Retsina in Liverpool

Absolutely lovely meal. Service excellent. We were visiting Liverpool for 3 days and spent our last night here. Was concerned as its been about 15 years since we last ate here but the standard was still amazing. Will be returning when we visit again

Visited this restaurant a couple of times over the years, but it's been a few years since our last visit. I'd almost forgotten just how lovely it is. Cosy setting with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The food was just superb! We had the 5 course Meze, and it is tremendous value for money. I can't wait to go back!

What a cracking place this is. Been a few times over the years, the food is great, atmosphere a wee slice of Greece, staff are exceptional. The Greek Meze is great value for money!

We’ve been regular visitors over the years but this was our first since Lockdown. It was a welcome return. It’s still as cosy and comfortable as we remembered. We brought some out of town friends and they were delighted. We had Humous (2), Keftedes, Dolmades, Pistachio, Afelia, Moussaka and Stifado. We were all pleased with our orders. With drinks the total bill was just over £90, which we thought was reasonable. Great service from the Mother and Daughter team and I’m sure we won’t leave it as long next time.

Our first visit. Food was hot and home made. All very fresh and not processed. The real chips were amazing! The waitress was lovely with our son and even the chef came out of the kitchen and made a fuss of him. The spicy prawns were amazing. We will definitely return. Don’t be put off by the authentic Greek decor. It’s slightly dated by todays standards but has a lovely feel about it and is spotlessly clean. We went on a Thursday night and hadn’t booked, unlike every other table. We were lucky to get a table, it seems very popular.

Have visited this restaurant many times. The food is always fabulous. Truly great authentic Greek food.

Been to retsina few times before...but ohhh what has happened? Seating on back wall awful!...wife fell off seat because not wide enough...she is a size 10!...person before on other side fell off too! Told staff and was told its for 2 people.....ordered meze...food ok but last dish was very very dry! Sorry will not be returning... be careful of the 15% off before 7!....you have to be OUT at 7.....not good sorry

We love this restaurant, which is only a couple of hundred yards from our house. The staff are so welcoming and it has a really cosy, friendly atmosphere. The decor is Greek, with Greek background music. The food can only be described as amazing! We loved everything we had and can’t wait to go back again!

Really enjoyable night. Friendly staff. Great food. Small place but you feel comfortable and well looked after. Would recommend it and we will be going back.

The place had enough people to give atmosphere but not too many to make it feel unsafe. The food was spot on. Great portions, well cooked. Set menu provided good choice and was great value. Staff were friendly. Really glad we went.

This is a lovely , family run restaurant. I have been here a few times and never been disappointed. The staff are all lovely and very attentive to your needs. There is a standard menu where you can have two or three courses from the menu for a set price but in all fairness the prices are reasonable so we ordered off the main menu. Two starts, mains and drinks under £50.00. Food excellent. Ambience of the restaurant perfect. Would highly recommend.

Food is ok , but to be fair it’s a good price for 2 courses on set menu , just wish they would ditch the frozen veg and frozen roast potatoes , nice staff , really busy so good atmosphere

We were a table of 6 visiting on a last minute decision and Retsina were very accommodating. The staff were lovely and friendly and nothing too much trouble. Food was very nice and was reasonably priced at £9.95 for a two course. Only negative thing is it was quite chilly in there and could have done with a some kind of heating on.

Went with friends last night had a terrific meal, a very clean resting, pleasant efficient staff with open kitchen, we had fixed price menu this had extensive varied choice, I had meatballs to start and mixed grill, good quality food and a nice wine choice. I had to bring some home, as portion size is good. My friend had chicken retsina I did try some, I will have that next time. Very reasonable prices, can’t wait to come back.

