Had a lovely dinner with family and they really looked after us. The food was lovely and the service was excellent.

Food was awful. We were four in our party. All 4 meals were well below quality expected. They took over an hour to serve the food and not one meal was acceptable. Won't be going back.

Cheap and cheerful, great location.

Loved it, seriously comfortable bed, delicious food, lovely location, will definitely be back for another weekend stay.

Stayed at the inn and thought the rooms were a good size and very comfortable. During our stay there happened to be a pub quiz night running which was fun entertainment! Menu had a great range of choices, including very good alternative options for gluten-free and dairy-free requirements. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Definitely would recommend!

Excellent value for money. Great location, staff, food, and bedroom very comfortable. Would highly recommend the Falcon Inn.

Online check in was easy. On arrival I received my key in less than 30 secs and was shown to my room. Lovely comfortable room with clean bathroom and good hot shower. Breakfast was also very nice and we had a key for late night return as I was at a party.

One night stay at the Kestrel. Good value and a warm welcome. Very pleased the restaurant was open on a Monday evening and we could dine in after a ling drive.

Helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable room. Quality pub food. We were attending a funeral and needed accommodation the Kestrel was very convenient for the crematorium.

Very clean good breakfast Good location Negatives quite noisy due to been above a bar and when people come in late but we were aware of this when i booked.

We came for a wedding locally and we needed to be in the rooms earlier than check inn. To which the staff took care of us and allowed us the rooms to get changed. Really accommodating and friendly and an excellent breakfast. We would definitely come again. Thank you

Stayed at the Kestrel for a wedding for 2 nights. Everything was tip top, the room was great, the food in the pub was great made our stay great.👍🏻

Really nice hotel with very friendly staff

The room was not very clean with thick dust and cobwebs on the beams and skirting board. The floorboards squeaked so much that they kept you awake at night with other guests moving around. The coffee cups were not changed on day 2. The bed was left unmade on day 2. The breakfast was not good and was overcooked. The staff were not very friendly and did not introduce themselves at breakfast.

We were met with a friendly welcome. Our room was really lovely, very clean, nicely decorated and we loved the old beams. We ate in the restaurant the evening we arrived and had a very good meal, well cooked fresh ingredients, plated nicely and very hot on arrival at our table. There was a very good choice of cooked dishes available at breakfast and again, the ingredients were of good quality and cooked well. The only thing that we felt could be improved was the quality of the toilet tissue - OK, we're being picky, but everything else was great so why not put decent loo roll in the rooms?

We didn't stay here , just called in for food. Me and my husband both had steak and it was amazing. It really did rival the expensive steak house's we usually dine at. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the place is so cosy .

Good location for local attractions.

Lovely room with exposed beams, a really comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Our room included breakfast so was really good value, and the staff at The Kestrel were so friendly and helpful

We have called in this establishment a few times on passing for a drink and a bit to eat and only had 1 bad experience, which we said we'd not go back and left a review but since then how Pleasant and polite and friendly service the staff are outstanding Please keep it up you have a fantastic place

The room was okay but a bit basic. a few health & safety issues. i don't think a freestanding wooden wardrobe is good. it was unstable & had a iron & ironing board hanging off it. all you need is a metal hall shelf with hanging rail attached to the wall. There were no drawers anywhere . The ironing board could be affixed straight to the wall. If you have a child or unstable adult a fall or things dropping is not good. It is a old building so a lot of creaking when people move around so not quiet. A very dark room could be lightened up with lighter furniture. It looked tired. the big issue for me was no wifi. we were not old it wasn't working when booking in. How long it had been down i don't know but it is essential for me & i had to do several long urgent emails so had to drive out several miles to find another pub & send them on a laptop. i won't be going to another inn keepers lodge. if i had not prebooked & was told about the wifi on entry i wouldn;t have stopped.

Very comfortable bed, and good bathroom facilities. The TV was a good size but no access to catchup services like BBC Player or ITVx. A good number of built in device charging points. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good.

Father's day for meal. Fantastic food, good sized serving. Great service friendly staff. Can't fault it. Definitely going again

Lovely place to stay. Food was amazing. Rooms were lovely, clean and tidy.

Went to the Kestrel, Harrogate for lunch and we were very pleased with the menu selection, the prices and the service. Had an excellent vegetarian wrap and a banana dessert. Difficult to turn right when leaving as it's a busy road but there is an easy though longer way round to the left.

