Have been coming here foe years. Food is good and service is good. However, visited today - was busy (and by that I mean more than 3 tables - this is a very small cafe!) Placed orfder for drinks and breakfast. And waited. And waited. And waited. Woman doing the cooking walked out and stood outside the front chatting to friends. Obviously no cooking going on! So went up to ask. Woman (red hair) behind the counter went out to tell the cook, who came in and started cooking. Obviously overlooked our order. No problem. But what the real problem is that no one here ever says 'Sorry about that...' etc. No smile. No sorry! Just sour faced staff! (see reviews fro others).

Not the typical friendly welcome that you get in this lovely small town. We have always used The Wenlock Smoothie in Much Wenlock, and have been regular customers. But after today we will find somewhere else in Much Wenlock. I have always found Much Wenlock a friendly little town but certainly not in the Wenlock Smoothie, we walked in and said hello, nothing, no response, no response when we were leaving after saying thank you to the waitresses. We will use somewhere else in future. What is the matter with these people that they can’t be civil and acknowledge you. It’s your business that you are affecting. Bye

Don' like the name of the shop really but dont let it put you off. We visited Much Wenlock for the day last week and found this cafe after the one we had our eye on was full further down the road. My wife went in and came out with a nice latte coffee and an ice cream in a pot which we sat outside on the bench and ate/drunk with the dogs help. Wife commented how friendly the staff were and they did a wide variety of items on the menu. So no issues from us based on our experience.

My 10 year old son and I were hiking and this place looked like a nice place for lunch. As soon as we entered we had a customer couple started shouting at us mask! Mask! The staff just looked on. Yes I wasn’t wearing a mask as I accidentally left it in the car and I thought we would sit down and eat. We were so humiliated by the shouting we just left immediately and the customers started sniggering. None of the staff intervened or said anything to us. We had only just stepped in the cafe and we were suddenly shouted at rudely. The people who were seated were not eating at that moment or wearing masks either. When I asked the woman why she herself wasn't wearing one she just said "i am seated you are not". They were staring at us as if we were just not welcome - still the staff did not intervene or acknowledge us. We were just not welcome.I felt we were spoken to like that because we were Asian. I cannot of think a reason why someone would shout at you as soon as you open a door and step into a cafe. How can staff just let this go and let customers shout at us? My son was appalled by the behaviour and rudeness of these adults. He kept asking me why they did that- I could not give him a single reason? Perhaps it was because we were Asian? We will never be stepping foot into this cafe again. My son and I have never felt so humiliated in my life. Luckily we found a bakery nearby and the staff were really kind to us there.

Visited yesterday for an ice-cream. Out the corner of my eye i noticed a selection of delightful looking mini jam tarts and at just 50p each i couldn't resist. I decided to save my little treat for later in the day. My biggest mistake was to eat it while driving home. From the moment the tart touched my lips i knew all was wrong. Initially what caught my attention was the taste and smell of an old but regularly used unwashed sock, but that quickly turned to an intense dryness that is only matched by the Sahara desert. The dry powdery "pastry" immediately started to mix with my saliva into a cement like paste that stared to set in my mouth quicker than i could spit it out. I very nearly lost control of my car but manged to park it neatly in a hedge on the side of the road. After half an hour of gagging and heaving, a gallon of water and two packs of polo mints, i finally was able to compose myself and resume my journey. My advice is not to try the cakes.I would like to add that the ice cream was Lovely.

The team were extremely helpful and welcoming to me and my family (3 adults and 2 under 5's) on a busy Saturday. They couldn't have done more to assist us! We had had a terrible experience in a previous establishment, and so had two very hungry children (not to mention cross and hungry adults) and the team were charming, friendly and accommodating (splitting adult portions for the children, helping us move table from outside to inside, adding to the order as it went!!) the food was freshly prepared, and delicious, the coffee was good, the ice-creams were perfect for a hot Saturday, and the selection of cakes were good and super tasty. A surprisingly good menu for a smoothie bar - initially we were just after a coffee and cake to keep the wolf from the door, but we are so glad we had lunch! I've only given 4/5 because of one simple thing.I'll let you know what that thing is later. We visited relatively late in the afternoon so I was, as always thrilled to be able to get an all day breakfast. The breakfast wasn't the cheapest but the egg was fresh and had a suitably runny yolk, the mushrooms were also fresh, the bacon tasty and well cooked, the toast supplied with two small packs of butter. So why oh why are the sausages of the "a thousand frozen sausage for a fiver" type. This is the reason for not giving 5/5.The coffee was great, Mrs D advised that the tomato and red pepoer soup was delicious. The service was polite and friendly but everything was marred by the poor quality, I suspect deep fried, sausagesFrom now on any place using this type of sausage will be deducted one from their score.