Just had a takeaway. Got holoumi and chicken wings to start and chicken kebabs for mains. All very nice

Con la situación actual de bloqueo, decidimos pedir la opción de comida para llevar de este restaurante para nuestro regalo de fin de semana de Pascua el sábado por la noche. Menú de 2 platos para 11. 99. Estuve esperando esto toda la semana, pero luego muy decepcionado con la comida, los champiñones con ajo para empezar eran insípidos y muy aguados, el plato principal era kebab de pollo picante y picante, el pollo estaba desafortunadamente muy seco y no era agradable comer, no había salsa, nuevamente insípido. También pedimos dos porciones de papas fritas que se anunciaban como caseras, lamento decir que no eran caseras, sino congeladas y no agradables, de hecho, mi esposa terminó haciendo nuestras propias papas fritas caseras para acompañar las comidas. Así que, en general, muy decepcionado y no lo recomendaría, una pérdida de más de 30 por comida de mala calidad, no volveremos

We visited this restaurant after a trip to the circus and what a great way to finish our evening off. If you are unsure of what meal I strongly recommend the Strombi, absolutely delicious.

Delicious Greek food at a reasonable price. Authentic cuisine and the decor is brilliant as well. First time visiting today, will be back again. Staff are also very friendly and welcoming.

I have never been to a Greek restaurant before, and Retsina did not disappoint. Lovely cosy restaurant and friendly staff. We shared a garlic bread starter and I opted for a mixed kebab for the main - it certainly wasn't like the grisly takeaway kebabs I am familiar with. The restaurant wasn't too busy either on a Sunday evening which made for a relaxing dining experience.

Tuve una comida aquí esta noche, y aunque el servicio fue A 1 y mi entrante de ensalada griega muy agradable, las gambas que tuve fue diferente a todo lo que he probado antes. Sin sabor alguno, y una consistencia muy extraña, más como papilla. Los productos de pescado en Google y aparentemente inferiores se pueden utilizar picados con una cantidad mínima de cigalas. No me impresionó esto ya que no era barato. También esperaba algunos buenos chips gruesos pero estaban pálidos y delgados.

Visitamos Retsina anoche y tuvimos el meze. Pedimos solo para 2 personas ya que nuestras niñas no comen mucho, me alegro de no haber pedido para ellas, así como había una gran cantidad de comida, no pudimos terminar el último curso. Todo muy bien cocinado y delicioso, nuestras chicas realmente disfrutaron el curso de pescado. El servicio fue excelente, muy amable y relajado. En general, una noche encantadora, gracias a todo el personal por hacerla una.

We booked in for the second sitting at Retzina on New Year's Eve. We received a warm and friendly greeting from the owner and the two young servers who were also super friendly.A family of three we orderered cold mixed dips to start which were all delicious especially the Tzatsiki! There was plenty to go around.For mains we ordered the retzina chicken the Greek mixed grill and the hot starters with rice and chips. The chips were home made and the best of any Greek restaurant, the rice was also very good and clearly very fresh.The Greek salad was lovely. And the staff were happy to make changes! The feta was absolutely delicious! The grill and hot starters were excellent all of the meat was very tender and well cooked and everything we ate was perfect.The chicken retzina was lovely in a really good sauce and the server's recommendation for this was perfect.Overall we had a great time the food was brilliant and all of the staff were lovely and friendly total cost for the bill was extremely reasonable we will definitely be back thank you Retzina!!!

Escuché en la vid que Retsina hizo un Meze para dos personas a un precio razonable. Fuimos el domingo por la noche y nos recibió el dueño, que nos hizo sentir bienvenidos. Puso una mesa más grande para poder poner los platos de Meze sin hacinamiento. Pedimos una botella de vino que era muy razonable y deliciosa y realmente combinaba con la comida.Los cursos seguían llegando y todas eran porciones increíbles y muy sabrosas.La comida terminó con chuletas a la parrilla y carnes con papas fritas, que con toda honestidad no pudimos terminar ya que estábamos llenos.En general, la comida tardó dos horas y media porque queríamos tiempo para disfrutar de cada plato. El propietario y el "esposo" somos muy agradables y el ambiente era muy relajado. Hemos decidido llevar a nuestra familia allí en un futuro cercano.

