The best restaurants serving French food in England

Came for pre gig-at-the-Brudenell feed tonight and had the best curry I've ever had in all my years. Chicken Rezella and Mach Jalfrezi. BANG ON. Service was next level too. First time here in about 10 years and the standard remains HIGH. BLESS YOU, THANK YOU

We have been regulars at L’Artisan for many years. It was our absolute favourite restaurant and we were devastated when it closed. Yves was a magician in the kitchen; the food was always fabulous and imaginative, the presentation beautiful and the ambience wonderful. Elisabeth always made us very welcome, with hugs and kisses all round, as did Anna, their lovely waitress. It was such a relaxed atmosphere and we loved talking to Yves when he emerged from the kitchen to chat with clients. What shall we do now without you? Lesley & Roger

This is a lovely small hotel with 8 bed rooms. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and quiet! The menu is not over large but there is something for everyone and the food is delicious and very nicely served. The service is personal and attentive and both dinner and breakfast were a joy. I would recommend Yarlbury to couples, family groups or I don’t think someone single would feel out of place.

Just a note to say a really heartwarming thank you to all the staff in the excellent service we received on our visit yesterday. My daughter and son-in-law both thought we had found a hidden gem which is credit to your establishment (they are used to eating at high quality restaurants in their home town Los Angeles US) all the staff were welcoming and attentive and it was especially nice to see the chef at the table, the words absolutely superb, delicious and amazing were echoed throughout the meal at every course. This is very unique and lovely experience. The food is excellent quality, looks and tastes very good, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Alex was a lovely and energetic host. I will certainly return and I highly recommend them. You can enjoy a pleasant meal while sightseeing beautiful London. Forgot to mention the music, which blended perfectly with food and created an even better atmosphere!

A different time, a different day but always assured of delicious flavours from quality ingredients. Today's special delight was a fig and pistachio tart that frankly tastes even better than it looks, and it looks great. Continuity is always a sign of a good eatery but when you appreciate the chef is creating recipes from love, rest assured you are in food nirvana. Having dined here since it opened I am always amazed at how they maintain and even improve on quality and taste. If in any doubt, try their duck confit sandwich where even the rolls are made in-house. You will leave with a radiant smile on your face. Just had dinner here again; Raclette Arancini followed by Duck in cherry sauce and gratin dauphinoise. I can only describe this as an award winning meal. It will have your taste buds dancing for a week. The truffle arancini are still excellent as is the burger with green pepper sauce.

Been going to Jas Jas jas for many years on many occasions with my family and many friends as it's probably the ultimate lunch restaurant in Cheadle and beyond. Gets my vote for making the tastiest food anywhere and all at a very reasonable price. Sadly not open in the evenings. You'd do well to book & eat there.
