The sandwiches we ordered (a bacon sandwich and a bacon, sausage and cheese) were very tasty, as was the chocolate concrete cake too😁

Friendly, helpful staff; great surroundings; food excellent and no one rushing you to get out and free the table up. The full English breakfast is excellent. I'm a regular during the week. Highly recommended and popular with our local Police Officers! ** Update 10/10/23 ... still great, no change!**

Great little cafe, the sausages are really nice and very tasty, breadcakes are spot on also.

It’s a lovely tradition cafe / restaurant with a lot of Charme. The people who work there are very friendly and made us feel welcome. Well.. and for the food: see for yourself. You’ll get a damn good breakfast for your money. This was a great start for our journey to Scotland. Highly recommend!

What an absolute gem of a place this is. The owner and her daughter and staff are so nice. Food is always on point and delicious. Will keep going back back.

The type of place where everyone knows everyone. There was a couple of women sitting at the table next to us who kept staring and listening to our conversation. This made me feel uncomfortable. There wasn't much choice for vegetarians so I had a jacket potato, cheese and beans. It was a big portion however the beans were nearly cold and the potato was hard.

Visited this cafe after a long walk .Ordered coffeand cake and askd for a glass of tap water. Given a long lecture by the owner about how I shouldn't expect to get tap water for free. This made me feel very uncomfortable. Will not visit again.

We pop in every month for a breakfast. Staff are lovely, food's amazing and the cafe is really cute.

We were in the area wanting somewhere to eat came upon the cafe we called in, it was very inviting, friendly staff ready to serve we had a large breakfast, didn't have to wait long , a lovley plate of hot food couldn't fault it at all, ended up taking 2 homemade scones with us all in all a lovley place well worth a visit thanks

Popped in for a coffee and toasted teacake after visiting a local car boot sale. Very clean and comfortable with pleasant helpful staff.

Stopped on our way out with our huskey kaiser. So helpfull accommodating outside for us. Had yummy bacon sandwich and very yummy sausage and mushrooms one. Would recommend any time. Easy parking around the back. Thank you.

We had an Absolutely beautiful Afternoon tea to take out what the lovely cafe owner had prepared for us after pre ordering! Wow what a treat, the photos speak for itself! The cakes were stunning and all home made! Will definitely return and recommend! Ignore any bad reviews! Superb service!

Very nice breakfast and a cracking lemon crumble cake for afters

The Hubbie and I visited today for breakfast. We rang ahead to make sure they were open, due to Covid affecting opening times etc. They open at 8.30 even though Google says they open at 9am (their website says 8.30am). There’s a car park behind the cafe which was ideal for us. I had a large breakfast and Hubble had a small breakfast and they were very accommodating in swapping out a few things on the small breakfast. All the staff were very friendly and were hygiene conscious. It was good that they had a loo too, as we had a long journey home ahead of us. It’s 3.30 pm now, and I’m still not ready for my lunch!

We had a lovely Christmas lunch today and without exception all five agreed it was brilliant all round with large plates of food which were delicious. The staff were amazing and so helpful. We will definitely be going again on a regular basis

It's a great little cafe with good food and a pleasant atmosphere, ask for the mad blonde woman in the kitchen,ask her how many different types of sausage she sells I believe there is a real good verity.

Seven of us met for lunch and it was the first time we had been to this place. The experience didn't bode well when I was refused a glass of tapwater - the others all had coffee or soft drinks. I ordered a salad which turned out to be very bland and basic. Three of us asked for mayonnaise - we were given a small pot to share. I got the impression that economy was key and therefore quality and quantity were not important in this establishment.

This is the most fantastic little place ever. The food is amazing and so well cooked and presented. I had a quiche salad. It was the best quiche I ever tasted. My husband had an omelette and this was brilliant too. The staff we extremely friendly and nothing was too much for them. We will be back

OK first I'll start with the breakfast Large breakfast 5.75 4 slices off mushroom (half a mushroom) Blackpuding undercooked Sausages slightly pink low quality. Bacon well done but actually how I like it. Hash brown soggy mess didn't eat. Poached eggs as expected. OK so 5 of us arrived as working the small village this cafe is in so decided we would have our morning meeting in the cafe over breakfast. 4 off us ordered the works fith member declined as he suffers with crones and had already eaten his special diet. The guy with the medical condition was asked to order or LEAVE and was pressurised into ordering as he took up a seat at our table! I'm sorry but no one else was going to join us at our table it wasn't exactly busy. Unkown to them he was actually the one paying for us all. When leaving an extra pound was added to each of our orders we realised when we tallied up. AVOID THIS PLACE RUDE LOW QUALITY AND HAPPY TO OVERCHARGE WITHOUT SAYING OR ASKING IN ADVANCE. AND THE FOOD IS POOR.

Brilliant breakfast, well cooked and hot, tasty and plenty of it even in the small breakfast. I had the large one which is very good value and I am stuffed :) Highly recommend this place.

Consistently, excellently cooked and presented food. Comfy village tearoom,friendly staff owner run. Nothing too much of a problem to cook if it is available. Eat in or take away available.

We called in this cafe on the way to Spurn and ordered the large breakfast with a cup of Yorkshire tea. A large breakfast soon appeared, with two rounds of toast, on a hot plate. The breakfast was beautiful and slipped down a treat. It set us up for the rest of the day. The cafe is spotless and clean with a very friendly owner. The cafe is obviously popular although it is really off the beaten track but it is well worth visiting at any time of day as the menu is extensive.

Bang on breakfast. Always very welcoming and accommodating of my kids too. Never had a bad thing from there.

We were 3 adults and a toddler first impressions , good spacious car park to the rear, lovely premises clean and bright. Very helpful member of staff , high chair provided. We ordered breakfast and drinks. Found the menu to be good and varied with veggie options with lots of choice and very good value for money. Breakfast came with toast and the tea and coffee is served in big breakfast cups. Food was fresh of good quality and piping hot. Staff are all very friendly and efficient even providing a few toys for the toddler to play with so all in all cannot recommend enough. We will be back to try the lunch menu. Photos are of a large breakfast and a breakfast bap which was huge. Three breakfasts and 6 drinks under £25 .

Lovely cafe with a vintage vibe, friendly staff and a great menu, and at prices you can afford! Very generous portion sizes, we wanted pudding but had no room after our lovely meal, so we took it home with us instead to eat later. They do a really good takeaway menu too. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Gorgeous little gem of a cafe on thorngumbald main road, car park around the back also which is handy! Plenty of seating, variety of choice for food, I recommend the breakfast or panini with a cake or sweet for pudding!! Chocolate Concrete with custard and best caramel slices in town!! Cafe decorated lovely with a vintage chic feel! Staff are always efficient and friendly! Big portion sizes and good kids menu! Local to me and a regular visitor!

Called here for the first time the other day with friends, for a spot of lunch. Nice cosy atmosphere to the place and the service was good. The menu was pretty varied, plenty of choices and reasonably priced. I'm afraid that my panini came out pretty thin and rather hard. I couldn't get my teeth through some of it. We all agreed that the food was ok but nothing more.

Called in had a lovely hot pasta salad very friendly good off road rear parking catered for my husbands fussy eating.

New kid on the block,,, former Post Office now a café for the populous... thought we would give it a try for Breakfast. Food was good and reasonably price for the plateful we were served however the staff worked on assumptions... assumptions that we wanted milk in our tea and coffee and assumed that we liked/wanted brown toast!