Supongo que el título lo resume realmente, tuvimos una gran comida servida por un joven muy agradable. Es un restaurante pequeño pero el ambiente era cálido y amable. El menú era típicamente griego y excelente relación calidad-precio con un menú fijo que tenía tantas opciones que era difícil elegir.

Fuimos con amigos el viernes por la noche. El menú es bastante extenso, y hay un menú fijo con 2 platos para 9. 95, 3 cursos para 11. 95) Muy buen valor, pensamos. El arroz, las papas fritas y la ensalada son adicionales, pero a 2 para arroz o papas fritas, y 1. 80 para la ensalada, sigue siendo muy buena relación calidad-precio. Dos de nosotros comimos taramasalata para empezar, uno tenía champiñones y otro morrallas. Los entrantes fueron servidos con pan, que estaba incluido en el precio. Todos disfrutamos nuestros entrantes.

Great value, gorgoeous food, lovely staff ! We ate with our two kids and we all enjoyed the set menu. All our food was delicious and the portion size excellent.

Everything about this place is fab. We didn’t book but they managed to squeeze us in which we are extremely grateful for. The lamb kebab was the best I’ve ever tasted and the calamari was fresh & tasty. Highly recommend

Reservé una mesa para dos anoche. La posición de la mesa era muy buena, la comida era absolutamente excelente! Mi esposa tenía aceitunas y yo tenía una sabrosa salchicha y ensalada de ajo caliente. El vino que tuvimos fue un magnífico blanco griego que complementa la comida. Los platos principales fueron cordero y con arroz con azafrán y las raciones eran muy generosas. El servicio fue realmente bueno y el ambiente cálido, amigable con un murmullo de conversación entre los muchos comensales. En general, tuvimos una agradable velada y definitivamente visitaremos Retsina nuevamente. Altamente recomendado.

Visited Retsina with the in-laws for their wedding anniversary and yet again we were not disppointed. Never had any issues when eating here. All our meals were cooked to perfection. Can't recommend Retsina enough. Always a warm welcome.

We went as a family for a quick tea!! We where greeted by a friendly face, which was welcoming and made us feel relaxed. Food was lovely, plenty of choice very reasonable price both for food and drinks!! Great atmosphere, had a really enjoyable night! My daughter can't wait to go again just to learn French.. The owner will know what I'm talking about! Can't wit to go again!! Great evening

We went as our fave Greek cypriana was closed, the guy who owns it is south African I believe and is lovely and the chef is from zorbas originally I'm sure..but not for us, food was bland and tasteless, the halloumi was burnt and the meat was dry and overcooked, chips where frozen and done in a deep fat fryer and greasebound, the Greek mixed grill was like a brick, n looked like it had been left on way 2 long and the retsina chicken was bland and uninteresting no presentation skills ..crap lettuce and huge slices of cucumber on the side???...plus if u want rice..u pay extra..and annoying Greek guitarist who is on repeat on a TV serves as the background music, with low level lighting also and a dated decor just made the whole experience terrible...the Keo was nice and the desserts but other than that...awful, I'd say go and get a cooking lesson from cypriana as they are packed all the time ...shame as literally 15 mins away from us.

What can I say about this restaurant the food was edible can’t say nice the wine was awful staff were nice and friendly but wouldn’t be returning in a hurry

This restaurant is local for me - only up the top of my road and I have visited many times, not sure if the owners have changed as the menu was slightly different than normal, ordered the lamb kleftico which was beautifully cooked and fell from the bone, however the veg that came with it had hardly seen any boiled water and where very hard therefore left uneaten, the roast potato (juts the one) that came with the meal was an Aunt Bessie potato - proper Kleftico has the potato cooked with it and should have that lovely lamb flavour and the jacket potato was cooked in the microwave - I know this as the kitchen is open and I saw them remove it from the microwave, this is supposed to be a home cooked food restaurant and I unfortunately was very disappointed on what is normally very good food, it may be a while before I retrun

This is a fantastic little family run restaurant, we dropped in ad-hoc on a busy Saturday evening and they managed to work around us, the service could not be faulted.

