The staff is super nice. Even though the kitchen had been closed for 5 minutes, we were still able to order a sandwich. The sandwich wasn't really that good, but everything else was great

My husband stood in the qué for 20min today. There was only 4 people in front of him. He ordered a cup of tea, girl made it, went to pay to be told card only!!!!! There were no signs when standing in the que informing us of that. We only had cash so no tea!!! I said to the girl I suppose the tea is going to be binned, she just looked at me blankly. Great customer service!!!

Fantastic view over chesil beach. Staff are incredibly friendly. Didn't think it would of been so child friendly. But I was mistaken with a wonderful sized children's menu. Thank you to the staff and keep up the good work. Ps. Love the fact you advise customers not to eat outside because of the seagulls.

Myself and my partner visited Portland for the day, and thought we would try a full English breakfast and a hot chocolate for the cost I was expecting it to be a lot better! The food was overcooked and then undercooked. I’ve had much better from a Wetherspoons 😂 massively over rated the only nice part is quite literally “THE VIEW” 👀 the atmosphere is horrendous and staff were rude! And my hot chocolate looked like dish water! Never ever again.

Called in on a wet n windy day. The staff were friendly and the menu varied whilst all looking over the beach below. We went for a selection of sandwiches which all came with crisps and coleslaw. I had a pastie with salad. All the food is freshly prepared and substantial. Please note, pay by card only and if you are longing for chips 🍟, you will not dine here, as none on the menu. We loved it and will happily return when next visiting.

Great little cafe with a fantastic view over Chesil Beach. It was a very breezy day and we were grateful to sit inside. There are lovely tables outside too. It's a colourful, foggy friendly place, as can be seen by the photos of all the doggy visitors. We visited on a Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. They were due to close at 4, the kitchen was closed but still serving hot drinks and cake. Can't comment on the food therefore. Toilets were clean. There's a cute water feature right by the toilets. Friendly waitresses. For the best view you have to wander across the road, gorgeous view over the harbour and Chesil Beach. If a cruise ship is docked, you might see it from there, but more likely from higher up another hill. There's also a stone circle just by the traffic circle, and a war memorial opposite the cafe. Ample free parking at the time we visited.

Stopped here on the way back from Portland Bill for Coffee and Cake, wish we hadn’t. You have to pay by card when placing your order. We ordered 2 Americano’s with hot milk on the side + 2 pieces of Apple Cake (no cream). Cost £17.60p!!! When the coffee and cake arrived the waitress forgot the milk. We decided to start the cake while waiting for the milk. It was very underwhelming, stodgy and lukewarm. 10 minutes later the coffee was going cold, still no milk, so went back to the counter to get it myself. The waitress had forgotten about it. The coffee was very weak tasting, poor quality that matched the cake. We live locally but will not visit here again. Poor service, poor product and overpriced!!!

I found the burger I ordered was expensive (£14) and did not represent value for money. Served with a small bowl of popcorn! Strange! Did not sit well with the burger! The cake of the day(muffin/cream/flake) was dry and quite sickly and at £5 was not worth it. All in all a very disappointing experience and would think twice about returning.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The View cafe, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations on multiple fronts. Not only does it offer a delectable vegetarian breakfast, but it is also a fantastic stop for motorcycle enthusiasts like myself. Let's start with the vegetarian breakfast. The menu at The View cafe offers a wide range of options that cater to vegetarian preferences. From hearty omelettes to mouthwatering pancakes, there is something for every breakfast lover. I opted for their signature vegetarian breakfast, and I was blown away by the flavors and presentation. The scrambled was perfectly seasoned and had a texture that rivaled traditional scrambled eggs. The accompanying fresh and crispy hash browns added a delightful crunch, while the fresh bread was the perfect accompaniment. The menu also featured an array of juices and aromatic coffees that perfectly complemented the meal. Now, let's talk about why The View cafe is a great stop for motorcycles. The cafe is conveniently located along a scenic route, providing a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. The staff at The View cafe are not only friendly and welcoming but also motorcycle enthusiasts themselves. They are knowledgeable about the best routes in the area and are more than happy to share their recommendations. The cafe also offers ample parking space for motorcycles, ensuring that your prized possession is safe and secure while you enjoy your meal. The ambiance of The View cafe is another standout feature. With its rustic decor, cozy seating, and panoramic windows, it creates a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a solo rider or part of a group, you'll find the cafe to be the perfect spot to unwind, refuel, and connect with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. In conclusion, The View cafe is a hidden gem that caters to both vegetarian food lovers and motorcycle enthusiasts. The delicious vegetarian breakfast options, friendly staff, and stunning location make it a must-visit destination. Whether you're starting your day with a wholesome meal or looking for a pit stop during your motorcycle adventures, The View cafe has you covered. I highly recommend adding it to your list of go-to spots. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

I think if I were a dog I would probably give this place a 5 star review! This cafe has the most spectacular location but it’s reception today was far from that! After a wet walk I arrived in search of a cuppa and used the boot brush outside to clean up before I entered. There is a sign that says: Please Wait to be Seated! I did as instructed and waited whilst most of the seats were empty. A bar man acknowledged my presence whilst I stood soaked through from my walk hopefull of sitting down. I waited patiently until he was finished managing what he was doing and ordered 2 cups of tea. I paid £6 for 2 tea bags but was also offered a sweetie in a paper cup which I didn’t ask for. The menu on arrival is predominantly for dogs. You can choose a dog picnic a dog ice cream, dog fish and chips and a dog roast dinner! I don’t have a dog!

Really poor customer service. Had to wait to be seated whilst waitress chatted. Table was dirty and we had to be asked for it to be cleaned. Everything seemed too much trouble for either of the 2 waitresses. We had Dorset Apple cake at £6 and a pot of tea for £3 each. It felt overpriced. For £27 for the three of us it would have been better to spend our money elsewhere.

Rubbish coffee. Ordered 2 lattes and asked for double shot and the abrupt lady at the service counter said that’s how it came out the machine. Tasted like dishwater, big disappointment after she charged me £8 to take away. I wouldn’t pay that in Costa and when I said she had overcharged me after checking the menu, she said it cost more for take out. The coffees were served from a cheap coffee machine, no artisan effort whatsoever. Wouldn’t go back, don’t order coffee here - poor quality, poor value. Give it a miss

Brunch at The View! Sat outside, plenty of space between the tables (so the dogs didn't try and join everyone else!). Food was filling and tasty but the real winner is the view. You can sit inside and it doesn't take long for the food to arrive. It didn't seem too busy but there was a steady stream of people arriving. Parking is free at the front of the hotel, prices seem to be on a par with other places, the breakfast sandwiches did seem a little expensive when compared to the breakfasts though.
