Don't waste your money!! Went here tonight hoping to celebrate our anniversary after hearing good reviews but we wish we hadn't bothered. Got there for around half 8 and ordered our food at around 9, starters came out with no issues but they waited until half 9 to tell us they had no boiled rice left so we agreed we would share the fried rice I had ordered however that was a disaster in itself because I had asked for no egg so yet again a member of staff came back out to tell us the chef had put egg in the rice. Absolute shambles and we won't be going back, we paid for the starters and left.

We love to visit Rudding and have done many times, however today for a visit for lunch it wasn’t up to scratch. Positives - sitting in the conservatory on a sunny day with the doors open is glorious Negatives- constant building works - you have to walk through a building site to get in the place ( which has been going on for over a year ), food is good but charging £6 for a very small portion of oven chips to go with a £16 sandwich is bit extreme , were were also served the wrong food, then had several items in our bill which we hadn’t had ( not great…..) and when we sat on the terrace, the new outside area was being finished off with ( without exaggeration) 50 staff members and managers being paraded through. Maybe if they had concentrated on the actual guests rather than the building works things ( especially service ) would have been a world better …..

Visited with friends for afternoon tea. The service was amazing, food excellent, and the surroundings just beautiful. We had a little walk around the gardens, and the owners were so polite and chatty, definitely recommend

Space and service were excellent but I ate here as a vegan in a spa day and my choices were cold soup or cold vegetables dressed up as a mezze plate. A bit disappointing giving how much you pay.

Food and staff lovely however was not made aware of the 10% service charge

Desde el primer punto de contacto con Patricia, la planificación y ejecución de mi comida de cumpleaños fue de primera clase. Patricia es tan experimentada, y fue rápido para responder a las preguntas enviadas por correo electrónico. 15 de nosotros disfrutamos de una magnífica comida de tres platos con vino (fuimos con las recomendaciones de Patricia). La comida era excelente, sin excepción todo el mundo disfrutó de su comida y no había un trozo de comida en la mesa! Nuestra familia es amante de la comida y grandes comedores y las porciones servidas en el Victoria son generosas. El personal de servicio en nuestra habitación privada era todo amable y sonriente, nada era demasiado problema. Gracias Patricia, Steve y todos en el Victoria, volveremos! PS un montón de aparcamiento y se puede llegar aquí en un tren desde Leeds, Harrogate o York, ya que está junto a la estación de Cattal.

Arrived today after a long car journey , so was really looking forward to a nice meal , we read the house rules , which included no phones - fair enough if that’s their policy , so my 90 year old mother , being a stickler for the rules , got her phone out of her bag to turn it off , and was immediately told no phones , so she continued to try to turn it off and got a bit flustered, whilst being stood over and told again no phones , I then said give her a minute please . And then the guy who was stood over her went behind the bar and told the staff not to serve us , we were in disbelief and the way we were treated , and left very disgruntled and in total shock to be honest My poor mother was distraught , on her 90 th to be thrown out of a pub for the first time in her life Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the staff

Having visited the Tontine several times in the recent past, we looked forward to a nice Sunday lunch as a family.The visit was marred by underwhelming customer service, requests for water took several attempts before being served, the staff seemed uncommitted to delivering much of a service, and the food , frankly was at best average.I’m afraid that in view of the negative impression we had, it will be some time before we return, there are so many good local places to eat, it really is a disappointment to have to be so negative, must try harder would be my advice.

Room perfectly comfortable except for the water pressure. Breakfast nice.

Se hizo una reserva para un grupo de amigos para reunirse para un almuerzo entre semana. Después de no haber tenido éxito en contactar con el lugar con antelación para avisar de un cambio en el número, llegué temprano para comunicar esta información. No había ningún miembro del personal en el bar o restaurante, y finalmente localicé a una persona en la Recepción, que indicó que el cambio no sería un problema, y esperé a los miembros de nuestro grupo. Cuando llegamos al restaurante, estaba ocupado principalmente por un grupo extremadamente grande haciendo cola por la puerta y siendo servido en el Carvery. Nos mostraron a una mesa separada y nos proporcionaron menús Carvery. Solicitamos menús de comida para el Byron Bar y se hicieron pedidos de bebidas. Cuando estos eran servidos, se tomaban pedidos de comida. Las comidas eran de buena calidad y proporcionaban una buena relación calidad-precio. Al intentar pedir café, nos avisaron que la máquina de capuchino estaba fuera de servicio y la mejor opción era filtrar el café. En resumen, el servicio de mesa era amable y agradable, y las comidas eran buenas, aunque el restaurante Courtyard parece estar basado principalmente en proporcionar un gran volumen de servicio Carvery. El grupo extremadamente grande que ocupa prácticamente todo el restaurante, también impactó nuestra visita.

Noticed today - 13th November 2024 - some work being done on the entrance - so this lovely pub may be opening again soon.
