The best restaurants serving Default food in Mid Holderness East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Website does not show a food menu or what times you serve food, so cant come which is unfortunate as friends say food is decent.

Tenía el cordero asado el domingo y los recortes, el cordero era una porción generosa, gruesa y tierna, el mejor cordero que hemos tenido en años. Las verduras también. El hongo Stroganoff tenía demasiada cebolla y fue decepcionante. No hay mucha opción vegetariana, necesito al menos otra opción. Todos disfrutaron de los postres, estaban muy buenos. El servicio era bueno, las camareras eran conversadoras y divertidas.

We had such a lovely time at the George & Dragon! First off, free parking and a kids’ park – always a win. The staff were so warm and friendly, it really made us feel welcome from the get-go. The food was fantastic – freshly cooked, arrived piping hot, and tasted amazing. Portions were really generous too, for both the adults and the kids. What really stood out was how thoughtful they were with the little ones – after the kids finished eating, they were each given an Easter treat bag with a Cadbury egg and some other sweet goodies. Such a lovely touch! The toilets were spotless, which is always appreciated, and I noticed they even had free feminine hygiene products available – a small but thoughtful gesture, especially if you’re caught short. We finished off with some delicious puddings that hit the spot perfectly. Honestly, everything was just spot on – would definitely recommend if you're looking for great food and a friendly, family-focused atmosphere.

We decided to pop in for lunch as the cafe owners had launched a new menu. All I can say is wow! We had burgers and chips plus a big slab of cake for dessert. Even our vegetarian 11year old daughter enjoyed the food and she is really picky. Thank you we will be back again.

Have visited Stag many times and it never fails to impress. It is such a welcoming, family run pub with a community feel. It also serves fantastic food using quality produce, great menu with traditional pub food as well as weekly specials with a twist. I would recommend pie night(Monday) chicken curry is my favourite.

We decided to come here for some Sunday lunch, we were greeted with have you booked? We said no (wasn’t aware we had to) but we will happily sit outside, he said ok well we are fully booked and the restaurant will get priority and receive their food first (the restaurant was empty), we said ok that’s fine. After deciding what to eat we came back to order to which there was now a woman behind the bar, we said can we order please to which the reply we got very abruptly was order what? We then chose to leave and eat elsewhere. This seems to be a very ‘clicky’ place and the staff do not seem to like or welcome new customers, so if you are deciding to eat here, don’t! I have never experienced such rude and unprofessional staff. There are plenty of other nice places nearby who will be happy for your custom!

Me and my husband got married here on Friday 23rd May 2025 and we had a twilight wedding. I have to say from start to finish everything was absolutely amazing! The room where we got married was out of this world beautiful, the room we had our night do in was also stunning, the food, the music, everything was just absolutely amazing! The staff couldn’t do enough for us to make sure we had an excellent day and Jenny made sure we felt at ease with everything and made the day run smoothly! The room we stayed in was immaculate and the bed was so comfy! We had the most amazing day thanks to the gardeners country inn! We would highly recommend! Thanks so much, from Mr and Mrs Matos-Gois! We will be back soon for some food! P.S. sorry again about the bubbles 🤦🏼‍♀️

Nice welcome friendly staff. Limited gluten free options staff were unsure if items could be adapted to be gluten free. They said there was a risk of cross contamination so not suitable for ceolliac. Food that we had was well cooked and tasty.

Quality food, excellent service and fast delivery everything was as you’d expect from a takeaway. Highly recommend.

I have eaten in the Stables Kitchen twice recently and I am impressed by the food, the cafe itself and the people too. We had sandwiches, which were fresh, tasty, generously filled in a nice bread and the pot of tea was nice too. Thank you so much for getting in right, so many cafes don't. I look forward to my next visit.

Nice glass of wine in the sunshine surprised it was now a Chinese restaurant.

Advertised as £10 bottle of processco not the case false advertising said processco weekend was charged £17 for bottle plus pint lager. When asked was told is had changed if it had changed then should have a notice up saying so

Says open arrived 8.30 but not open till 9.00am needs changing

We arrived later than our booking due to traffic , the team at nags head was very friendly and welcoming , there was 13 of us the food came out within half an hour and was excellent. Thank you We will be back