I've eaten in lots of little places like this so I'm qualified to say this place is not doing food good enough to merit the prices. Tuna sandwich was just one slice of bread cut in half with tuna and a little bit of mayo in it...no salad, and a bag of crisps...only option ready salted. I had a small tea and a tea cake. In all it was £6 and I went away hungry. They serve some nice looking ice creams but at £2 for 1 scoop it was too rich for me. To make it a better deal through economies of scale you can get 3 scoops for a steal at only £5.75!The boy serving looked flustered just serving me, a single lady and a table of 4. I don't think he'd cope with much more.

We were only looking for a light lunch and I had a jacket potato and side salad (with Diet Coke) and Jacquie had a ham and mushroom omelette (with lemon ad ginger tea). The food was served promptly and was fresh and tasty. We engaged in chatting to all the members of staff at some point during our visit. It was just over £11 which was more than reasonable.Much Wenlock is very much on the tourist trail although we live quite nearby and I don't think anyone looking for a Lucy with quality food and a huge variety of drinks and specialist ice cream would be disappointed.

I visit Much Wenlock for a long weekend each April for the Poetry Festival (unfortunately not happening in April 2017), and usually pop in to this bright little cafe in The Square - for a tiny market town, Much Wenlock is very well served with shops, cafes and places to eat + good pubs. The Smoothie serves delicious Ice Cream as well as Smoothies and tasty coffee - do patronise the place when you decode that Much Wenlock is worth your time to visit.

Popped in here for what we thought would be a quick drink and a bite to eat for brunch. It certainly was not quick. It was a busy Saturday morning however several tables who ordered after us were served and had left by the time food had arrived (a toasted teacake and a slice of cheese on toast - not very complicated!). Unfortunately when this food was brought to us, our drinks had not. This was 20-odd minutes after ordering. We had to ask for where they were. It then took another 5 minutes for these to arrive, at which point we had nearly finished our food. A bit of a disappointing experience. If we had not have paid when we ordered, we would have walked out after having waited for so long.

This little café specialises in smoothies but does excellent coffee and a good range of breakfast/brunch/snacks. Very pleasant and obliging family-run establishment, much of the food locally sourced. Eclectic décor with some outside seating if the weather is nice.

Our first visit to Much Wenlock and being a Sunday most shops closed. This place is right in the centre and has seating inside and out. Only had drinks but would go there again for food and drinks if in the area. Very small place but seems well run and clean. Can't comment too much on such a short visit though

Location and outside seating makes this cafe special. Lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by. Food and drinks ok, choice limited, average for a cafe, service depends on who serves you. Sunny day; definitely, raining; depends on your mood and needs.

Had just popped in to get a milkshake so when I was minding my own business I look other to see the staff counting tips. Don't think they were supposed to be doing it as when there boss came through the door they quickly put it back where it was. And as well one of the girls took some money out and handed it to the lad.

Wishy washy cappuccino with virtually no froth ruined an otherwise pleasant experience and nice scone and jam (not warmed). Tasted like an ordinary milky coffee. The decaf coffee itself had little taste. The service was slow - the coffee took an age (20 minutes?) to prepare although the scone came immediately but I wanted to eat it with the coffee. It's a pity since the location was good.

The service was friendly and the food absolutely first-rate. Can recommend the Ploughman’s which is loaded with cheese, really top notch ham, and lovely crusty bread. Would have loved to stay for cake but we were all too full.

we always try to come here when we can get in and don’t fancy cooking one ourselves. the meat selection is always good and very generous, their roast potatoes are the best - lovely and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. it is a carvery so can help yourself. they unfortunately don’t have any mash but we just add extra roasties! their gravy is lovely and homemade with the meat juices in. the staff are lovely and attentive. our favourite place to go for sunday lunch!

We booked for dinner as we knew the White Lion had reopened for food with a new chef. We were not disappointed the food was delicious, we had the rib eye steak, the sea bass special and the penne vodka. All were beautifully cooked and served. The service was great and the staff were friendly. We will definitely be eating here again.

We are regular visitors to the Red Lion in Myddle. We return every time because the food and service is second to none. We always receive a warm welcome and we know how hard Pete and Jackie and staff work to make sure that their guests are not disappointed. If you fancy a meal out around Shrewsbury (lunch or dinner) then look no further than the Red Lion. You won’t regret it.
