Latino Taverna in Windsor and Maidenhead

If you want authentic Greek/Cypriot cuisine then you must go eat there - trust me I’m Cypriot & I will definitely be going back there to feast! Greg the owner was so lovely and made us so very welcome - you can’t beat Cypriot hospitality - thank you Greg!! The food is delicious!!!

Return visit to our favorite Greek restaurant in Windsor. Food fantastic as usual so was the service and I highly recommend it. Lots of variety on the menu and great if you’re a vegetarian as well, the stuffed vine leaves were amazing. The restaurant is located near the Guild hall on the cobble streets and it feels like you could be in Greece especially when the weather is nice.

Dined here whilst staying at Windsor Travelodge with my husband. We love Greek food and saw this restaurant whilst walking in The area. We booked a table for 8pm and we're the only people in the restaurant. The waiter was nice and service very good. We both had the Kleftiko as our main meal. On the menu it stated the Kleftiko was served with chips and vegetables but it came with salad. The salad lacked flavour and didn't go well with the rest of the meal. I did point this out to the waiter but he insisted it came with the salad. We had a nice dessert and the bottle of wine we ordered was nice too.

A fantastic meal !!! We had a sharing meze between 4 of us it was an excellent combination of different dishes not one dish disappointed!!! There was so much food we had to decline the dessert but they offered to box it up so we could take it home ….the staff were all lovely & friendly & very attentive we will definitely be returning.

Lovely Greek restaurant with amazing food it feels like your in Greece. Tucked away on the beautiful cobble street near the Guild hall in Windsor I would highly recommend it. Greg the owner is a fantastic host and nothing is too much trouble. The menu has so much to choose from my favorite is the Beef Stiffado.

We made a last minute visit to Windsor with family who were visiting from Australia. We stumbled across this lovely restaurant 30 mins before they were closing, they were very accommodating and helpful and we didn’t feel rushed. The service was amazing as was the food. I will definitely visit again next time I’m in Windsor. The kids loved the souvlaki!!

Have been here several times over the years, most recently Friday evening and as ever the food and wine were very good. I'd recommend the full house meze if 2 or more are happy to share it. The range of course, portions sizes and value for money are all excellent. The dips are delicious and the prawns, Loukanica sausages and stifado were all standouts.

I like Greek food but this was pretty poor quality. We tried all the dishes on their mixed meze menus and other than the pitta and dips, the rest was pretty unappealing. Shame as it looks nice and you can eat al fresco on a lovely cobbled street. Prices too high for quality of food. Portions were large to be fair.

This is one of Windsor hidden gem Greek restaurant. Very clean absolutely fresh , delicious homemade food . The food portion is very generous and I recommend moussaka and the special lunch meze . To end a gourmet , cooked to Greek perfection lunch , a homemade bakclava dessert is a must.

We were in Windsor for a day trip. We were staying in central London but got the direct 50 minute train from Waterloo. After the castle and shopping, we were hungry so came to Latinos for dinner. The food was delicious and we said we would have eaten there again the next night if we could. Unfortunately, I left a new pair of shoes I had bought that day under the table. When I rang back, Conrad who served us the previous day was very kind and helpful and offered to post the shoes to me if I paid the postage. I have just received my shoes. Latinos really go above and beyond for their customers!

Visited here as part of 50th birthday celebrations. The food was out of this world, the owner was friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely worth a visit, excellent location and great atmosphere.

Excellent Freshly cooked and tasteful food, the menu has a great selection of food, starters,main,deserts and the drinks menu plentiful. This restaurant has a great vibrant atmosphere in the heart of Windsor and is spotlessly clean,cutlery plates and glasses pristine. The manager and all staff are very friendly and polite always around if you need anything. I will a hundred percent be coming back and would highly recommend to anyone.The prices very reasonable.

Had a lovely lunch for my 60th birthday with family & friends, and Greg was the perfect host. The food was fantastic I had the Beef Stifado which I would highly recommend and the Latino special cocktail. This restaurant is such a little gem on the cobbled streets near Windsor Castle and I will be going back again, it feels like your in Greece when your there.