Easy to find, ample parking. Comfortable, clean and beautiful en suite. Food was well cooked & presented. Good choice & hearty breakfast. The staff were very pleasant & helpful.

Just had a drink and lunch. Tasty and generous portions. Friendly and efficient staff.

I came here for a food stop over for dinner and I must say, the chicken burger was so good, the sauce that was served with it was also very nice. Love The tavern pub feeling. Make sure not to smack you head off of the low beams though. The location being just outside of Harrogate is questionable but it’s good as it on the way and you don’t need to come out far to check it out (if you live in the area). Overall very good!

Great place to stay whilst travelling between north to south. Lovely old inn converted to hotel and restaurant. Louise and her team made us feel very welcome.

Stayed here before, although staff have changed, still warm and friendly welcome and can't do enough for you. Rooms spotless and comfortable, food excellent and good choice of drinks etc.

Staff very friendly, rooms clean and inviting, food great. Comminication perhaps coukd be better. Hot water went of. On Weds am. We reported it still off Weds pm. We reported to be told boiler was broken, note under the door could have help. Manager did phone us to let us know it was now fixed, refund to folloe

Called in on way back from Harrogate. Place was reasonably busy but tables available. Mid afternoon but full venue available. Food was great.

Fabulous place, attention to detail on the decor immediately welcomes you. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The food is excellent, service, staff, excellent, would definitely recommend and hoping to return this year

Only stayed one night but great food and drink,reasonably priced and lovely friendly staff.

We didn't stay here but we had our wedding meal which we all enjoyed.

So I'm going off photos but met some people and ate here, it was lovely, fun and accommodating staff, comfortable and good surroundings

Wait for keys collection on arrival was a while but understandable as busy for Valentine's Day and the gentleman that dealt with us, took payment, offered to take bags & showed us up to the room. We had already checked in online which he had acknowledged so had requested early breakfast on there but he showed us where it would be served, told us it was available from 7am which would be suitable and went on to help with evening plans for food/access to property after closing etc. We were staying with another couple who had already checked in so we confirmed to meet for breakfast at 7, finish our packing and leave by 815 for a short journey to a local event; the reason for our stay. We didn't sleep much as although beds were comfy the walls are thin and floorboards creaked at every step. Again the character of the property made this acceptable and we tried to limit movement to allow everyone to get rest but set an alarm early. Turned out our neighbours were attending the same event. The room facilities were clean and ideal for our stay. We went down for breakfast slightly before 7. There was a table laid with glasses, cups, hot water and people in no uniform and without badges moved around the area but did not greet or give direction and there were no notices regarding breakfast. We helped ourselves to drinks as did our family and the neighbouring parties and sat down. One guest eventually stopped the man who we thought worked there to ask if we could order, about 715. He came and took orders from them (3 parties of 2, then us - we had arrived first) and went away. No food arrived until around 740 to be served to some of their group. He came out to my partner and I and said for the eggs royale and Benedict we had each ordered they didn't have enough sauce to do both so we had to change our orders. We edited it to poached on toast, were served last and didn't get anything until after the other party of 6 AND our family had left the dining area. When food came out, after 8am he brought a yoghurt and fruit for me, on a hot plate (for a cold dish), which I hadn't ordered. As I gave back saying this he argued with me. I pointed out that we had waited a long time, just wanted to eat early and get on our way as I had requested at check-in but he said the message didn't get through, he wasn't kitchen trained but was helping there and didn't know there would be this many people - without apology. Food was well presented but not a high standard. There was a hair on my plate. Most people left half plates. At check out, no one around, a member of staff came in to building from car park and went behind the desk in her coat, picked up a key left on the top so I just asked, as I had paid, could I just leave the key & she nodded. No interaction or awareness. Overall unhappy as arrived later than arranged at event, far less prepared than planned and stressed as well as hungry.

The hotel was lovely and warm with a welcoming feel. All the Staff were friendly as well. The breakfast was excellent value, with excellent produce

Really nice staff and lovely room with period features. Convenient location for Harrogate or Knaresborough. Would definitely visit again.

Our room was very clean & decorated to a high standard. The bed was firm which is just how we like, coffee & biscuits on the table for that morning cuppa. Couldn't ask for more, next time we will try the food after hearing good things in the bar.
