Staff very friendly and helpful, Ordered Hot and Sour Thai Prawn salad , it was delicious tasty fresh . Burger was so lovely the lasagne also x will definitely revisit

I had a delicious knox burger which was flavourful and not at all chewy except from a few bits on the bacon. Fast service considering we had a group of 8. A really nice meal for lunch!

I am 64 and have never, anywhere, ever, been given a plate with so many completely inedible items. Beef, carrots, brocoli and yorkshire pud were all too tough even to cut, let alone chew. The mash was nice though!

Waited a long time for food to arrive (luckily we were not in a hurry). Burger was ok but fries were poor and the gimmick of jumbo onion rings does not work (they fall apart when you cut them). Worst thing though was just one ale on offer which was tasteless. So I choked up £7 for a Neck Oil but resulted to tap water after that!

Wow this pub was rammed and buzzing. Great atmosphere 👌.

Ordered two sirloin steaks what came was not sirloin but rump tough wasn’t the word for it allso ordered beef in Yorkshire pudding wrap Yorkshire pudding was soggy beef was that tough you could not eat it so my meal did not get eaten and finally steak and ale pie was burnt at the bottom of it four very disappointed customers will not be going back did get a refund on beef and Yorkshire pudding meal

Lovely local pub with a friendly atmosphere. Food is delicious with a good choice on the menu. Book a table if visiting in the evening. Recently used the Knox for my dad's wake and Simon and Kate were wonderful at catering for us all.

Atmosphere was and service was great! They managed to fit a group of 14 in last minute and were very accommodating. Some of the food came out just warm, but it tasted good.

Ate and drank here for the 2 nights I parked my motorhome in the car park. Staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and reasonable pricing, highly recommend this pub! Thank you for allowing me and the dogs to stay, dog friendly bar as well 😊

I would like to congratulate Simon on establishing a fantastic vibrant pub full of joy and friendship. Chris is always a fantastic manager who has time for everyone, Millie is a dream of a staff member who will do anything to keep customers happy and ensure you’re having the best time possible on your visit, quick with a smile and always efficient in pulling you a pint as she see’s you make a b line for the bar.

I went to the Knox last night for a friend's 90th birthday party. I haven't been for quite a few years to this pub but if was really good. The atmosphere was vibrant and the food for the 90th party was delicious 😋. There was various dishes available and the small homemade savoury tartlets and homemade sausage were lovely. I talked to Simon who is the Manager and he said his wife does the catering. Excellent fare. The pub was lovely and clean and the staff behind the bar were efficient and friendly. Lovely evening 😊

Had a meal here last night. The fish that came with the fish and chips was the best fish I have had when buying fish and chips as a pub meal. Good beer ,friendly staff, good service. Service charge well deserved 😄

I originally went for a walk, but ended up walking directly into the bar. After drinking, I looked at the menu and ordered two meals. After finishing the meal, I was full and full. The beef was tender, skillful cooking, and delicious meals... from Taiwan. diners

My wife wanted steak pie and I fancied a Sunday lunch ,problem solved we booked a table could have taken the dog 🐕 all welcomed very well by the staff.well looked after beer a nice glass of wine lovely steak pie.roast beef,veg was good also will be back hopefully not too long between the visits.

Met friends here for the £10 lunch deal. Food was piping hot and nicely presented. Fast & efficient service too. We had two fish & chips, a lasagne and a Ham & eggs! All were good. Would definately go again 👍

Cosy campervan stop over for a night, and excellent food and drinks

Great location, a few parts that could have been refined. Service wasn't as attentive as it could have been. Servers leaning on the bar chatting instead of checking tables. Sunday roast is at a premium, and as such I would have expected better roasties and stuffing. Roasties were pretty bland, as was the stuffing, which reminded me of packet-mix. The rest was lovely.

Great service for our all ages party of 7 for evening meal. Plenty of choice for all dietary requirements and the chef was happy to adapt the potato wedges for the veggie option.

Lots of good things to say … the staff are friendly and the the atmosphere is friendly. the place is always clean. there’s a good mix of clientele; families and dogs are welcome. The food is the disappointing element though. Barely anything for vegans and what there is is underwhelming and overpriced. It’s not difficult to come up with more than a couple of suitable dishes, and until they do, we won’t eat there again. It’s not fair for the one vegan in our group to have a sub par meal whilst the rest of us have lots of options on the menu. Many other venues nearby provide tasty home-cooked plant-based food, so that’s where we go instead.

Haven't been for years... almost didn't recognise it inside! Unscheduled stop for lunch whilst we had an hour to kill... 3pm Sunday and it was full yo the brim! Even so, we got a table, got served, and food was delivered in good time (about 15mins)... Staff very attentive and polite, place looks lovely, dog friendly and a nice outside area too... The Sunday lunches looked fantastic, so it won't be years again begore we're back.

Nice food, lovely place with unique decor and ambience

Beavertown strangely expensive (£4 for half a pint, £7 for a pint!) but food fairly good. Nothing fancy, both dishes very cheesy (no bad thing), and appreciated the lasagne being home-made. The lunch meals being £10 seem very good value... especially compared to the Beavertown! Nice garden both sides.