Se las arregló para conseguir una mesa al aire libre en un ajetreado sábado a la hora del almuerzo sin una reserva. Me encantó el entorno, con las mesas exteriores en las calles adoquinadas a muy poca distancia del Castillo de Windsor y directamente fuera del salón del gremio.Pedimos del menú del almuerzo mezze, que era 17 por persona, muchas salsas con pan pitta caliente, seguido de calamares en masa ligera y mejillones en chile dulce, queso feta y salsa de crema y finalmente souvlaki de pollo, salchicha griega, albóndigas, halloumi y ensalada griega. La comida era deliciosa y suficiente para los dos. La única queja es que los mejillones eran arenosos, no es un problema para mi pareja, pero no es de mi agrado. Pero volvería de nuevo seguro.

Reservé una mesa para el almuerzo del lunes festivo en agosto, y lo hicimos bien porque estaban rechazando a la gente. El menú del almuerzo era un poco limitado, pero la calidad de la comida era de primera clase. Porciones de buen tamaño y llegó caliente. Had a mini break in Windsor a staycation during the virus . Arrived on a Tuesday forgetting that the governments “ Eat out to help out “ scheme was on so found it very difficult to get booked into anywhere in Windsor but we must have looked hungry as the kind owner at Latinos squeezed us in at 5.15 . Our table was upstairs, all nicely spaced and clean .We shared the mini Meze starter .Delicious dips and warm pita bread . Yummy olives and potato salad . For main we had the Kleftiko , melt in your mouth tender lamb . Sooooo good . Really enjoyed our meal , great service and appreciated getting a table . This restaurant is in a charming street right next to Windsor Castle . A must visit .

During the heat of early August we were happy we found this Greek restaurant in a cobblestone alley turned into a pedestrian walk way. Lunchtime (but maybe not so later in the afternoon) the outdoors tables were in full shade. The service was welcoming and pleasant each day were joined them for lunch. The first day we had the set lunch The Latino lunch meze started with a selection of dips including humus, tzatziki, taramasalata, melitzanosalata, potato salad, tabouli salad, olives and chillies, served with a basket of hot pitta bread…The fish course consisted of calamari fried in a light batter and large mussels cooked in our delicious sweet chili, feta and fresh cream sauce. The final course was comprised of chicken souvlaki, loukanica sausage, keftedes meatballs, halloumi cheese and Greek salad.

I went with my mother and 3 children we got the two Menzies at £33 each plus a couple of other dishes. We got very small portions and when the kebabs came out we got 1 chicken and 1 pork kebab between me and my mother.I would like to know what u would get if 1 person was getting a Menzie at £33 per head. Two of my children got an ice cream because my mother and I got a Menzie each but my third child got charged £6.80 for a couple of scoops of ice cream.The bill was £140.Also it was £12 for service on top of the £140. Bad value for money.

What more can I say, we come back every year. The staff are great and the food amazing. We always get the Meze and it seems to be more each year ( reliably informed its not). Looking forward to returning next July.

We booked the late sitting which was from 19:30 to 21:30. This was one of our first Restuarant outings since the pandemic began and lockdown ended.We were welcomed and shown to our table and looked after all evening by Greg, who I must say is the perfect host.He advised us on the Greek wine available which we were very happy to explore and guided us through the menu.We had the Cold Meze with the usual Greek dips accompanied by some very fresh and excellent Calamari.Main courses were Stiffado and Chicken Kebab all served with Greek Salad, Rice, Pilafi and tzatziki. All very well presented and tasted superb.I can most certainly recommend this Restuarant and with Greg at the helm you have the perfect host.See you again very soon Greg. Already looking forward to my next visit

We booked a table for lunch for my sisters birthday the food was lovely the meze for two people was great so much food and fantastic value.Staff excellent friendly waitress and Greg the owner very helpful as always. We had some lovely cocktails one of them the Latino special which I would recommend.This restaurant is one of the best Greek restaurants I’ve ever been to and I plan to visit again in the near future.

Habíamos reservado una mesa para 4 para el sábado 22 de febrero y, como la mayoría de la gente, había revisado el menú en su sitio web. Era un menú muy completo y variado y sobre esa base reservamos una mesa. A la llegada nos dieron un menú muy breve y el propietario nos dijo (creemos) que dos chefs no estaban allí porque tenían un duelo familiar y los chefs que quedaron no eran capaces de cocinar todos los platos en el menú completo y se trataba de acortar el menú o cerrar por la noche. Lo que deberían haber hecho es contactar todas las reservas y avisarles de la situación. Habíamos viajado una hora para llegar allí y quedamos muy decepcionados. Pero si eso no fuera lo suficientemente malo, las porciones eran escasas y todos los platos estaban tibios. ¡Sin embargo, no se dio ningún descuento en la factura! !

