por 2. Este plato es bastante grande y se obtiene mucha carne, en retrospectiva no habríamos pedido el entrante. Tuvimos que conseguir un carryout ya que no podíamos comer todo Todo estaba muy delicioso, el personal es atento y amable y el precio es realmente razonable. El menú no es enorme y no tienen algunas de las cosas que normalmente verías en un griego no dejes que eso te desanime, ya que lo que hay ahí es delicioso Sin duda volveremos a este pequeño restaurante griego encantador, que es mucho mejor que una gran cadena en la zona.

Estaba buscando un restaurante cerca de la Sala Filarmónica (hemos visitado la mayoría) y encontré este restaurante que está muy cerca. Ambiente inteligente, atento pero informal, Personal muy amable y atento, ambas señoritas no pudieron hacer lo suficiente para ayudarte. Buen menú - la selección de vinos no es la mejor, pero lo que tienen es un buen precio. Éramos una familia de 4 y todos disfrutamos. Enormes porciones, creo que todos luchamos por terminar nuestras comidas. Brownie de cortesía con crema batida para el desierto fue una buena sorpresa. Muy buena relación calidad-precio, era de unas 90 libras para una familia de 4 con entrantes, red, bebidas y una botella de vino! Recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar.

Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, excellent food freshly prepared and full of flavour. Great decor, plenty of space around the tables ! Thoughtful layout so you don’t have to listen to other people’s conversations….

Stumbled on this place online when I was looking for independent places to eat during our trip to Liverpool and I am SO glad that I did! The food was amazing and the portion sizes were very generous. The chef even offered us complimentary brownie for dessert which was very kind (and delicious). The interior was beautifully decorated and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!!

Sadly this place has gone downhill not sure what’s happened ; as ever it’s the details.. the pitta bread was tasteless and tahini tasted like it’s been water diluted; the halloumi was just average suoermarket standard ; the meat souvlaki generally good but for a Greek restaurant shoukd be charcoal not grilled ; the place was empty but seemed busy with the takeaway bikers

First time to Liverpool and we stumbled across this gorgeous Greek restaurant from start to finish it was brilliant from the beginning to the end. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, the food was amazing and the complimentary Chocolate brownie was a gorgeous little touch. It all tasted amazing we will definitely be going back when we next visit Liverpool.

We came last night for the first time and it won’t be the last time. Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. We had lamb chops and chicken gyros and it was amazing.

Walked in without expectation and found the food to be impressive, service excellent, and prices inexpensive. Would recommend completely.

I popped in here for dinner with my partner having done minimal research. Straight away I was impressed with the friendly and attentive staff! The food was literally delicious, generous portions, and clearly prepared by an excellent chef. I hope to come back when I next visit Liverpool - thank you for a lovely evening :)

Came here tonight, had lovely gyros which were reasonably priced. Was nice to get a bottle of still water straight away without asking. 3 staff were lovely, in particular the friendly waitress with the glasses. Not sure if chocolate brownies on the house happens every night but they were most welcome. Restaurant decor nice and toilets were very clean. Will definitely return.

From start to finish we couldn’t fault this place. The booking, service and food was brilliant. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and if you’re planning a visit to the Philharmonic Hall it’s the perfect place to start your evening. I would like to thank Iliada who took my booking and looked after us on the evening. The whole team work very hard to ensure you enjoy your time. Well done to you all and if I’m in Liverpool again I will certainly be popping in.

this is a really nice restaurant with really nice seating, decor and food. the menu is small but what they do, they do really well at a really good price. i would of given 5 stars but we were sat at the table in front of the bi folding doors, lovely summers night air , watching the world go by and then the what i presume is the owner parked himself on a table outside and chain smoked cigarets with the smoke blowing back into our table.

Visited today with a friend, he had been to the other restaurant they have on Allerton Road and enjoyed it. So we were keen to see what the one on Hardman Street was like. Our visits was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was pretty quiet. We were seated quickly, the server gave us the option of where we sat. We were given menus and a glass bottle of ice cold water was given to us. We soon ordered our drinks, a Diet Coke and beer and went for a version of a mixed grill they do for 2. This contained chicken and pork kebabs, sliced chicken, lamb chop, chips, coldslaw, pitta and a spicy gravy. The table was prepared for this and the food was out in 15-20 minutes. The food was excellent, the kebabs and sliced chicken were well cooked and everything had a unique flavour. We are hungry guys but this tray of food filled us easily. The servers was attentive but not overly fussing. They regularly checked all was okay and the food was nice. When we finished. Our table was cleared and much to my surprise we were brought 2 brownies with cream, on the house. These were really nice and although small, it perfectly capped the meal. We were in there roughly 1 and a half hours, and the whole experience was pleasant. The restaurants decor is traditional and clean. The bill came and for the meal for 2 and the drinks only came to £38. Absolute bargain. Highly recommend, we will be back.

