What an amazing hidden gem this is. Really nice setting, very friendly staff and to die for cakes. I had a mini afternoon tea (very reasonably priced) which consisted of some freshly made cheese & chutney and ham & mustard finger sandwiches, possibly the best fresh scone with strawberry jam and clotted cream and a slice of blueberry bakewell cake yum yum - the scone was definitely the highlight. I also had a decafe mocha which was also exceptional- i look forward to visiting again with my sons who are both partial to a nice scone 😀.
Always amazing produce from here. Everything, from pies to their steak is top quality. A fabulous choice of meat - the prepped meals are delicious.
Cannot fault anything and the people are really lovely.
Our favourite butchers when we are staying in Llanrug.
My partner and I have been on the quest for the best gluten free pizza around. I think there is a strong chance we may have found it!
Most pizza joints don’t even offer a gluten free base, or when they do it’s not up to much.
Luke was very attentive regarding our requirements.
The PIZZA was amazing! We will definitely be back for more!
A charming little place run by James & Joseph, hope I got that right 🤔 It was interesting to listen to James telling their family story of how this small business came about, you always wonder don't you. It's spotlessly clean, & run very efficiently, with real tasty food, & at great prices. I've walked past this place many times, but not anymore. I'm coming back for you!

Ordered from here again following a previous trip. Again food was amazing - freshly made, delicious & nutritious. 2 of us had the special which was tempura Cauliflower with sweet chilli sauce and the other had the pulled pork. Such a change to have good choices as a vegetarian that are not just an afterthought. I’m sure the other cafes are decent enough for what looked like standard offerings, but this little gem of a street food outlet is something else. Staff are always really decent too. Didn’t take photos of food - photos attached are our view from the seats outside on a very rainy day - outlet windows just out of site on the right. Menu is small but we had difficulty choosing as they all sounded so good.
My first experience of Phoenix.
This is a brilliant place, on the long Bangor High Street, but slightly hidden, being set back from the road. It has a large interior with amazing decorations. Many different styles of seating to suit different use expectations.
The coffee is excellent. The food we had was very good - Farmhouse Pizza, and chicken kebab with a very tasty Turkish style mixed salad and rice. The service very friendly and the price was very reasonable, and in my view is excellent value. I saw they do a lot of Turkish style cakes and sweets - for my next visit.
This is a good place to get food on Sunday when most of Bangor is closed. It is also a good place for a private chat or gathering and you do not want lots of background noise. It has high chairs and some toys for young children.
I hear they hope to get a licence to sell wines and develop a more bistro style offering, which will be very welcome in Bangor.
The kiosk halfway along the Bangor Pier. Tiny but tastefully decorated. And seriously tasty treats! Coffee was excellent - as good as our other local favourites (Yugen, Blue Sky and Providero). Hot chocolate (different flavours available) was drained in seconds by my daughter. Cakes were generous, unusual, and left us fighting for the last piece. Home-made scones looked good too. Friendly owner happy to chat, and very committed to the cause: he told us he was receiving more barista training the following week - not sure he needed it from what we were served. And apparently he had also complety refitted the cafe to make it covid secure. Oh and must be the best view from a cafe in North Wales?
Sometimes, just sometimes you can come across a food shop which ticks all of your boxes - and more. This is such a place. What was on offer was superb and the young lady who made up my order not only knew what she was doing but prepared it excellently as I watched. I wish I lived nearer.
Popped in for a quick beer whilst on holiday, awaiting the family takeaway from nearby. Lovely landlord, made to feel really welcome and an offer of use of one of the rooms for the family to eat their takeaway in the future, I thought was a nice touch. Great to see a village pub and hopefully will continue into the future!