Wednesday steak night, great food & amazing value! Local to us & a perfect setting with a mix of a traditional pub with a clean & on trend interior. Would definitely recommend for solo, couples or families & also very dog friendly with dog treats & water waiting by the entrance. I consider ourselves lucky to have The Knox within walking distance, thank you to the landlord & all his lovely staff, keep up the good work.

First visit to The Knox for Sunday lunch. Booking process was very easy and on arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Excellent service throughout from Daisy and very attentive and nothing too much trounble despite me being a little unclear with some of my choices. The food was excellent and the best Sunday lunch I've had for some time. Portions were generous and I was grateful for plenty of vegetables, something overlooked often elsewhere. We'll definitely be visiting again.

We hired The Barn for a birthday party. From the date of booking through to the actual event, the team were friendly, efficient and happy to accommodate our requirements. On the night, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience: a fantastic pizza and chips buffet was served exactly on schedule, Chris and the rest of the bar team provided great service and the room was the perfect size for our group, with lots of character to make it better than “just another function room” plus a sound system through which we were able to play our preferred playlist. Thanks everyone.

What an awesome place and awesome staff. We were seated straight away even though we were a bit early for our evening meal. Trust me when I say that the large nacho's on the menu is for sharing and I was surprised when it turned up. My partner had the Cod and rice dish and we were both impressed by the quick service, ice cold drinks and the staff who were fantastic throughout. Thanks to Daisy and all the staff for making us feel welcomed. Would recommend and definitely return.

Very bad food. Overcooked. Worst fish and chips I've ever had. It was completely tasteless. I got charged for the curry sauce that I didn't order. Probably hoped I'd pour it on the whole dish to cover the fact it didn't taste of anything. The sauce however, did taste of something but was very unpalatable. The decor is also bad it's like The Knox doesn't know what it wants to be. Over priced too for a pub that doesn't even make food that's up to even pub grub standard. Lady who came to collect my almost full plate when I'd finished didn't even ask "how was the food?". Don't normally make reviews but just had to voice how appalling the food was. 0 stars will not be returning.

Great solid pub food at a reasonable price and with good service

A great venue , reasonable beer and a nice beer garden. If only the food lived up to expectations! We both ordered the steak and ale pie, which arrived completely dry (obviously under the salamander for too long). The gravy hadn’t been mixed and consisted of gelatinous blobs in a light brown liquid. The creamed potatoes were powdery. We may have caught the chef on a bad night but surely it must normally be better than that.

Celebrated my mums 70th birthday here, food was delicious, plenty of choice and decent portions. We would definitely come back again if we were in the area. Nice station for dogs!

A brilliant pub with some fantastic food. I don’t often leave reviews, because I’m often underwhelmed, having tried many different pubs for food. This place has really focused on fresh ingredients that a proper pub should have. A great atmosphere and the best peppercorn sauce I’ve ever had! Having travelled all the way from Lincoln to see Brimham rocks, this was the perfect stop on the way back home to fill us up for our journey! The staff were very friendly and the service was spot on! The pub is dog friendly as well, which brings a real family atmosphere to the place!

There always seems to be plenty of staff on and the bar staff are very welcoming and helpful I had gammon and egg and it was good. The food service is always very good too and Niamh especially gets on with the job quietly and efficiently The Knox is a very good local

The venue is nice, the staff are friendly but the food is not good. We had a steak that was overcooked, a vegetarian burger that was burnt to the point you couldn't cut it on one side (and in a stale bun). Would go back for a drink but not for food.

We went for Mother's Day today. We were welcomed warmly on arrival by the owner. We were quickly shown to our table and didn't have to wait long to order drinks or food. I opted for a small size Sunday dinner and had turkey. The meal size was just right and delicious. There were plenty of options for one of our party who is coeliac. The service was great and all the staff were friendly. It was a nice busy atmosphere, we enjoyed our visit and will be back.

2 hours to get food. Veg to share consisted of 2 cauliflower 1 scoop of sliced carrots 1 scoop of red cabbage. Had to ask for more veg as this was to share between 5 people. Mash is packet mash and roast potatoes are from the freezer. The beef was tough struggled to even cut it. Waitress cleared plates before others had finished eating so 6 year old didn’t even eat his long awaited food because they had cleared all other plates without asking. Absolutely shocking and will never return again. Dog in lounge constantly barking absolutely terrible. Worst place Iv ever been to. Wasn’t just us table next to us also waited 2 hours. Yes it was busy but not once in that time did anyone even apologise for the wait.

Booked for 5 people got put on a table for 4 with one on the end (the chair was seated in front of a set of stair) so was extremely cramped. Service was shocking anytime we needed assistance the multiple servers were on their phones around the till. Yet they still added £18 on our bill for a service charge! Food was lovely just a shame about the service after I'd spend £200 odd pounds.

