the food was terrible, chips were hard , ribs were inedible all fat and grisle, the treacle pudding was just a hard lump of not edible rock sponge , the lemonade was half full when delivered, shocked how bad it was and it's not cheap at harvester so just wasted my money, will never order here again

Was nice and will order again but would not have the sage and onion chips again as we found them to be way to salty

Booked for breakfast with santa! In the kids words, the santa experience "was the best ever" the grotto was decorated amazingly and santa was BRILLIANT. All kids got to pick a present and have photos taken by parents with santa. We would highly recommend taking the kids there, the breakfast and service was fantastic too!! A*

Missing items from my order called the restaurant to let them know so they can inform just eat regarding refund but didn’t seem to be bothered at all. Didn’t want a full refund as had half a meal delivered but no option for this in the refund form

Staff were very friendly. Venue was not too busy as it was Monday. Food was good, enjoyed by all.

We hadn't booked but they had room to accommodate a family of 6. We were able to sit and eat in the bar area with our dog. Unfortunately only 3 staff working and the restaurant area was moderately busy. Salad bar was disappointing we had to ask for items not available but we're told they had completely run out, bread rolls were hard and stale. our main meal was good, hot and qauntity good. Toilets not very clean. Not our first visit but service does seem to vary quite a lot. Staff could be more friendly and welcoming.

Absolutely excellent from the moment we walked in to last mouthful of beer. Food and service couldn't fault. We will return again and again We had the Festive menu tonight which was great.

Service was very slow, food was basic. 1 meal sent back as it was cold, mushroom tart burnt around the edge. The saving grace was our server who went above and beyond. The nail in the coffin was seeing a chef wiping his hand across his nose as we left. Won't be going back anytime soon

I visit harvester spyglass nearly every week and have been for months now and I cannot fault the food or the atmosphere the staff are excellent I will say that manager lee smith is absolutely brilliant very polite always cares about the customers visit, always checks on us making shore everything is ok, Lee is an absolute legend love my visit every time, can also say that Emma bar staff member is lovely always helpful friendly always likes a laugh makes visit special thanks guys

It was my birthday and the table was booked. Approaching the pub, we had a really bad puncture and on arrival had to phone the breakdown for recovery. Rose met us and was so kind. She re-arranged bookings so that the table was ours for as long as we wanted, phone the owners of the car park to inform them of the incident so that we didn't get a ticket as the car had to remain there overnight. Kept our meals hot and even cooked one of them fresh again as the breakdown arrived sooner than they had said just as the meals arrived. She was just so kind and helpful as it was very stressful. Finally she arranged a taxi back to our holiday cottage for us. The next morning we had to go through the whole procedure again with the breakdown (new volvo cars do not have a spare tyre!) Again the staff on duty could not do enough for us. Very impressed with their customer service. The meals were yummy too by the way !

I was really unhappy this time. The food was freezing cold, was really all over the place when it arrived by delivery, it cost £58 and the majority went into the bin, was a waste of money and they forgot my beans! I will not order again.

Enjoyed a really nice meal here with my son. The food was well cooked and really tasty. We also enjoyed the unlimited salad and drinks. I will say it did take about an hour from ordering our main meal to getting it. But otherwise a fab place to eat.

We had a good experience with service and food this has been my second visit here. Location is nice with ample parking. Table service was wonderful and didn't have to wait long. Enjoyed our time and a nice inside decor too. Will definitely come back.

We went today for lunch and were put in the corner of the bar because we had a small dog with us, which was fine. We had to ask for cutlery even though the waitress knew where we were sitting. My partner had a steak medium rare flatbread dish which I had to take to the bar and ask them to cook a steak medium rare as the one she has was well done. Shoe leather! Less than 2 minutes later the steak was brought back, it was the same steak I had just taken to the bar, the reason we know this is because my partner cut into a piece of steak before it went into the kitchen and this is what was brought back to the table. So they have lied about cooking a fresh steak. At no point did anyone come to our table to check everything was okay, even though we had sent a dish back to the kitchen. The salad bar was was poor and the staff that was there looked miserable, and there wasn't very many people in the place so there was no excuse to the poor service and terrible food. To think we spent just under £90 for what can only be described as low standard food and bad service. We will not be back Add on:- I am not after an argument or to belittle anyone just to point out that the food and service was poor for the price. Others may have an amazing experience and that's great, however when the response back is a standard click, cut and paste with no real point or explanation "we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service, so we are disappointed to hear that your visit with us was anything less than satisfactory. Spyglass" It really shows that the poor service, attitude and lack of empathy comes from the top.