Been here a few times now, I think it is one of the best value restaurants in Liverpool. Lovely setting in the outdoor area. We ordered the mixed grill which was superb: lamb chops, souvlaki, chips all excellent, and me and my son were satisfiably stuffed for £30. Service really good and when I wanted to leave a tip, server confirmed that the tips go to them and not into the owners pocket (for me this is really important!) Highly recommended.

Very nice place, cool ambiance. Food was sooooo good and big for the price. Most of all I was impressed by the waitress working and managing several tables + the bar seemingly alone. She did a great job managing us all and always being friendly despite the workload. Complimentary brownies were lovely! Very very good and highly recommend for anyone wanting good food that won’t break the bank 🫶🏻

Visited Grilla for the first time on the weekend & will definitely be coming back. I ordered the mix grilla for 1 and it was huge. Shared it between 3 and even had a doggie bag. The staff are so welcoming, Vaggelis & Maria really looked after us!

me and my partner visited Grilla on friday for our anniversary we had 3 mix grills for 2 they were very tasty and the portions where huge i couldnt fault the food and the staff where so freindly especially vagelis and marie they made us feel very welcome and we will becoming back soon :D

Perfect takeaway! VERY generous portion sizes. Fantastic quality of meat and chips. Delivery was on time and food was still piping hot. This isn't my first time ordering from grilla and it definitely won't be my last. Would highly recommend!

I ate at your Allerton road restaurant last night around 6pm. I had the chicken skewers, chips and salad which I double checked was gluten free. Almost immediately after leaving the restaurant I felt unwell, which proceeded to get considerably worse as the evening went on. I have been vomiting and suffering with diarrhoea all night. I have coeliac disease, this could possibly be a reaction to your food, or it could be something else. Having suffered from this all of my life, I made sure on 4 occasions with 3 members of staff that the food was gluten free and there was no chance of cross contamination. However, I was also slightly alarmed that just moments after ordering my meal, it was served to me. I don’t believe the food could have been cooked within these few minutes. I thought it best to let you know anyway as I was so disappointed and would hate anyone else to suffer the same symptoms. My first meal out after a very long pandemic and I’m so sick. How long had the food been cooked for and left out? Or do you have a cross contamination issue when you claim to be suitable for coeliacs? I am either suffering from food poisoning or my food was contaminated/contained gluten.

Got a take away with my family, spent over £100 on a birthday meal. All food was great however you definitely need to invest in a sharpie pen to write what is inside the container. Spent a lot of time peeling open food to check if it had sauce, if it had chicken, if it was pork, if it was vegetarian. Small things make a big difference:)

Been here once before and also been to the Allerton road establishment food always good and staff tend to be good and are friendly. My last visit here was with my partner just before the pandemic at the end of February 2020 and were joined my his sister and her fiancé. The four of us as previously mentioned had been here once before and loved it. This time the food was still good however the service let it down which is why for the first time Grilla doesn’t get top marks from me. I think the issue was were as last time we had been sat up stairs this time we had been put downstairs as the place was busy although we had booked a couple weeks earlier. We had to wait a good few minutes before being seated and given menus. We knew what we wanted (the platter) so were ready to order quite quickly plus we had a show at the Philharmonic to get too. We waited a while watching staff pass us coming and going upstairs and back down but never stopping to get our order. In the end one of us had to find someone as we were running out of time. Eventually the order was taken and again we were surprised that food took a little while to come as it usually is pretty quick (always the way when you’ve somewhere else to be. Hey!?) We didn’t actually have time to finish everything and in hindsight we’d have been better at this point to have ordered something smaller than the platter. Again we had to go find someone when needing to pay the bill. Because of this I felt a little disappointed and I think the issue was because we were sat downstairs I don’t think there was enough staff to cover both floors as there were a few tables downstairs in use, staff were rushed off their feet. I know usually service is much better than this but for this visit I’ve given it an average score just because we didn’t get too fully enjoy our food and ended up having to rush off having to leave food and drink behind. Also although I’m not someone who feels the cold easily being down in the basement it was pretty cold and there was a slight smell of damp I think it’s a problem along Hardman Street as I’ve noticed the same in another place along here that uses the basement! I would still return as I do like the place and I know it can be better.

heard rave reviews...so gave it ago... absolutely terrible, chicken gyros was cold all the chicken meat was black.. Paid extra for hallumi. That was a ball of cheese thrown in too...chips where cold and soggy.....

