Camerton take notes!! This is how you do pub food x the steak and ale pie was unreal, lovely staff too. We've been going Camerton for year's but has gone so far downhill so this will 100% be our new local

Good quality tasty food with decent size portions

Love this place. Great atmosphere and always a friendly welcome. Cosy when it’s cold as they light the big real fire. Great food and a really reasonable children’s option at £7 for 3 courses! Can’t beat their beef steak stroganoff with rice and chips. Their red Merlot wine is lush too.

Always a warm welcome and great service. Such a warm atmosphere and lovely setting. The usual menu choices but done well. My favourite is always the steak strogonoff with rice and chips. Merlot red wine is always good. My grandson was with us and the children’s 3 course meal is excellent value at £7! This time we had a couple of sweets which were very nicely presented. Chocolate cake and raspberry pavlova.

Our first visit to The Stag inn did not disappoint.we received a warm welcome and were quickly seated and drinks order taken. Our waitress was polite,friendly. and attentive all throughout our meal.The food was delicious and hot.We had the Sunday lunch. It was also Mother’s Day and we received some daffodils and a cupcake which was a really nice touch.We have a holiday home nearby which we rent out and will now be recommending our customers they visit here.

Stumbled upon this place by accident and oh, was it a gem! Great menu, staff totally made the visit even better than it already was. The food was impeccable, good portions and a great choice too. Definitely ask for the pudding menu!

I went to The Stags Head Inn tonight for a meal with family to celebrate my birthday and I wasn't disappointed, although having been several times previously, I wasn't surprised. My birthday happened to coincide with steak night, which was a bonus, and I also tried some of my wife's steak and ale pie which means a return visit, possibly on pie night, is looking likely in the near future. Service was good from the friendly and professional staff. The food was well cooked and tasty, and arrived in a timely manner. I had a lovely meal and would recommend The Stags Head if you are looking for a traditional pub with excellent food, drink and service.

We hosted my son’s christening at the Stag last weekend and we couldn’t have asked for a better day! Emma and Chris couldn’t have done enough to make us feel more welcome and ensure our day ran smoothly. From the minute we enquired about hosting it with them they were friendly and professional, being super accommodating with all our requests, to helping us pack our gifts in the car at the end of the day they really couldn’t have done enough for us. They provided a hot buffet which was absolutely delicious! Everyone commented on how tasty the food was. The pub itself is in a gorgeous idyllic countryside location, with a log burner in the bar and such a friendly team, it really is the best pub in the area. Thank you again for making our little boys christening so special. We will 100% be visiting again!x

Having booked, prepaid and menu pre-ordered we arrived on Saturday 20 January 2024. After getting our drinks, speaking to other guests it was brought to our attention no table was available for us and we were then placed in a side room with only us and a few other guests (just drinkers they weren't there for the Burns Night). The customer care was shocking. No additional service to check we were okay was offered. A bag piper was playing in the main pub area but we could not see him as we were totally away from everything. After leaving a review on Social Media I have since been blocked and the post removed. It is clear the Management lack customer care and it is easier to block negative reviews. How many more bad reviews have been deleted? If you are looking for a lovely meal out I would highly recommend The Nancy Inn at Burton Pidsea, five minutes up the road, where the Management and staff are attentive to their customers and nothing is too much trouble. We spent in total £270 for the night out and it was a complete waste of money.

We were staying nearby for a New Years break and found this gem for New Year’s Day dinner. The atmosphere was amazing, you can tell it’s well loved by all. It was welcoming and cosy the staff were lovely and the food was incredible. We would definitely travel to come back for more food!

What can I say the food here is amazing and the service and staff are just as good l. We had the black pudding scotch eggs, loaded fries, chilli chicken onion rings, it was all so tasty and I would highly recommend this pub

Have been a couple of times recently and had excellent meals in a lovely, friendly atmosphere. It is honestly a delight to eat there.

Working down hull for a few days. Found this gem out in the sticks. Cracking pint food was tremendous so we came back the next day for the steak night. Gave Miller and Carter a run for it's money. 35 quid for 2 steaks 2 pints and 2 sauces. I felt like I'd robbed them. It was LOVERLEH

Great pub, fantastic table service with an interesting menu. If, like me, you need gluten free choices this is a must for you. The gf options are plentiful and the staff are very knowledgeable. The pub was busy in the evening so I would definitely advise booking.

Excellent food, lovely wood burner, a really warm place with friendly staff, just what you need for a cosy winter meal. Car park at the rear is tight but most country pubs have this issue. Subtle background music would have been the icing on the cake to create an even better ambiance instead of just conversations. We will definitely eat here again!

Popped out fairly local for a bit of a date night meal. Staff are friendly and service was prompt. Good choice of drinks, although I only had a fruit cider and my other half had a Baileys espresso martini. Very nice. The food arrived promptly, very hot and fresh. I had the Haloumi Fries and OH had chicken goujons. Both very nice. For mains it was Fillet beef stroganoff for my OH and I opted for the fillet steak 🥩. Both meals were cooked perfectly and very hot. Couldn't manage a desert this time around, but we will be back try the rest of the menu.

