The best restaurants serving Default food in Weymouth and Portland South West

Atmosphere and hospitality was so sweet. I got the vegetable chow mein and curry sauce (came with prawn crackers) , big portions and came up to £8 overall. Worth the price!

Regularly buy from here as I live locally. Always friendly service and we have never had any issues with the food. The lovely lady behind the counter remembers each time I order that I dislike beef in my meals.

They now have a robot waiter so they don't have to pay a real life person to do it. Maybe the owners will soon know what it's like to be out of business and trying to find a job themselves. Then realising that so many positions have been replaced by machines there are no jobs left to apply for!

Positive - We have been coming to Weymouth for the last 5 years and we always visit The Palm House for breakfast at least once every visit. The Palm House is a nice, friendly, quirky place for a fry up. The ingredients in a full English breakfast taste like good quality and it’s decent value for money. Negative - Yesterday morning, for the first time in all our visits half of our group were very disappointed in their breakfast experience. Firstly the wait for our hot drinks and food were extremely long. We waited 20mins for our hot drinks and 40mins for our breakfasts. As usual our 3 of us had fry ups and other than the wait they tasted really nice. However 1 of our group had an omelette (£8) and when it came out it was very small, about the size of a saucer and had a small bit of lettuce. Nowhere near (£8) worth. The last a pancake with strawberries and bananas (£8). When it came out (after 40mins) it had 1 strawberry cut up into lots of small pieces and about 5 small, thin slices of banana. What made it worse was the folded up pancake was raw! That order went back as it was not fit to eat and they cooked another pancake. To make sure this pancake wasn’t raw they actually overcooked it to the point it was crispy and my group member could snap it. Sadly it turned out to be a disappointing visit for our group but because of our previous experiences we would still return next year to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Ordered 4 meals but only 3 were served, they placed one order on someone else's table.asked for single short but double was served. When I stated I was not happy with service, I was told to calm down, we're busy mistakes happen. But they were not busy when we arrived, ordered our meals & drinks. I thought the landlords attitude was poor & not that apologetic

A great value pub that has a wonderful atmosphere and allows you to bring fish and chips in from next door.

Lovely place! Great location! 4 adults and 3 children popped in midmorning for drinks and a snack while waiting for others out on the boat. They didn’t have anything snacky available at that time so we ordered some toast and the staff were so accommodating and brought out some little extras for the kids. Delicious food, lovely drinks! All round great experience!

We went to celebrate my son’s birthday, the restaurant was full and the waiting staff were run off their feet! But that did not stop Susana from being extremely attentive and helpful. The food was hot and delicious, it was a fantastic meal. 10/10

Great location with amazing view of the sunset down across Chesil Beach. The service was welcoming but we were underwhelmed by the food. We had starters and main course. The starters were good enough but we were told bread would take too long to come with our shellfish soup starters which surprised us. Then we had to wait a very long time for our mains. Not sure reason why but that meant that our plaice catch of the day and steak specials were all over cooked. My wife didn't enjoy the chicken either. The meals aren't cheap. Reality is we had much better quality and better value meals on the next evening and still had a view of the sunset lower down the hill.

It was good so good I would eat here again kids like it and wife loved it also

Love this place. Lush staff, reasonably priced food and it was delicious. The restaurant itself was really tidy and clean.

Wait was to long for just a portion of chips regular when they were contacted on orders when all I wanted was chips to long to long to long half an hour wait out of season

As always the staff were fab - friendly, helpful and professional The food was lovely - the beer and the wine are always great The downside to this visit (& we visit often) was the loos - they were a total mess and it’s not the staffs fault - they are all super busy looking after the customers - they do not stop their whole shift - I think there needs to be more staff per shift We will be back we love the pub, the staff and the setting/views
