Had their full breakfast which is the usual one of each (2 bacon) with a drink and toast. The portion sizes were acceptable but not generous, and it was padded out with too many diced potato pieces, as well as being slightly overcooked/overheated. However their Breakfast was certainly okay, and the accompanying choice of Tea was really good, and made over two full cups. On the downside the cost of £9 was expensive for what was served, especially in comparison to many similar venues. It was clean inside and the service prompt and efficient. Unfortunately it was also too chilly in there and needed to be much warmer to be comfortable.

We had a fantastic lunch at So Yummy Cafe! They cater for many allergies including gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan. If you don't have allergies they are even better with so much choice! Staff were attentive and knowledgeable.

My husband found this place on the hill and told us he was waiting there, as we were in The Heart Foundation, which is a Charity Shop down the bottom of the Hill. We finally arrived and we chose our sandwiches, when a kind lady came over and took our order. i was not listening properly and she got the wrong bread for me, so she changed it for me, because i wanted brown bread not white. i had a lovely tuna, mayo and sweetcorn sandwich, which tasted lovely, since the bread was thick with a lot of filling in between. i had a pot of tea and got three cups out of it and the others had a veggie meal with a ham sandwich for my husband. The toilets are up some steps and not suitable for wheelchair or people with mobility issues, however, there is enough room for wheelchairs in the cafe. the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when i was coming down the two steps at the front near to the counter, as i'm a blind person who finds steps and stairs difficult. i'll go back again if ever we are in Ride on holiday.

Gluten free bread was hard and horrible. It was from coop own brand and was not nice. Only had white gluten free bread available, so no choice. The bacon was under cooked full of fat and rind not cut off. Pasta was overcooked and like mush. The pasta sauce was even worse, think on the lines of tomato juice poured on your meal. Mmm not nice. Herby potatoes were like frozen chunks quickly thrown in the oven, not what I was expecting. The salad was really sad and boring as well. Such a shame as I read all the 5* reviews on here and thought it stood out as a great place for gluten free options and there is a good write up about the food. Sadly I was really disappointed. I'm not a resident of the area and my one and only time I've been to Ryde, but I certainly won't be going back there to eat.

Popped in for lunch. The food was freshly prepared and beautifully cooked. Covid screens between tables made it feel very safe. Could not fault the service.

We popped into Ryde for the day and came here for lunch. The café was busy, but it just shows how popular the food is! They had a good range of vegan and vegetarian options and a good range of drinks. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. When the food came I couldn't believe how big the portion was, definitely worth every penny. Looking forward to eating here again next time we're visiting the Island.

Popped into the coffee shop just for hot drinks and found it warm and friendly with very welcoming staff. The coffee and hot chocolates were lovely and much better than your average high street coffee.

I came here with 3 friends on Tuesday lunchtime. We were greeted by the loveliest lady and she sat us down. My friends ordered a full English and my other friend ordered eggs benedict, whilst I ordered the Cajun chicken wrap. None of us could fault the food - it was amazing! We were in the Isle of Wight for 4 days and got breakfast every day - this was by far the best place we visited. Will definitely be returning next time we are there.

We spotted this place on TripAdvisor and it looked just the spot for our lunch in Ryde. It more than lived up to it's rating and it was difficult not to come back for afternoon tea! There selection of food to suit all types of eaters (Veggie, Vegan, Coeliac) was great, we loved the mini versions of the main dishes for the kids. It can be really hard to find good veggie food for kids! The food itself was great, definitely a case of quality over quantity. A particular highlight of my full English was was the fried tomato. Normally I'm not a fan, but this one was AMAZING, just juicy and flavourful throughout. Would definitely go again and have already recommended it to my relatives on the Isle.

Such a lovely cafe in Ryde. Very Covid friendly with shields between tables, hand sanitiser on the tables and staff wearing masks. Was empty when we went in but this is surprising after how great our experience was. The waitress was lovely and friendly. I ordered the Eggs Benedict which was absolutely delicious. Everyone on the table enjoyed their food. 100% recommend!