We had a great afternoon yesterday at our annual bingo and baubles Xmas dinner. Food was delicious, couldn't fault it. It came piping hot which was a bonus. Emma, Chris, Emma's Mam and staff worked so hard. Thank you so much all of you x

Great venue log fire burning friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble when ordering, and I forgot to mention excellent food and great value for money, the home made steak pie is to die for.

Staying at Westfield country park, decided to go out for dinner, Food is amazing… stag mixed grill is to die for with the garlic butter oh my god, 4 stars given to service very friendly staff but a little over the place once food came got asked by 3 different waitresses if the food is okay within 2 minutes other than that very nice pub and restaurant definitely will be recommending this

Friday night decided to go out for tea and luckily they could got us in. Yet again the good was absolutely delicious, the staff are very friendly and obliging. My kids loved being able to order their own food with the lovely young lady. Never had a bad meal, whatever you get is lovely. Even managed to do a bit of Xmas shopping whilst I was there, they do gift vouchers 😊 We will be back soon! Thank you for a lovely end of the working week tea 😊

Simply excellent. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. Most organised staff I’ve ever seen. The restaurant was full on Saturday night and not a single table was left waiting for anything. Staff were so attentive and professional it was a pleasure to see.

What a fantastic pub. The food was fantastic and very good value for money. Our burgers were the best we have had in a long time and the meat and potatoe pie lovely. It does themed nights such as pie night and steak night and is also dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will be going again ❤️

We went to the Stag last week for my husbands wake. The buffet was really fresh, tasty and varied. So many people said to me how good it was. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. On behalf of my family and friends, thank you.

Went here today for a business lunch, and have to say everything was exemplary! The pub was warm with a lot of character, the staff were extremely polite & friendly and the food was absolutely fantastic (I had steak). Would highly recommend to anyone and just a shame I don't live in the area, as would frequent often! Thanks for looking after us to all the staff 😀

Visited here today with my wife and two dogs for a late lunch. Sat outside which offered both normal and covered seating of about 6 tables. They have a good beer selection including the local great newsome brewery. I had their cheese and pulled pork beef burger which was excellent and very filling at 1/2lb. The bun was toasted which I always like, and the chips were chunky skin ones that were great. My wife had the hunters chicken and was similarly impressed. Looks cosy inside, with a nice seating area by a log burner. There was even a local art exhibition in a side room. Highly recommended.

Awful Sunday lunch .roast potatoes were soggy and microwaved ,soggy chewy yorkshire pudding. Beef tasted as if it had been reheated from the day before. Desserts were not up to the standards of what used to be good. My daughter had the special for dessert which were supposed to be doughnuts. They were dry, hard and were not so much a doughnut as they were layers of flaku pastry. Standards have gone right down, used to e lovely. Won't be going back.

Eaten here quite a few times over the last 3 years and it is always extremely enjoyable. The food is excellent and well presented while the staff, from landlord and landlady and all the others are invariably friendly, efficient and cheerful. Both lunchtimes and evenings tend to be busy so booking advised.

Most weeks we eat at The Stag and I think we have eaten pretty much everything on the menu. I really struggle to want to go anywhere else as it has everything that one could possible want. The food is absolutely amazing, great value for money, you are never waiting long before your food arrives The landlord and landlady are most welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. All the staff are polite and efficient. The atmosphere is always great and we still look forwards to every visit . If I could give ten stars - I Would 🙂

We came here about a month ago the food was delicious. After trying to find a decent place for food in the area this place hit the spot and to make it even better all the girls that were serving couldn’t have been more polite more pleasant more helpful. A very quaint dig friendly pub, the food was exceptional and the portions were huge. They even have a dog menu for our four legged family members. The outdoor area is lovely and quiet and lots of space.

The Stags Head Inn is a very popular traditional cosy English country pub, mainly focused on food. A lot of the pub is set out like a restaurant (no bar games) it has a very good reputation for its meals. I only called in for a drink. There is a good selection of beers, lagers and cider including three hand pulled cask conditioned real ales at cheaper prices than some other nearby pubs. Friendly staff, a nice pub garden, plenty of parking, Great Beer, I couldn't fault the place I had to give it five stars.

A warm welcome by the landlord who asked if we required vegan / vegetarian menu options. We were then taken to our table and looked after by the team very well. The food and service were excellent, a very pleasant dining experience.

1st time at this pub and wow home Cooked fresh homemade food and staff are friendly and welcoming the ploughman's board worth trying the coleslaw is out of this world and the hunters chicken is amazing and what can I say about the chips best chips I've ever had and price is reasonable for fresh home cooked food plenty of real ales 🍺 too