First visit to this restaurant. Would highly recommend this place. It’s very clean. The staff were so accommodating to my partner who is gluten free. The most important thing is the food. This was amazing. If you haven’t been here then it is a must.

He estado viniendo a la Retsina durante unos 17 años y nunca me ha decepcionado. El 17 de febrero, reservé una mesa para mi 50 para 16 personas WOW, que nos lo pasamos de maravilla. La comida era como siempre increíble muy sabrosa y grandes porciones y los propietarios y el personal eran fabulosos todo el mundo cuidó de nuestra fiesta mucho. Si desea una comida sabrosa y saludable con un fantástico servicio de atención, visite este encantador restaurante familiar que no le decepcionará. Espero mi próxima visita.

Visité Retsina por primera vez en más de 5 años, me mudé del área y sigue siendo exactamente como lo recuerdo. La comida es muy buena y el servicio excelente. Cuando llegamos, solo había una persona esperando en las mesas, sirviendo en el bar y clasificando las facturas de las personas, pero nunca tuvimos que esperar demasiado para ser atendidos a pesar de estar relativamente ocupados. La cocina está en vistas abiertas del restaurante, que siempre creo que es agradable ver la comida producida. Teníamos el menú fijo de 2 platos con kebabs, estos venían con ensalada, patatas fritas eran extra sin embargo, una porción era suficiente para dos de nosotros. T 4 los dos entrantes que tuvimos fueron encantadores, en particular el "humum asado" que mi esposa dijo que era INCREÍBLE.

This is quite a little gem, the staff are polite and attentive, the food is lovely and the atmoshere is very relaxed.

My husband and I had a truly wonderful meal here and enjoyed every minute.

Early evening visit to this restaurant, I had the Calamari for starter and mixed grill as main, my wife had the vine leaves for starter and beef stifado for main. Both meals were well cooked and tasty, the portions huge. Drink selection was excellent, we were served by the owner who was very friendly and gave great service. Cost of the meal was very reasonable, and we will definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

Having visited Retsina half a dozen times now, I wonder why we havnt left a review earlier?

Lovely little place, very welcoming. Unfortunately some portions are very small , vegetables were frozen and the drinks overpriced.

As soon as we walked into the restaurant we felt like we were in Greece. Lovely atmosphere, friendly welcome from the family. Food was cooked to perfection. Calamari starter was tender and tasty. Taramasalata was the real thing not this supermarket stuff. 4 (yes 4!) perfectly cooked lamb chops and chicken in white wine later and we were impressed. Thank you to the whole family for a fabulous night.

I feel extremely disappointed with my new local. Having recently moved into the area, me and my partner have been trying various restaurants. I had high hopes in this restaurant due to their good reviews and partner’s old memory of the place from years back. Our starters (garlic bread and lentil and lamb soup) were flavourless and underwhelming. Our mains were very poor. The chicken and pork were so tough and tasted as though they were microwaved from frozen and then thrown onto a grill. The sausage was inedible. It was such cheap quality meat. The sauce was nice and I liked their homemade chips. Their rice was very unpleasant however. Again, it tasted microwaved - it was so dry and flavourless. The only taste was due to the hideous tasting spice sprinkled on the top of it. I would give this restaurant 1 star for the food but the waiter was so accommodating and genuinely concerned about our experience. I felt very sorry for him having to serve such woeful dishes. Without asking the waiter also knocked off a supplement charge as he knew we were not pleased with our food.

Pasado este restaurante muchas veces sin pagar una visita, que cambió en la última noche y nos sentimos nunca llamado antes. Retsina es un restaurante familiar donde te hacen sentir bienvenido en cuanto entras por la puerta. La comida era excelente, elegimos una selección de entrantes y tenía la berenjena y kleftiko psiton y la carne de cordero se cayó del hueso. Costo de la comida y las bebidas eran muy razonables y la comida terminamos con una copa de ouzo, que nos hicieron sentir que estábamos de vuelta en Grecia en vacaciones la única tragedia griega aquí es si no regreso por unos segundos.

