Always amazing produce from here. Everything, from pies to their steak is top quality. A fabulous choice of meat - the prepped meals are delicious. Cannot fault anything and the people are really lovely. Our favourite butchers when we are staying in Llanrug.

We were holidaying in Caernarfon and wanted to bring back some Welsh lamb. A Google search showed Wavell’s as being on our way home and laden with awards, so we called in. The leg of lamb that they sold us was small (indicating that it was from a creature anyone not a meat trade conman would classify as a lamb) and we went away happy. Two days later we served it to friends, and it was a real disappointment. I have eaten Welsh lamb many times, finding it incomparable – tender and full of flavour. This was not exactly tough, but it was far from tender and the flavour was lacking. We would have been no worse off with a New Zealand cheapie from Tesco. It wasn’t the way we stored or cooked it, as my wife is an excellent cook of great experience. Were we just unlucky? Was this known to be a poor joint, saved up for the Grockles? Are Wavell’s normally this bad? We shall never know and I shall certainly never go back there. Wavell’s – you have let the side down, badly. (There was a plus side – we bought sausages too, and they were very good. But we don’t need to go to Wales for quality sausages!)

Great selection the bacon and sausages were perfect! the deli also looked delicious (we didnt get chance to try them sadly )

Bought several meat items from Wavells. Very nice pies and lovely pork sausages. Our only problem was took us ages to find as we took a wrong turn but good we found it in the end.

Having been brought up on a farm I am quite fussy about where I buy my meat and since moving to the area over 20 years ago hardly go anywhere else. There is a great selection of options to suit all tastes and a great deli. No matter what time of day I arrive (they're open from 6:30) there is almost always someone before and/or after me, what better recommendation.

I am camping near by and popped into grab a sandwich and have a look. Amazing sandwiches using a proper joint of ham, delicious pork pies and I even tried a nibble of their faggots - unexpectedly delicious. A great place and I plan to return during my stay. All local meat lovingly prepared.

High class butcher with a mix of traditional meats but also a variation of differently prepared meats. Top class quality, and a buisness run by professional butchers who know their stuff. There is also a small cafe within the shop which offers a host of tasty generously filled sandwiches etc. The pies and other bits in the chiller are also worth a try. Nice traditional family run concern. Always plesant visit to visit. Well worth a visit.

Brillant sausage in North Wales love these they are alsorts of flavours also the sandwiches are to die for

The service at Wavells is second to none; a truly traditional butchers with top quality produce which won’t disappoint. In addition they have a small coffee shop. Relax there whilst waiting for a bus, out walking or just because you can!!

This place is local to me. The owner it self works here and always serves good quality meat and has got a wonderful deli counter. Definitely worth a stop if your passing through the villages.

Top quality butchers that serve a selection of cooked and uncooked meat. With a deli counter that full of a variety of fresh food. Highly recommended

Conveniently located opposite the coop in the centre of the village. Great meat and sausages. Suppliers the local glyntwrog pub with great meat and burgers.

Thats a statement and a half, but they do the best sausages I've ever had. Obviously they offer a full range you'd find in a butcher but my favourit are the sausages and try the 'Greek Passion' pork steaks too!

Meat quality is fabulous - deli with small seating area for snacks, sandwiches cakes tea coffee - bought some very tasty ham today. The real McCoy not plastic packed ham! Owner Bryn always serves you with a smile!