Grilla is one of my favourite places to eat in Liverpool, my mrs and I first visited after the first lockdown as part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, and we were not disappointed, the food is sublime everything is very fresh, the service is great, portions are large and filling so much so I had to leave food on the plate and that is not like me at all.

One of my favourite places to dine in the city! The food is always amazing! I’d highly recommend the gyros!

Ordered takeaway from here via Uber Eats. Food arrived on time and still hot! The pork souvlaki was great and the oregano chips were lovely (if a little on the oily side - but very forgivable). Would order from here again and would recommend to others.

Turned up for an impromptu lunch with our son who is currently at Uni in Liverpool. No reservation, no problem. Starters were delicious, halloumi fries and mixed croquettes, very fresh and a good size. 2 chicken souvlaki and a chicken gyros followed, which again were superb. Son was hungover so couldn't do his souvlaki justice. It was promptly packaged in a doggy bag for him to take away and enjoy later on. The finishing touch was a free desert...fresh warm donuts smothered with chocolate sauce. I thought I was too full, but incredibly was able to polish off my portion. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. We will return.

I have been to this restaurant a few times always lovely staff and service, however I did visit last week and was a little disappointed we ordered take away due to COVID 19 the meal was lovely apart from the chips they were hard and not cooked properly the chips are lovely but on this occasion I was a little disappointed I hope if I did return Thai would not happen again apart from thy lovely food and service:)

First visit at Grilla from a recommendation from my daughter. This place is great. We had a lamb gyros, chicken and halloumi gyros with a Greek salad. The fried that come with the gyros are great, I would recommend the garlic mayo too. Everything was great tasting and we was given a lovely dessert at the end for free, nice touch . Hope to be back very soon and will recommend to friends

Been here with my girlfriend a few days ago and we had the Mix Grilla for 2. The platter was fantastic with a variety of freshly cooked meats and chips and it came with salad, pitta and dips. The guys waiting our table were friendly and speedy! Beautiful atmosphere and overall experience!

Photos on Grilla’s website really doesn’t do it justice. This is a lovely small restaurant with a great ambience. The Greek food is delicious and plentiful. Great value and very friendly and helpful staff.

Visited here with family on a Tuesday evening. The place is lovely and cozy with candles and a warm decor. The service was good as well with friendly and attentive staff. We all chose the mixed Souvlaki with some starters. The fried halloumi was amazing and the tahini and humous was perfect with the warm bread. The actual platter was delicious as well and I will definitely be going back.

Saw this place on Trip Advisor and decided it would be a nice pre-cursor to our Anniversary trip to Cristakis the next night. Opted for the takeaway option and I drove down from the Titanic hotel and it was easy to find with on street parking. The place looked very clean and I sat the bar and ordered the Meat Platter for 2 with a side helping of a Chicken Gyros Pitta. Both of these options were excellent and very tasty indeed. Next time we are there we will certainly opt for a sit in meal and I can highly recommend the food.

The food was actually quite lovely (I've attached a photo of the grilla platter for 1 here, it could feed 2 easily it was huge) so portions are decent. But the service was actually appallingly slow. The staff did not seem fussed or bothered about ensuring we had drinks or were happy. We waited an hour between starters and mains and 25 minutes for a bottle of beer. We asked for the bill and they never arrived with the card machine for us to pay so we went up to the bar in the end and paid there. The food is tasty so not an issue there but I would never go again and I wouldnt reccomend because the service is so poor. Im not sure why the staff found it acceptable to serve and tend to others who came in after us. A couple had their entire dining experience in the time it took us to get our main meals. The table of girls behind us and a couple sitting next to us seemed to know one of the waiters and seemed to be getting quicker better service with a smile. We were lucky if our waiter looked in our direction to be honest. Even though the food was nice I cant give them more stars as I dont feel they deserve it. Over all poor customer service.

To be fair the best take away iv probably ever had, amazing quality meat that melted in your mouth.I ordered the mixed grill and the pork gyros because I couldn't make my mind up and both were absolutely sensational.Took me back to eating gyros in Rhodes last year! Need a take away like this in stoke.Thabks for a great take away grilla

Had a take out from Hardman Street 26.06.20 with bugs in food. Previous bad experiance from other Grilla Allerton. Will deffo not be ordering again. Will not recommend to anyone.

