We were a party of five and this was an incredibly lovely lunch. We wouldn't usually have a posh lunch, and increasingly it's difficult to find good places to eat out. But this was great, and we pretty much ordered most of the dishes on the lunch menu between and so can recommend anything! The portions were generous; the food was beautifully presented and timely. The vegan and vegetarian options were beautiful and absolutely delicious; the vegetables are locally sourced, the fish was beautifully cooked, there was nothing that could have been improved. We are all keen cooks and love our food, and often disappointed with the local offerings in many pubs and cafes and cannot wait to try the brunch menu next time we are in Much Wenlock.

We recently stayed at The Fox for an overnight stay. It’s a nice old inn and the room we stayed in (which was very spacious) has recently been renovated but has kept a lovely old charm. The Fox is a warm and comfortable place to stay, the food was very tasty and the staff were very friendly and incredibly welcoming.

Called in for a breakfast. Looked lovely from outside. The coffee was OK but the breakfast was the smallest we have ever had. I tiny sausage, two rashers of shrivelled bacon, half a tomato, mushrooms, egg and black pudding. Not everyone likes black pudding. A choice would have been nice! I asked for scrambled thinking it may be a healthy portion, but it was obviously one egg scrambled. I had to put my glasses on to find it on the plate. The toast was miniscule. I certainly, as a tourist, will not be visiting again. The menu should have read tiny breakfast. £12 was not cheap.

The very very best pork pie I've ever eaten! Perfect crisp pastry crust, beautifully seasoned filling and delicious aspic. Would also have bought a fine looking leg of lamb (and will do so for our return home) but we were staying in a hotel.

Absolutely incredible food and selection of wine! We pre-booked our table after seeing the offer in What's What magazine for a free bottle of wine with any 2 main courses - we were not disappointed. To start we enjoyed the hummus, grilled pitta, sourdough and olives. Plenty of food for two people - we couldn't finish the olives. Followed by the duck breast with a side of herby new potatoes, both were simply out of this world. You definitely pay for what you get for and the service was pleasant too. Having visited earlier in the year, the standard of food was exquisite then too. Definitely worth visiting!

This is a small teashop so it's worth booking or even being patient enough to wait for a table. I didn't think a cup of tea could be so surprising, but in my 60+ years it was the best cup of tea I had ever had. Added to that my husband and I agreed that our bacon and egg sandwich was also was the best we had ever had, high praise for such humble choices but well deserved. The bread was fresh and soft, good quality eggs and the bacon was old fashioned delicious. Oh to live nearer. Staff were excellent too, managing the waiting times with calmness and a smile.

Quite cosy and a nice pot of tea. The coffee cake got the thumbs up but the scones weren't so good. Freezer to microwave, rubbery on the outside and frozen in the middle. When the server asked us if everything was okay I told her that the scones weren't to great. She replied, "okay". Just,"okay". Not sure why she bothered to ask!

Returned to much wentlock for a visit and likewise the wenlock smoothie . Nice little cafe on the square. Food nice, service good and friendly staff, nice and casual. Prices what you would expect to pay these days. Recommend cafe and will pop back on next visit.

The cafe we usually go to in Much Wenlock wasn’t serving food so we tried here instead and to be honest it was better than our usual! Irina was lovely and the food was delicious! The cafe itself was very clean and bright. Very good value for money! Will definitely be back again

Staff and food spot on I've eaten here on many occasions either with my partner or my daughter's. We've always enjoyed our delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere. The only thing we've found is it can be a little cool sometimes a little background heat would make your visit more comfortable. But don't let that put you off eating at the Talbot it actually takes some beating.