La primera visita a latinos y aunque es bastante un pequeño restaurante hay un buen ambiente allí y el personal era amable y acogedor.El menú tenía una gran selección de platos y algo para todos los gustos. La comida estaba excelentemente preparada y el tamaño de la porción generosa. Volveremos para otra visita.

El pez espada era agradable, aunque no muy sabroso, era bastante carnoso.Al parecer, el pollo no era genial.

Lovely Greek/Cypriot resaurant in te centre of the town. Excellent choice of food from both countries & music on the first floor from about 8|:30 pm, very entertaining Friendly service and reasonably priced, I had the lamb cutlets which were fantastic

Great food, smiley, helpful staff and good value for money too. We tried several different starters and mains and enjoyed them all - the lamb cutlets went down particularly well. Good mix of Greek and Mediterranean food and the wine was reasonably priced with a nice choice available.

We visited this evening and sat outside. Menus arrived promptly, food and beverages arrived in a timely fashion. We had a mixed platter and calamari to start - both very tasty and served hot. The main course mixed grill was delicious. As more diners started to eat indoors as the night went on, the service outside slowed down. Took a fair amount of time for our coffee to arrive. Overall a pleasant but not cheap evening.

Starters are £5-6 each. We shared a Greek salad and calamari dish. Salad was not very authentic. Contained mostly lettuce with few olives and little feta with no traditional herbs. Calamari was better value for money. For our main meal we both ordered a Stifado dish priced at £19.95. The dish was very tasty but again lacked the authentic Greek element. There were no baby onions as you would expect with this dish and the rice was a better option compared to chips, which were a little on the soggy side. Lovey inviting restaurant but overpriced.

From start to finish our three course meal was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere and the service was excellent. We visited as a prelude to leaving for our holiday and it was a great start to our vacation.

We couldn't take our wedding party to Greece so we bought Greece to them at Latinos & we can only say that it was absolutely amazing. The service, food, care & consideration was unbeatable from start to finish - Greg, the manager took time to understand our needs and leading his team provided a seamless service. We had a group of 30 & took the first floor of the restaurant which we could decorate & this allowed us to be away from others eating downstairs. The restaurant laid on traditional music which developed to more modern as the evening went on & every one of our friends & family were up dancing - even my 86 year old father! The food as always was delicious and plentiful. We wanted to offer our guests a meze (& not the standard one size fits all wedding meal) & give them a taste of various mediterranean dishes - some had never eaten this type of food before but all agreed that it was wonderful & that this has encouraged them to try these dishes again whilst some who are use to this cuisine agreed that it was the best they had ever tasted, with specific reference to the swordfish, mussels in tomato sauce, stifado & souvalaki. The food was accompanied by great greek/cypriot wines and Mythos/Keo beer which everyone enjoyed & we even kicked off the party with fabulous jugs of cocktails. The whole afternoon/evening was relaxed and felt very special, over two weeks later my friends and family are still talking about Latinos - how they ate so much and wish they had paced themselves, and my mother who says it is the best wedding she has ever been to ... my sister has tried not to take offence! ;-) We cannot recommend this little gem of a restaurant enough, they made our wedding, took away our stress and gave everyone an event to remember. If you were looking for a venue for a small wedding party, birthday/anniversary celebration & want great food and to truly be looked after you do not need to look any further. After just returning from our honeymoon we will be returning to Latinos soon but this will be for a romantic meal, seated downstairs or weather permitting outside on the cobbles looking onto the Guild Hall & Castle where we know we will still be guaranteed a perfect evening of food, drink and friendliness.

After sightseeing Windsor we decided to stop for a late lunch. We were searching for a place with fresh food with healthier alternatives for my mother-in-law who has some health related food requirements. We definetly made the right choice, food was amazing, fresh, the waiter relayed all our requirements for my mother-in-law and to top it off the weather was perfect. Thank you accomodating our needs and for a lovely lunch.

This was our annual visit ( we come down South racing the same week every year). This restaurant is the highlight of our week away. The food and staff never disappoint. Even better this year was we were able to sit outside due to the weather. Highly recommended and you must try the meze
