Visited this pub Monday 16 December 2024 for lunch. Invited by family friend. What a place. You really did step back in time. Great open fire And No phones, media devices. Just like the old days of conversations and friendship. Landlord friendly and willing to chat about the pub’s history. Definitely a place to go back to. Need more places like this.

I ventured into the 'arms' for the first time since about 1997.. Wow! I was greeted by the most eclectic and delightful emporium in North Yorkshire! I was further greeted by the wonderful Mike! Clearly somewhat of a legend in the region! A pint of the FINEST! OLD BREWERY BITTER. and a seat in front of one of the three constantly lit fires and I was in heaven! I was further greeted by the delightful tenants Jeanette and Alan and an opportunity to peruse some of the wonderful artefacts of the past which is a 'theme' in this delightful establishment! I left,!........Only to return the next day to be greeted by the prettiest young lady ( AALIYAH) who looks after everyone and cooks the most glorious food also. I have, and will continue to do so! returned several times since! WELL DONE HAREWOOD ARMS! You have MY vote!

Refused service: Just been refused service at the Harewood Arms due to having a young child, I was promptly asked to leave by the Manager which came across rude and abrupt. Since doing my research, I now understand this is regulation for Sam Smith pubs which is fine, but I also believe that DOGS are also BANNED from being inside the pub as well. There was a big Rottweiler looking quite intimidating barking at all the customers which was allowed within the premises, so it seems one rule for the locals and another rule for others. Thankfully I won’t be returning.

A small pub in a beautiful village location serving Sam Smith's ales. Service was great and the decor was fine but my food was just okay! Nothing more. A shame really.

Popped by, didn’t know it was a Sam smith pub. Has my two children with me and saw sign no children. No area for adults only or after 6pm. No children ever. We thought coming over from York and visiting this beautiful village we wouldn’t come across Sam smith pubs still. Very unwelcoming.i did wonder why it was empty on a Sunday. Guess it’s the vibe! We also won’t be moving to the village after discovering this!

As the landlady of the Harewood Arms in Follifoot I do wish people would be more vigilant when leaving their comments. We pride ourselves on being a happy friendly pub with great atmosphere & good service. Not to be confused with others of the same name. Come & try us you won't be disappointed I promise 🙂☺

Usually very busy - there was no one in there which should’ve been the first red flag. Ordered two pork roasts - dry meat, instant mash, roasties / veg / yorkshire were all stale & 100% not fresh or ‘homemade’ and it listed as being served with stuffing but (thank god) it didn’t come with any. When we complained the young person on the bar got the manager, who was arrogant, rude and defensive and told us we ‘should’ve ordered the beef’ like that would’ve improved the rest of the vile food that was served. Saving grace was the bar staff (just to clarify… not the manager) as he was kind, considerate and gave us a refund but unfortunately agreed the place was a dive and horrible to work for 🙏🏻 This place must’ve changed hands recently as it used to be a reliable pick. Trust the reviews !!!!

We booked here for the "Emerdale experience " as a birthday treat for my wife. I'll keep this brief: Inattentive staff, missing from the bar area , no service. The kitchen cannot wait to close which could be a bonus as the food is not the best. Unable to open bathroom windows. Just poor poor service at £130 a night

Great spot to unwind … highly recommend any time of the year. Summer the garden is fantastic to kick back and enjoy the rays. In winter or rain the fire should be on and there nothing like a pint and sitting in front of a fire. Maybe read a book too for that perfect moment

A pub from a largely bygone era. Four small bars with fireplaces was like having your own snug! A very warm welcome and amicable conversation with staff throughout our visit. We were made to feel very at home. A limited menu of home cooked meals was on offer at lunch but best to check with the pub before you go as food service days/hours are limited. Had a marvellous steak and kidney pudding! Samuel Smith bitter on the pump. Lovely visit snd would most certainly return!

Beautiful traditional cosy old pub. We stopped here for a cuppa on route to the Emmerdale tour. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. We were served our teas and coffees on a tray, teapots, biscuits, plenty of milk and sugar cubes. Cost £10 for 3 teas, 1 coffee in large cup and saucer. The menu for food had a small but good selection at reasonable prices too. The room we sat in was a quiet room, no mobiles or lap tops allowed ❤️ will definitely visit again when in the area.

We visited the Harewood Arms for a weekday lunch and were very pleased with our choice. The barman was friendly with our service, the food was all very good and hearty and the pub itself - with real fires in each of the separate snug areas - was very characterful and cosy. There was a choice of about 8 hot mains - with 3 of these being vegetarian as well as sandwiches available. When visiting family in this area of Yorkshire again, we would certainly consider a return visit to the Harewood Arms and recommend it for an authentic pub experience.

Pay no attention to the previous review which I just happened to see. These people deserve far far better than that ! My brother and I drive out here from Horsforth Leeds regularly once a week just for a beer or two. I am looking forward to eating here shortly, with my wife. The landlord Mike and his good lady wife are extremely welcoming. The flowers outside front and back, are beautiful, as is also other entire village. The pub inside is absolutely quaint and it holds quite a few humorous surprises which especially the ladies will enjoy - laughter is good for the digestion. The menu looks good and I feel certian the food will be !

Me and a mate stayed 2 nights just after lockdown ended so it was quiet. The upside was we were given a free upgrade from singles to doubles by Amanda the manager, who is brilliant, which was a great start. Covid policies are in place and adhered to without being overly intrusive. The staff were friendly with good food and drink at reasonable prices. The rooms were comfortable, clean, warm and well appointed. Nothing to fault.

A Sam Smith's pub so just their own drinks but at cheap prices. A bit tatty round the edges but the landlord and landlady are very welcoming and helpful and the Sunday dinner at £8.95 was pretty good and cooked by the landlady. The Harewood Arms at Follifoot better known as Lascelles Arms or Little Harewood should not to be confused with the poor Harewood arms at Harewood. Follifoot's is a traditional small old country pub not a restaurant and unchanged as long as I have been visiting for over thirty years. It has low ceilings with beams and when needed a welcoming real fire. Best of all it has Janette who is an excellent and friendly landlady. It has mostly regular clientele from the village or surrounding areas. BUT recently the bar stools have all been removed by order of the brewery apparently. WHY ? This just seems ridiculous as many local regulars are used to sitting on them and If anything more stools needed not less/none. I can see this as a reason to lose some trade to other pubs which do sensibly still have stools. I have always thought Sam.Smiths brewery to be sensible in keeping pubs unchanged with a good atmosphere rather than the many others 'modernised' with typically grey walls and lacking atmosphere.