6 of us ranging from 20 to 87 years old went for a family meal. The food was delicious and came out quickly, and at the same time. The staff were very friendly and informative. The atmosphere in the pub is great. We didn’t stay for more drinks after our meal as we needed to get people home, but definitely will be next time. Looking forward to returning.

Gorgeous spot, lovely staff but unfortunately the food let the overall rating down majorly. Vegan options are very limited and not good quality. The burger should be a meat substitute for the price.

Automatic service charge in a local pub gets an automatic one star however good the food and service are. There is no clear indication of this on the menu or its intended distribution. Tipping is spontaneous response to good service, a service charge is just another tax. However this tax is avoidable by simply not returning to The Knox.

Went in on Christmas eve the little man incharge made us feel so unwelcome because we only wanted a drink he made us feel that we were in his way very unpleasant

Met with family for dinner twice now and had a great experience both times. I have coeliac disease and was catered for with ease, their gluten free menu is extensive with great options, I've had both the Sunday lunch and the burger now and both were lovely. Kids options are also good. Lovely atmosphere with helpful staff, would definitely recommend!

Loved it here. Nice big portions. Nanna had the beef and she said it was lovely and tender. i had the southern chicken burger. Absolutely lovely. i have 0 complaints. customer service amazing. Lovely food and service. We made most of the 30% off food deal but we still paid £85 for 4 main meal and 4 drinks so it would be out of our price range without the deal!

First time and will be back! Had an amazing steak baguette and my husband had the fish finger baguette. Lots of choice on the menu and dog friendly too! Staff were lovely…very attentive, friendly and helpful.

Came across this pub whilst out in Harrogate. I’m a vegetarian and had the vegan/veggie sunday lunch and it was really lovely! Plenty on the menu to cater for all dietary requirements. I brought my two sausage dogs with me as they are dog friendly and one of the lovely staff brought them out little roasts each, which they thoroughly enjoyed ! This was a really nice touch! Great pub, great food, great service will definitely come back next time we are in Harrogate :)

We had a wonderful evening, the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful and the food is fab - great choice for vegetarian and vegans too and dog friendly .. they even put the rugby on for us.

Very friendly welcome, good choice of food and the quality was good for the price. Nice to see a local pub bustling on a midweek night. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. Only reason I could not give it a full five out of five is the number of yapping dogs. I am a dog owner myself, love dogs and have no problem with well behaved dogs in pubs and restaurants, but there were a couple of dogs barking incessantly (and I mean incessantly!) with the dog owners and staff oblivious to the diners agreeing amongst themselves at how annoying and disruptive they were!

So expensive - 2 pints cost £12.50, then a pint, a bottle cider and some chips was £17.95. The chips were nice but the rest wasn't worth these prices.

We aren't local to the area, but popped in on the way home from our holiday. Really lovely bar and restaurant with a nice outdoor seating area. The gent that served us couldn't have been more welcoming and the food was delicious. Very dog friendly. Would recommend to anybody!

Great atmosphere. Food average and expensive. Service was excellent. Dog friendly pub and too many yappy animals for my liking who's owners didn't give a fig about fellow diners.

Can not fault this lovely, friendly establishment. We were welcomed from walking in the door (especially as none locals). Our 6yr old loves pizza and his review was "absolutely lush, the best pizza I've had". I echo his sentiments for the mexican chicken nachos, it's been a long time since having nachos this good! Hubby had cheese and bacon burger and again it couldn't be faulted. The pub it's self is nipping clean. The bonus for us is, it's very dog friendly, our furbaby was allowed in the bar, there is water to fill an individual bowl for him and dog biscuits as a treat. Staff were polite friendly and spent time having a chat with us and making a fuss of the dog. If back in the area, will definitely be paying another visit.

Expensive cider. Food was good but not enough toast with the pate, priced fairly. Service good considering only two staff waiting on tables. Very noisy as tables very close together this not ideal for the hard of hearing.

Went to the knox for my birthday meal and it was fantastic. We were a large group of 20. Kids and adults. From the correspondence for booking to the food everything was top notch. Every meal was lovely. We even had someone arrive later and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks very much team you out did yourselves. Especially Millie. Also thank you Katie for making the booking process so easy. We will come again.

Staying in Harrogate for weekend and Googled for pubs close by our accomodation and the Knox came up. We had “Small” Sunday roast (Ham/potatoes/ chips/ York pudding / stuffing / chips / gravy, with side dish of green beans/ carrots / cauliflower cheese )+ Fish and chips + Burger, Chips and side of Mac & Cheese - all were tasty with quick polite service - Fish and chips was Huge !!! Granddaughter had to get a takeaway box for her burger / Mac & cheese and chips Good food, good atmosphere , good service , good value - would recommend

Really friendly staff, good music and a great selection of drinks. We didn't eat so can't comment on food. Lovely surroundings, the place was done out lovely with clean toilets.

I’ve had such a wonderful afternoon with my husband. The staff are brilliant and the landlord (I think it’s Simon) is a really lovely guy. We had a lovely lunch, the food is excellent value for money and there’s a great selection of drinks. Highly recommend a visit as they have a great outdoor area and inside is equally nice.