Visitamos el domingo con mi hijo, había 5 en el restaurante el camarero. inc. Una vez que la orden fue tomada tanto utilizamos el baño estaba impecable, siempre importante. Nuestro halloumi era bueno y nuestro principal llegamos pronto después de que habíamos terminado nuestra entrada, mi hijo tenía pollo kebab con patatas fritas que él luchado hasta el final, tenía pollo y arroz, que era excelente. Nos gustó especialmente que no nos molestó durante toda la comida y el ambiente era justo. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo.

We eat here occasionally, food has always been good with excellent friendly service. We keep going back for more and have recommended Restina to Freund's and family.

Yo y mi marido con frecuencia comer en Retsina. Siempre nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y el servicio del personal es de los mejores Iv jamás. Seguimos yendo porque la comida es de alto nivel y de la increíble experiencia. Es también muy razonable. Sin duda recomiendo a todo el mundo a probar. Usted no será decepcionado.

4 de nosotros visitamos el Retsina esta noche. El restaurante estaba bastante lleno. Lugares donde nuestros pedidos y las bebidas servidas. Cuando la comida llegó a la mesa el camarero la salsa grasosa dividido de una comida a la chaqueta de cara sleave de mi esposa. El camarero se disculpó y fuimos de un spray de limpieza. A mi me fumigaron la chaqueta shock y pasaron mientras la comida estaba todavía en la mesa delante de ella. Después de que la aceitosa mancha dryed todavía estaba allí. Él se ofreció a mi esposa una botella de cerveza o una copa de vino. Al final de la comida mediocre de otro miembro del personal lo intentó de nuevo para rociar la chaqueta. Mi mujer se negó. El miembro del personal a la izquierda el restaurante para ir a una tienda a comprar mi esposa una bañera de disolvente, así que ella podría lavar la chaqueta cuando llegamos a la casa. Absolutely beautiful and delicious food. We came here for a celebratory meal. We were not disappointed, food was cooked perfectly, wine was excellent and we loved the fresh and flavoursome salad. The staff were friendly and knowledgable. Ordered extra salad dressing to go with the chips as it was so tasty!!!

Las setas gatlic estaban aguados y le faltaba sabor, casi ningún ajo. La ensalada era salada y lo que me anoyed fue cuando pedimos pan y aceite, manteca, que la mayoría de los restaurantes ofrecen únicamente pitter pan era de un paquete. Las verduras verduras. También era paquete Lo mejor de la comida fue el filete y salsa diannne, que era preciosa. En general, no a comer aquí de nuevo. La comida podría ser mucho mejor.

The food here is quite good but make sure to book early to get a table down stairs as upstairs has no atmosphere and feels a bit like a school canteen.

For an authentic Greek meal visit here. Food was delicious! My husband wouldn’t stop raving about the calamari, the best he has had in years. Our waiter Reed was really helpful and friendly. Food was home made and tasted really authentic. Lovely gem of a place. Will be visiting again

enjoyed greek banquet, lots and lots of courses, too many in fact. All of which were delicious.. The family run business is popular and many people return, and I will be one of them for sure.

Went on bank holl monday to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary 8 adults and 3 kids. We wernt rushed at all food and drinks arrived in appropriate amount of time. Food was gorgeous highly reccomend this place cant wait to go back.

We arrived early Saturday evening with our Daughter a high chair was provided Retsina has a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step inside and the quality of the food is superb authentic Greek food at its best it’s our favourite restaurant in Liverpool for Greek cuisine and we have been to quite a few. We will keep returning it is worth traveling to Retsina if your not in the area as it’s simply the best!

Not been here for a while after a very poor visit some time ago. This visit however was very different. Service was very good and food very tasty and plentiful. Just two points of contention - menu states that the chips are homemade and although the chips are quite tasty I am sure they are frozen supermarket type also dropping the children's menu is a big mistake.

