We went yesterday with two of our friends for lunch. Food always very good and friendly efficient staff. Glad this is our local to go to tea room. Great value for money and all baked by the owner. Thoroughly recommend.

What a lovely little restaurant . Visited with my wife to celebrate our 45th.wedding anniversary . We were staying in Pickering and selected this bistro from reviews on tripadvisor . It is a very intimate restaurant with a small but varied food and drinks menu .The service was excellent with the owner and other serving staff. The home made bread and tapenade as an amuse bouche was very nice . We chose scallops and beef feather for starters .My scallops were perfectly cooked , my wife loved the beef feather which was a suprising dish. For mains I had duck and my wife had steak , both were perfectly cooked and presented , accompanied by perfect vegetables . Finished off the meal with the cheese board , nice cheese , chutney , crackers , grapes , apple and other fruits.Home made fudge was a lovely touch at the end of our meal . We would recommend this bistro to anyone in the area , who would like to enjoy a perfect meal .Thank you to all at the Willowgate bistro for making our anniversary that bit more special.

What a great little find! Coming from Scarborough we’d never been for a light lunch in Pickering but we called in today to be greeted by a familiar accent. All the team were super helpful and when I told them I had a dairy intolerance they knew just what to do to make me feel at ease. I would throughly recommend this to everyone! Top food, top service and most of all top people x Thank you

Superb Indian restaurant offering extraordinary food. Absolutely spot on from the Naan bread to the sauces to the beers and the kulfi. None of your southern over salted vat sauces, this place does it right and it shows. We covered the menu within our group and no one had a word of complaint. Even the loos were nice.

My husband and I were feeling a bit peckish when we arrived in Pickering. Luckily we stumbled on cozy Cafe Cocoa on our way to the hotel and we're warmly welcomed. We each had delicious soup and sausage rolls. This little spot is a real gem with sumptuous food to eat in or take out. Highly recommend!

A wonderful celebration for our Ruby wedding anniversary. Hotel is a classic, beautiful rooms, especially the dining room overlooking a beautiful garden. Food, both breakfast and evening meals was delicious and good choices on the menu , with a different specials menu each day. The room was spacious, comfortable and warm. Staff were polite, friendly and accommodating. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Really enjoy our meal here. We arrived quite late in the day, but food was still excellent. We needed food from the gluten free menu and the lovely waitress was very apologetic that they were out of some items. Never the less, they had what we wanted, and it quickly arrived piping hot. Will definitely return when we are in the area again

we went to The Black Swan for a short stay, everything was great, clean and very comfortable. The staff and owners were helpful and polite. The only downside was the days we stayed, the restaurant was not open and the bar closed early. We did stay mid-week, so it's possible this was why.We were told that when it was quiet, the bar tends to close early. We did not know the restaurant was closed until our booking was confirmed. This did not spoil our stay, although the choice would have been nice.At the time it felt more like a B&B

There was an extremely poor choice for anyone who can't eat gluten. Considering gluten free bread is widely available and easy to freeze they really don't have any excuses. The pre packaged cake offered I've had before and is very dry. Considering I can make amazing gluten free products at home which are easily frozen, again they have no excuses. Shame on you.
