We are from the north east of England newcastle We came here on Saturday afternoon our group was was family and friends the service was ok not friendly enough really for new customers . We sat in the beer garden which was lovely but left two of our girls in the bar we all brought drinks a couple actually .... they weren't rude or loud but they decided to charge their phones for a little while as we were staying at a near by campsite .... WiFi is important to our younger lot this generation especially . we were going to book for Sunday lunch but unfortunately the manager was a bit rude to our two younger people asked them to unplug there phones 📱 not a please at first . but what harm were they doing when we must of spent at least a £100 pound between us sorry but the young man served us polity but the older guy behind the reception of the hotel wasn't that welcoming and rude we would love to come back but hey what's a bit of polite service ...... at the end of the day

I wanted to thank the staff who served me back on August 13th 2022. I was cycling the Way of the Roses solo on a very hot day and had done about 45 miles by the time I arrived in Cracoe, I was suffering from heat exhaustion (shaking, felt sick, etc). They were really nice and gave me lots of ice in my drinks, and filled up my water bottles with ice cold water. The sit in the shade and the icy drinks got me through the remainder of my journey to Pateley Bridge. Thanks so much to the staff, very welcoming and helpful. Really Appreciated and saved my bacon that day.

Very disappointed with our visit. My pizza needed further cooking the cheese was only just melted, a couple of minutes extra would have been all it took. Service was very quick but I would have preferred to wait for a better quality meal. No one checked whether everything was ok, I did pass on my comments when the table was cleared but the server didn’t seem very bothered. Prices are extortionate - £3.50 for a Diet Coke is just ridiculous and it was almost flat. 2 pizzas, 2 cokes, 2 pieces of cake and 2 coffees, £51, this does not represent value for money, you could get much better value in Ilkley and at a much nicer venue. Coffee was lukewarm too but the cake was very nice, if expensive. The barn is very pretty, despite still smelling agricultural, last I visited it was still home to a horse and a food storage area. Toilet facilities are very lacking, only one toilet for the whole premises which is outside down an uneven/slippery path. My previous visit was also disappointing, again due to pricing, 2 coffees, 1 tea and 2 pieces of cake - nearly £25, I thought I’d been overcharged but didn’t realise until I got home, but maybe that is just the pricing of this place. Marketed as a farm shop/deli you would expect value for money but you definitely don’t get it! 2 visits both disappointing.

We stayed in one of the cottages as we have done previously as we like the space and views. Firstly, the niggles… parking outside the cottages is tight and in some cases very difficult to get in and out of without causing damage to cars or misc ironmongery in situ. Yes, “it’s a good job there’s a large carpark” as the receptionist said rather condescendingly, but as the spaces are there and unloading of stuff is required, it’s inevitable that cottage guests attempt these spaces and end up regretting it. Our other niggle was the breakfast team weren’t as on the ball. There was no natural yoghurt during our 3 night stay, bowls had run out and not been replenished (the staff knew but as it was approaching the later stage of the breakfast window, they’d ignored the matter) and breakfast generally was not the slick operation we’d experienced before. We had lovely meals in the snug and in the restaurant, although the snug is small (3 tables) so if two tables were being used by couples dining and one by a group just drinking (as was the case), the noise disturbance was unpleasant. On to the positives, the cottages are very well equipped and serviced to an above & beyond level each day. The staff in the bar and restaurant were all efficient & engaging. It’s a lovely place in a beautiful setting with a friendly vibe offering varied & quality food. We’d recommend and would revisit.

Staff were lovely but having paid £15 to park our car we were looking forward to a lovely lunch and a walk. The walk was great of course but very little choice of food. Ended up with a bacon sandwich which was pretty poor quality and small for £5.50. Ice cream selection was nice though.

The Cavendish Pavilion cafe is in a beautiful location with superb amenities. I have been organising group trips for a local charity for several years, and the food, staff and facilities at the Cavendish Pavilion are superb and meet all our requirements. We have enjoyed a range of sandwiches of various fillings followed by delicious home-baked cakes. Our group often comments on how tasty the homemade scones are, served with clotted cream and jam. My particular favourite is the lemon drizzle cake or a new favourite, an almond slice. Ruth and Craig, two of the staff who work at The Cavendish Pavilion, are warm, friendly, and professional and look after our group well. It isn't always easy to please everyone when it's a group event but both Ruth and Craig have provided outstanding service and managed our groups various preferences with a professional can do attitude. Our group has been delighted with the recent events, and we look forward to returning to the autumn and again in 2025.