A group of 16 sat down to enjoy the Greek meze and what an evening it was! Friendly staff, nothing rushed and a thoroughly enjoyable evening of great food and good company. Course after course was placed in front us, piping hot, fresh and tasty. Four hours flew by in an instant.

This was my 3rd visit here. I was recommended the chicken Retsina by the owner after my first visit and I’ve ordered it on every visit since. Absolutely delicious. Friendly staff and quick service. Authentic Greek food. Great atmosphere! Highly recommended!!!

Called on a wet miserable Friday night as we were staying nearby. Wasn't sure if we would get a table as we hadn't booked as soon as we arrived we were shown to a table and ordered 2 bottles of Mythos. The menu isn't massive I ordered a chicken dish and my husband went for stiffado both well presented and tasty. Loved listening to the Greek music playing in the background.

Love coming back to this place -it has consistently good food and very friendly service. Superb with families.

Lovely family run restaurant. We have been going to Retsina for many years. Always enjoy the food, my favourite at the moment is the lamb kebab absolutely delicious. I went here on Friday for my birthday. food was lovely but we were overcharged nearly £15. i queried the bill as we had been charged for 5 3 course set menus but there were only 4 i was told it was the cheapest way to do it (as another had a meal from main menu) . We left because we had other places to go to but i wasn't convinced so when i got home i did a quick total up of what we actually had and we had definitely been over charged. Unfortunately nothing I could dio about it now as we had left the bill and cash on the table. SO I SAY CHECK YOUR BILL CAREFULLY

Have been coming here for years. The food is amazing. I would recommend the mixed kebab and the keftedes. The family owners make everyone feel so welcome and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are back on a Greek holiday.

This is the greatest Greek restaurant in the whole of Merseyside. My wife and I ordered the Meze - our usual order in Greek restaurants - and we both agreed that this is the finest of the lot. Everything from the salad and dips, right through to the kebab and chips at the end is the finest we have ever tasted. The owner spent a lot of time with us, explaining how he makes the dishes and what it is that makes them so different from other restaurants. What a lovely man - nothing was too much trouble for him and what was clear was his passion for good food and his determination to provide the best food possible. A warm welcome, great food, a wonderful atmosphere (even though it was a fairly quiet night) - I'm never going to another Greek restaurant and will only go to Retsina in the future!

This is our third visit to Retsina's!! Good value for money and plenty, tasty, well worth the wait food.

Came here earlier this month oh myGod was unbelievable!! We ordered ribs ( I never ever would get ribs) and wow am made up we did they were amazing An the meat just dropped of the bone, the gentleman gave us water with lemon in an we didn't even touch it as if just fell meals were gorgeous can't wait to go again

Spent 40pounds for drinks, kids meal and 2 courses for my wife and me.The space is quiet small and the decor....Our waiter was nice he should relax a bit.Food was a lot worth for the money.We will go back to try some real greek food

Lovely atmosphere, the best lamb I've tasted literally fell off the bone.This place has the feeling like you have just walked in to a traditional Greek home and you are being served straight from the kitchen. Very homely.

I have driven past several times and always wanted to try this place as it looks lovely from the outside.We had the most amazing food the staff were so helpful and helped me with the menu as i am allergic to cheese. We chose the tapas option which they made to suit my allergy requirement. If you go early and pay cash its an anazing discount. Cant wait to go again

After a long period of absence (due to a number of reasons) my partner and I had the most delicious meze supported by the most attentive staff as this authentic Greek restaurant. The price of our meal and wine were perfectly reasonable and we shall be returning very soon. Don't miss out on this lovely inner city gem.

I had driven past this restaurant on many occasions but was always a bit hesitant to try here as doesn't really look to be anything special from the outside. However I was really impressed with the food here. Went for the mid week special which was really reasonable. Very friendly staff too.

We love to visit this lovely restaurant but haven't been fir a while. We decided to visit again on Sunday and we were very glad we did, as always the food and atmosphere and welcome was top class, we love this gem of a place.