Fresh and tasty. Plenty off food and fast delivery, we ordered throught uber eats and we wasnt disapointed at All.Chicken gyros with halloumi was so so delicious.

Got take away from Grilla and was very tasty and good value for money, I will order again and try more from the menu.

Brilliant food! Reminds me Greece so much! I ordered Mix grilla for 2 , Mix Souvlaki and garlic bread with cheese for me and my friend and everyone was happy after the meal! I strongly recommend!!!

Ordered takeaway from here and turned out to be the worst mistake ever. A 1.5 hr wait on a Monday night. Wrong food delivered- blamed Uber eats but it was the restaurant that had got it wrong in fact. Got a soggy gyros with a mouthful of meat in it and some chips instead of a £35 order. Girl on phone very unhelpful didn’t seem bothered and offered awkward silences instead. Avoid, save yourself the misery and go somewhere decent!

I went here on Saturday with my boyfriend for a takeaway. Ordered it 2 hours prior and gave plenty of notice. Got the takeaway and found out our order had been cancelled, no text or email or phone to confirm this. My boyfriend reordered and had to wait a further 30 minutes. Got back into the car to wait and found out he had been charged twice!! Once for the order they cancelled and then for the order we had just had to reorder. We went back in and he said he would refund this however still waiting for the refund, We rang grilla and they only offered us 20% our next order and not a refund for the money. Awful service. Don’t think I’ll be going back here if they scam you out of your money. The food was awful to, cold and tasteless. Avoid this at all costs if you want a nice meal.

We always visit restaurant so thought we would get a takeout. Went in store to order an clearly stated both meal was to be plain no salad or sauce so there was no confusion (due to allergies) drove home which is a 30 minute trip to find it was covered in mayonnaise called the restaurant to be told we was wrong and never stated this?? Which i clearly know i did. Attitude was disgusting making out we are liars and not even an apology. Call ended abruptly so messaged them on facebook which has also been read an blanked. Food is usually gorgeous but wont be visiting again because of this.

We were desperate for a lovely meal from one of our favourite restaurants (as everyone is obviously).Grilla did takeaway/delivery so we decided to order from here for our first lockdown treat. Food (Gyros) was delicious, hot in temperature and quick delivery. The downside was the chips. Soggy and undercooked. Hopefully it was only a one off. Grilla chips are legendary. This needs to be sorted

Got the chicken pitta this first time and a hallumi but with fries. They fill the burger with chips, so less meat but these both wasn’t too bad. Just really soggy from how they package things in brown boxes. We then spent £60 on meats for a few of us the second night, all the meat boxes filled with chips and barley any meat as everything comes with chips but it actually ruined the meal. No pitta given even tho we only ordered meats and were told they come with pittas. Called to complain, was told it was our fault but the funny thing is I ordered it myself so how they blame the person ordering and how clear can you be when ordering meat dishes, chips separate, salad & pittas. It all comes together, really disappointed didn’t end up eating it. Supporting local business during a pandemic you at least expect a good standard or just the same as always but this was poor. Clearly not operating well as a take away.

There are a few places that get the complete package correct and Grilla certainly did. The mixed sharing Souvlaki was very good and would go back when we are in Liverpool again.

Visited here on a Saturday night after going to the comedy club. The girl who served us was very helpful and recommended we try the mix grilla, we definitely weren’t disappointed, it was amazing. The price was very reasonable too

Wanted to try here for ages. Upon our arrival, we were sat at the bar as there were no tables. We were at the bar for around 15 minutes and not once did anyone ask did we want a drink but staff just seemed to be standing around talking to eachother. We were sat down and quickly ordered as we were thirsty and hungry, the meal took 45 minutes to come and when it did, the chips were anaemic. They were white and soggy in the middle but the meat was unreal and the drinks were gorgeous. We asked for the bill and the waiter took 30 minutes to bring out our bill despite reminding him. You then get a free cake which is lovely but the service just ruined it all. I could have coped with the soggy chips if the service wasn't so bad.

We enjoyed both the starters and mains. Very good dips and excellent souvlaki. When we have been before we always ordered Baklava afterwards but this time we were given a complimentary dessert. But it was Brownies and that horrible squirty cream. Both of which I really don't like!

We hadn't booked but when asked if they could fit us in as we where a party of eight it wasn't a problem. The waiter was friendly and showed us to our table. We where took downstairs to a table. We sat at the table on a bench with a rug on the seating. The room was beautifully decorated and later on in the evening the lights where dimed and the ambience was perfect. We all ordered and the food came quickly. Definately value for money and the food was amazing. The ladies toilets where stunning and it was nice to go in somewhere where all aspects of the decore where covered.