I decided to visit for the first time in search of a late lunch after reading the recent review by Matt & Cat & I wasn’t disappointed. At 3pm on a Saturday, I was well last peak trade but I was welcomed & able to sit where I wanted. An afternoon tea of sandwich, cake & tea was advertised as part of a scheme to encourage shoppers to spend £5 in their local high street & was the perfect treat. The ham sandwich was simple but very fresh & made with real butter which was a bonus (why do cafes insist on slathering on thick layers of marg?) & garnished with a small dressed salad. I chose coffee & walnut cake & received a generous slab with plenty of walnuts & a thick layer of butter cream. The tea was hot, plenty for more than two cups & accompanied by a rich tea finger & mini bottle of milk. The loo was clean & fresh & the whole place felt very covid secure. The customers leaving as I arrived were equally complimentary about their lunch. I’ll definitely be back!

Brunch was absolutely delicious. I was a pain and mixed up two different bruschettas as it was quiet in there. But it was no trouble for the lovely staff here. We are so glad we happened upon this great place. I can highly recommend eating here. Delicious food, great value, lovely staff, strict covid measures throughout and really clean.

So different from the usual seaside offering of everything fried with chips! Varied menu including wraps, bruschetta, chilli and all manner of goodies on sourdough toast, all served by delightful staff. Well worth a visit.

I had three fantastic experiences of this gem of a place, whilst I visited the island with my family! The first was a takeaway. I ordered Croque Madame and a slice of Lemon Drizzle Cake. Order was easily placed and food was so very tasty! Price reasonable also! In fact my takeaway experience was so good, I returned the following two days with the family, ordering the Eggs Royale and another Croque Madame for breakfasts (whilst my partner had similar and my son had the kids breakfast!). The quality of all the food was very high - really tasty!Again, another great experience was bad eating inside this clean relaxed and friendly establishment. Very Covid safe with screens separating tables and each table has its own hand sanitizer! The staff appear very well trained in implementing the Covid procedures. The atmosphere is relaxed and the place is certainly very pleasant. This place is going to do very well. Keep it up the So Yummy team and I’ll be back on my next visit! Bravo!

Having lived in Ryde for over 20 years I usually go out of town to eat. But today I decided to give So Yummy cafe I try. And I was extremely pleased that I did. An excellent, varied, and Yummy looking menu was not let down by the meal I received which tasted every bit as nice as the aroma wafting from my plate. And the price was a snipI will definitely return again. Must try the curry which sounded delicious on the menu. Thank you So Yummy-Until the next time!

Whilst walking through town to find somewhere for a spot of lunch, we popped into So...Yummy. The kids had checked out the menu in the window and given it a From the moment we opened the door, we were given a very warm welcome where nothing was too much trouble. The owner made a real fuss of the children which was lovely. An extensive menu and all made to order. My husband had a Croque Madame which was delicious! The kids menu was brilliant and both had sandwiches (both of their favourite fillings were not stated as options but very willingly made-nothing was too much trouble). The decor was simple & modern, the music on in the background, kids colouring & chalkboard on the dresser that housed condiments & carafes of water for the table. We have thoroughly recommended this super little find to my in-laws who like to walk into town for a browse & a cuppa/bite to eat.

Being a local I did not stay at the hotel but I thought I'd try the food as eating out in Newport is limited to say the least (unless you like pizza/pasta, there are at least 4 of these). I fancied traditional pub food which today is a scarce as all the pubs seem to be in the Gordon Ramsey mode, posh food, very little of it and expensive. The Wheatsheaf’s menu included real pub classics including Steak and Ale pie, Pork Belly, Steak and Chips, Lamb Shank to name a few. For starter’s I opted for the chilli prawns, a generous portion, cooked perfect and presented shell off which saves all that peeling and messy fingers! Starters are all priced at £5.00. I followed this with a perfectly cooked 8oz sirloin steak (med-rare) with lovely crispy chips and a blue cheese sauce accompanied by a nice crisp fresh salad, (which was not just a bowl of leaves like in most places). Although the chips were frozen they were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect, I almost mistook them for the latest fad (3 times cooked chips). The chef must have a trick up his sleeve. The steak was cooked perfect. A field mushroom would have been a nice touch. Here's the good bit, all main dishes are only £10, if you fancy steak you do pay a £4.00 supplement which is fair. Even though I was stuffed I could not resist the homemade Rhubarb Crumble with cream. I managed to eat ¾ of it. Again, all the desserts were priced at £5.00. All I can say is although this pub has had a bad reputation for food in the past this is certainly not the case now, it’s really worth giving it a try.