My whole family love retsina but as we have young kids we can't go often enough. I recently found out they do takeaways and they don't disappoint. If you want a lovely fresh takeaway meal without the guilt of a greasy chippy I can't recommend it enough. Lovely staff and great food every time we've been, what more can you ask for?

A nice evening with tasty food and very friendly staff.Ran out of prosecco so had to try some awful Greek wine.

We have visited and had takeaway from here several time's, as I wasn't feeling 100% we decided to order takeaway.Really wish we hadn't bothered.We ordered the hot & cold starters and a mixed kebab with chips.All the cold starters looked the same grey colour with loads of paprika on top, it was very hard to tell which was the hummus or tahina. And I've never had grey taramasalata and I'm still not convinced it was? The Greek salad was chunks of cucumber, tomatoes with limp brown lettuce and NO feta drowning in vinegar!The hot starters were a lot better but as it was supposed to be for 2 people having only 1 of each item ment we had to cut everything in half ?As for the mixed kebab of chicken & lamb, all I can say is the lamb was inedible and I gave up after 2 mouthfull of the chicken.We won't be going back and next time we fancy a takeaway kebab will go the local pizza place for a quarter of the price.

We have been so delighted to discover this Greek gem of a restaurant close to our home. We have been a few times now with our 2 year old son. The food is incredible - authentic and fresh - and we have felt very welcomed. We are looking forward to our next visit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend :)

Visited with 3 young children EARLY evening. My 1 year old son was walking around the very empty upstairs area of the restaurant, a very rude waiter approached us and asked for us to stop our children from running around?? Apparently there were loud thuds downstairs, loud thuds from a child who weighs 24lb??? My friend just so happened to be sitting downstairs, i asked if the baby could be heard and she confirmed there were no noises whatsoever!! We were then told to stop putting the chef under pressure! Baffled as we had only just ordered our food 2 mins earlier (apparently we complained that our food wasn't quick enough) all lies from the owners son. Avoid if u have children, appalling all round!

we were staying in the Travelodge which is about a ten minute walk from here, and only found this restaurant through tripadvisor. so glad we did - we'd never have came across it otherwise as it's in a residential area. was myself, my boyfriend and my toddler. food was fantastic - all freshly made, full of favour. Greek lager - forget the name - was lovely. Very reasonable - £40 for 2 courses for the adults, lamb kebab and chips for my little girl, and 5 beers. Absolutely worth a visit.

The atmosphere makes this restaurant. It's cosy but good. The staff were superb if not very busy.Expect to spend a while here it's not a place to rush in and get out.We really enjoyed our meal.Food is of a good standard.I thought the prices were good not as expensive as other restaurants.

A family run traditional Greek restaurant. Good atmosphere, food and drinks. Reasonably priced. Fun for all. Staff very welcoming. Service excellent.

We had a meal with family here. we have been many times and always had a warm welcome. Food was lovely as usual and reasonably priced. It was quite busy and so service was a little slow but as we were too busy chatting we didn't mind. We were not hurried and were the last to leave. . The choice is good largely because you can have a cheaper menu or the main menu. House wines are fine too.

My favourite restaurant. The vegetarian moussaka is so nice. A family favourite always go there on family occasions.

We found retsina last year and as we live local we go as often as we can now. The staff are really friendly and the food is lovely. We've never been disappointed with our meals and it isn't over priced either. If you've never been its definitely worth trying.

We hadn't booked for our meal and as a large party was due in an hour we were given seating as long as we didn't linger.Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was great and we had typical Greek starters including dips and that wonderful warm Greek style bread.We were finished within the hour and in bed watching TV a little later.Convenient, friendly, good food.

The Retsina is such a lovely friendly restaurant and nothing is to much trouble we arrived a party of six adults and a two year old we asked for a bowl of ice cream at the beginning of our meal to keep our grandson happy and they were very happy to oblige.The food is amazing best Greek food we've ever had always piping hot and the homemade chips are to die for.Do yourself a favour and pay them a visit you won't be sorry.