Terrible experience. Food took an 2 hours to come as we had been completely forgotten about. People who came an hour after us left before us due to the slow service. Not once were we checked on for drinks. Had to ask about food 3 times and still was half an hour from asking. When the food came it had been thrown together and did not taste appetising at all. When asking to speak to the manager she did not listen to a word I said and kept walking away as I brought up the issues and vilified us for complaining. She knocked 2 pounds off the bill even though they had added a drink we didn’t even receive. We did not even hardly touch the food and paid 35 pound for a hummus and halloumi. Terrible experience, rude management and horrible service, will not return.

Found Grilla on our way to a concert at the Phil! Wish we’d had more time to not have to rush our food. It was a busy Tuesday evening (probably on account of the amazing offer- £12.80 for 3 ‘not-so-small’ plates!). The food was absolutely delicious! Huge portions, beautifully cooked and properly authentic! In fact I’m drooling just recollecting it!

Absolutely delicious when you eat in but ordered twice from deliveroo and its come freezing and unfortunately gyros does not reheat well. Wont order takeaway again but will deffo return to the restaurant.

Tasty meal and excellent value for money on the ‘3 small plates ‘ Tuesday deal - plates were far from small!! £12.50 ( or an extra £2 with a glass of prosecco!), lovely staff, relaxing atmosphere and even complimentary dessert at the end of the evening- highly recommended

This restaurant was amazing! It has a lovely atmosphere and serves some extremely tasty food at an extremely reasonable price. As a student I have always found that restaurants in my price range never seem to serve delicious and tasty food but this restaurant has changed my opinion. The staff were very helpful and service was fast, we even got a desert on the house! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some great food for a reasonable price.

For what was decribed as a student resteraunt, being a student myself i went for a meal with my mother. It didn't look like a student resteraunt at all, not a bad thing! The interior was well decorated yet simple. The food was almost all amazing, especially for the cheap prices. Unfortunately the 'steemed vegetables' were quite obviously from a froze bag, which let the meal down. We were given a free dessert to compensate which was lovely, not many alcohol options though

Really simple and classy restaurant, the food was delicious and it tasted exactly like the food tastes in Greece. I cannot wait to go back!

First visit to Grilla. Booked on line at the restaurant, arrived in good time, shown to table straight away. Service was very slow all night. Had some Hummus to start, a bit bland and boring, then had the mixed souvlaki for 2, Food wasn't great, most of the chips were still raw, meat was pretty tasteless and bland apart from the chicken skewer which was good. Main problem was the service, although staff were friendly service was terribly slow. Ordered 2 glasses of wine. Had to ask twice for them after ordering. Asked for bill and waited, and waited, asked again, then waited and waited, asked again then it came, we had had enough by this point and went to the bar to pay and left. Won't be returning, plenty more restaurants on this street that are much better, only good thing was the 30% off Wednesdays on the Souvlaki, maybe if it was full price, everything would have been better, who knows?

Superb food, the tastiest chicken I've ever had. Great portion sizes, fantastic price, and lovely and cosy inside.

Very nice surroundings, great ambience and fantastic food and very reasonable. If having starters, make sure you mention that you want them first or all food will arrive together!!

Lovely fresh food with great portions , they even put the leftovers in boxes to take home. Water on table as soon as you walk in.. definitely worth the few minutes walk from the centre and so well priced

4 of us came here for a meal before going to the comedy club over the road back in January, we ordered a meat sharing platter and included chips, salad etc. The portions are amazing and the food so tasty well worth it for the price. Staff are lovely and friendly also. Would recommend.

First visit to Grilla Hardman Street. Made very welcome on entry, staff very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent, as was the cost. Would recommend

As heading back to Liverpool we visited here and As I ordered food was good enough,staff friendly and all good.

Tried the one on Allerton road and cause of Christmas shopping got the opportunity to try the one on the center this time , food was very tasty , reasonable prices ,good atmosphere very fast service.

Amazing food brilliant service great atmosphere. Vegetarians starters was delicious. Would recommend to anyone.

Mediterranean menu giving a wide variey of choice but with a Greek slant.

Me and the wife came here yesterday before we went to watch Love Actually with an Orchestra at the Liverpool Phillamonic the staff were great and couldn’t do enough for us. I would recommend this place to anyone the food even had the same taste from when I was living in Cyprus. Top Greek food well and trolley coming again. Thanks
