Yet another lovely welcome. Our food once again was fantastic. My husband had Fish cakes and I had Gammon followed by Honeycomb Bomb and Mini Crumble and coffee. Francesca was wonderfully attentive, even though she was very busy, she made us feel very welcome. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent classic pub atmosphere with open fires and good choice of food and drink. Unfortunately the fryer never seems to get repaired and therefore fish and chips always unavailable

Generally very good, friendly environment and staff, nice food. However, let down slightly today as choices slightly affected by broken fish fryer! No flap jack with coffee. Still, the food we chose was great, waitress was lovely, friendly and professional……. We’ll be back!

Stayed at the kestrel for one night a motorhome stop over great place car park round the back quiet lovely pub great food and dog friendly in the bar area would definitely recommend this place.

Tuesday 22nd 2024 lunchtime Excellent resteraunt, made to feel welcome straight away. Staff are friendly and polite and have excellent customer care The food was excellent, piping hot and plenty of it. Very pleasant atmosphere Will call in again, worth a visit any day of the week.

Really lovely atmosphere, Gemma our waitress was fab, attentive and friendly. There were 6 of us and all enjoyed our food - really good sized portions - we are stuffed!

We really enjoyed the day it was very very busy if anything it looked a little understaffed, there were some people looking stressed, but interactions with the customers always stayed professionaltwo of three on the adjacent table sent their meal back, which as ofter happened another person nearby also complained, if there was any fault with the meals ( turkey dinner) the parsnip was a little under done, ,they were large though.. both our plates were cleared never the less, the people complaining were saying the rosts were overcooked, on the contrary they were beautiful, but very difficult to cut, with the blunt knifes, the table adjacent were elderly so I imagine had difficulty cutting them open I hope this helps, see you next time in Harrogate for sure..

Whilst in Harrogate we visited this place. I have to say I was really pleased we did. The hotels bar is really nice and clean, it’s warm me welcoming. Very nicely decorated and a beautiful country pub look. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The service was first class. The food was divine. I had fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection, Golden crispy batter with a fluffy bit of haddock. Tasted beautiful. The chips triple cooked with skin on, chunky and again cooked really well. The filling fluffy and I really enjoyed them. The mushy peas really good. My only criticism was my tartare sauce it was far too chunky for me but the taste was amazing. So I ate what I could. My partner had pie of the day which was stake and ale, this was massive. The meat was so tender and full of gravy. She had plenty of filling within the pie. The pastry was light and fluffy. The mash potatoes had spring onions in and it was soft and free of any lumps. The vegetables she did not like the look of but when she ate them she said was delicious. The gravy was rich and tasty. A very happy pair of customers after our visit thank you

We've been to vintage inns before over the years. But the food we had was far below par. It was all a bit greasy and fried. Different to the food we've had at others in the chain

Lovely pub and restaurant. Good menu and cosy dining area. Outside dining when weather allows in summer. Lots of parking. Friendly staff and good service. Popular so booking a table probably a good idea.

The food was great and the showers were really hot and great pressure but having a family of four, only having two trouble beds (one being a pull out bed which you can feel the springs and bed from under your back) is not great. Staff are nice and a very aesthetically pleasing place!

Great food staff excellent Julie was our waitress she was brilliant. Only down side the garden and entrance to the car park could do with a tidy up roses need to be deadheaded to bring more colour to the garden apart from that a grand place.

This was our first time visiting The Kestrel. We often stay in Harrogate and decided to try somewhere different to eat—and we were not disappointed! The signature burger was amazing, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We would definitely visit again.

We visit the Kestrel frequently and always enjoy our experience but just wanted to write a review specifically to praise Gemma, whose service we thought was exceptionally excellent the other night. Thank you! :)

Always great food and great service here whenever we call in!

Only called for adrink seemed reasonable.

I had to call to be notified of my booking. They double charged me for my room and lied about availability. The room smelt of bleach and the walls were so thin you could hear your neighbours movie. The food is great the place is great but the reservations team especially Mitchell are horrible penny pinchers. I’ll never stay with the inn keepers collection again.

What a lovely place to have a really nice dinner. Emma was excellent. Knowledgeable and friendly. In fact every member of staff was pleasant . The food was gorgeous and the meat was delicious. I meant to do this before the end of the shift but it was a lot for me as I am disabled and have been poorly. Yesterday was my 1st outing and I fell asleep when I got home. It is not fair Emma should be penalised for my being unable to complete this before the end of her shift. We will be 100 % back for more Sunday lunches. We have had some disappointing meals pre to my illness. In fact there are 3 places we won’t be going to again. It’s a bit farther but well worth the drive. Thank you xx

My husband and I have just spent a fantastic evening at The Kestrel. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and willing to help. Emma was our waitress this evening and I can't praise her efficiency and friendliness enough. We'll definitely be back!

Emma was very attentive, and pleasant. She made our lunch a pleasurable experience. The Belly Pork Lunch was tasty, and well cooked. The children's Turkey went down well. The only down was the roast potatoes were overcooked, making it difficult to cut and eat!

A Horrible Stay at The Kestrel Hotel in Harrogate I recently stayed at The Kestrel Hotel in Harrogate, and it was a truly disappointing experience from start to finish. Upon entering my room, I was immediately hit with a strong smell of dampness. This was only the beginning of the issues. The iron provided in the room did not work, neither did the fan, and to top it all off, the internet in my room did not work at all, making it extremely inconvenient. What made my stay even worse was the hotel's baseless accusation of smoking in the room. They claimed i was smoking cannabis in the hotel room, which was utterly false. Despite my denial, they intrusively entered my room while I was out and recorded the space, even though there was no emergency or fire risk. This level of invasion of privacy is something I have never encountered in all my years of staying at hotels. Overall, my stay at The Kestrel Hotel was incredibly disappointing. The room conditions were poor, and the staff's behavior was unacceptable. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fabulous place. Great atmosphere. If you're planning on eating, it would be advisable to book as it gets busy.

Don’t by the fish and chips! when I first bought the fish and chips I looked down and saw my worst nightmare unfolding in front of me. It wasn’t cooked properly and I was disgusted with the price of it aswell.

Stayed here on Sunday 29th over night stay the room was fantastic well worth the price and to say we had a front room it was really quite .The breakfast was great really filling ,would really recommend the place and we would definitely stay here again , The staff very polite friendly and helpful. I am very impressed with this place

Called in for a quick lunch, fantastic pizza. My other half had the three for £10 bar snacks, scotch egg, onion rings and chicken, massive portions. Attentive staff and good beer. Would heartily recommend.
