Just visited for the very first time, all I can say is wow, just wish we had been over sooner. Fabulous food, fabulous service, fabulous setting, we can’t wait to come back. How lovely the entire family are involved and the owners make it part of the experience to come over and speak to each table - we had a lovely afternoon. Thank you

We turned up today on a wet and windy day. They bent over backwards to serve us. Then when we asked for the best taxi service locally they informed us just how difficult it would be. Within seconds they offered us a ride back to our campsite. Can’t recommend enough

Very disappointed. We rarely go out and this was a special treat for our 46th wedding anniversary. The gentleman who finally greeted us made no apology for the wait and.. despite my being disabled, he went off at speed while we trailed behind him. Nobody pulled out my chair or made us feel welcome. In fairness it was very busy but that's no excuse. We've dined out enough in the past to know good service. I was never offered a second drink nor did anyone enquire whether we were happy with the meal. I don't remember ever feeling so ill served at this restaurant. The food was good but we had a simple lunch. We left feeling decidedly disappointed.

Was fortunate enough to experience this wonderful restaurant for a work dinner as part of a team of chefs. The service was impecable, the food and wine were without fault and a pure display of skill and passion for there craft. Without doubt i will be returning, an thankyou for a truly memorable experience!

Magnificent little café with garden where we had breakfast during our getaway to Canterbury Everything is perfect, French breads and pastries. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. Thank you for this moment of happiness to start the day off right. We recommend this place. Go ahead and enjoy.

My favourite restaurant is the Thai Brasserie. My wife introduced me to Thai food. I have been to the Thai Brasserie many times with my wife and our favourites are Papaya Salad, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Prawn Noodles. This month, we invited my family to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant put together a menu for our party of 14 that came to about £30 a head - which I thought very reasonable. I will definately book another party there.

We had a great meal, the best one we’ve had here so far. There were lots of seafood dishes on the specials board, today, which hit the spot for us! The crab linguine with chilli and samphire was creamy and full of crab. The mussels were in a lovely sauce too. We were too full for dessert, but they looked great on other tables. The coffee was amazing. Our servers were charming and attentive, keen to make sure we enjoyed our meal. We’d intended to try out the new restaurant at the top of the street, and were a bit disappointed to find we should have booked. However, we were really lucky to be able to squeeze in at La Maison. We really recommend it.

L'Ortolan was formerly a really fabulous place in a lovely setting. Sadly it is now closed and will probably be sold. On our last few visits it was looking very tired and in need of some investment and maintenance work on the building and decor. Very sadly the whole experience has gradually gone down hill, the food was still pretty good, some of the staff were excellent but the real attention to detail and the feeling of being exquisitely looked after had gone. It's obviously been fading away slowly over the years but we have some very happy memories of it in the past. Sad to see it go.

Lively locaton but setting of the tables is a big let down. I hate looking at people eating while sharing the experience with other person I want to talk to while eating. Unfortunately I don’t feel comfortable turning my head 45 degrees each time I communicate with someone. Also, staff did look quite a lot at us while eating which made eating quite unpleasant. Food wise, nice food. Unfortunately salmon and lamb overcooked. Sweetbreads didn’t find it particularly tasty. I wouldn’t go back based on the price unfortunately.

Plateau. Perfect! Revisited Plateau after a whiles absence, and so glad we did. We have been coming to this fantastic restaurant more or less since it originally opened. Loving the sharing plates and the fab but unusual wine selection. Vincent and Thierry champion natural wines. Whilst some are more challenging, we really enjoyed the reds. Cocktails as usual perfect. I had the French 75 which was just the right side of sweet and tart; delicious. My husband had the Plateau shrub margarita. A triumph! Back to the food. We chose the pork loin, the squash and the beetroot with goats cheese. All flavourful and tasty. It's such a great venue and vibe. We love this place!