Breakfast was warm. Got white toast when brown was ordered. Poached eggs were hard Don't order Americano coffee as its not "unlimited " . Also had to ask for kids menu, even though we had children with us. Won't be returning anytime soon for breakfast

Attended for dinner, 60 minutes waiting for food then to be told we have not got my meal I ordered. I’m diabetic and already taken incline before my meal. Waiting so long made me have a low-hypo attack. Do not use this harvester, Mitchell and butter has been informed of this incident and will be conducting a investigation.

Extremely good service from duty manager Lee. He went out of his way to be helpful with our dietary requirements, despite being very short staffed and ongoing problems with the computer system.

Normally love harvester, but this vist was disappointing in the food. Normally, it's brilliant, the menu had changed, and prices had gone up to around £15 to £23.99 for main coarse. Add a drink you looking at around £25 to £30 a person. Salad bar needed filling up, only got done when I asked a member of staff to fill it up. Kids' chicken strips were really dry. Sage chips weren't the greatest tasting. Dirry chicken was great and also dry. Paying £18 for a burger, expect it yo be good. Service was excellent and very attentive. Location is excellent, clean, and pletty of space. Also go outside garden, which has nice views, good seating.

Appalling. Small family get together and also a teen's birthday so didn't want to cause a fuss. Almost empty restaurant and the salad bar needed re-stocking at 7.30, it didn't get replenished the whole time we were there; we should have left. Had over 1 1/2 hour wait for mains and the children were very fed up when the food arrived at almost 9 pm and it was cold, very dry, elements missing from most meals and very small portions. It was inedible and we left without eating. £9.80 for a 250 ml glass of wine and the carpet was filthy. Can't believe we stayed that long but the kids were starving and we kept hoping it would be OK. Had a takeaway on the way home.

Why accept the order if you cant make it in the time? Would u leave customers for 2hours in the resterant? I hope not. Terrible and foods cold.

Visited for a family reunion and sons birthday there was 11 of us, booked for 7.30. Place was almost empty but we were told there was 1 1/2 hr wait for food. The floor was filthy, the food was awful, overcooked, food missing from the meal, overpriced for what we got. Salad bar not replenished. No staff. Waited longer than 1 1/2!! Did not support and help with bringing one meal out early for my Autistic child who found it difficult to understand why he had not eaten by 9pm. Team leader on tonight did apologize, listened to our complaints and resolved the matter with no fuss. So very disappointed, ruin the family meal and went home very hungry.

Ran out of vegan beyond burgers so served my vegetarian wife and son with meat ones instead - well done team! but at least they still put the green cocktail stick flags in them to show as veggie - my son was mortified learning he’d eaten meat after 11 years and was distraught. Front of house service great but kitchen staff sadly lack training, education, common sense or were just having a laugh. Sadly we were not, such a shame. Otherwise, floor around our table was full of fallen food, salad bar was basically empty and pretty much resembled a food fight arena. I’m sure it’s not like it all the time but our experience was completely unacceptable. If you are vegan or veggie maybe head into town to an alternative establishment.

So the other reviews are correct the service has been very slow and the food relatively cold and tasteless but I still feel it’s best to balance with some positives. While waiting I read some reviews where the duty Manager had responded so I decided to speak to the duty manager about my issues, she was polite and very apologetic, we discussed the reasons and how she was doing everything she could and offered a refund, although yes the service speed and food was bad she done everything she could do to try to resolve. I saw another customer have issues aswell and the waiter refunded all the food that was an issue. So in summary yes it’s not good but all the staff except one were doing their best and tried to put things right so fair play.

Salad bar is good service is poor and slow customer service is poor don’t come here they keep you hostage for hours on end would give -10 stars if possible

The worst Harvester we have ever been to! Upon arrival we had to wait 5 minutes to be greeted and seated. There were about 5 other tables being used, the rest was empty. The salad bar was almost empty apart from brown lettuce, dry cucumber and stale croutons. Waitress took our order and seemed rather put out that I had an allergy. I was made to sign forms which I have never had to do in any other Harvester. I had to ask for the salad bar to be filled up as they were all ignoring the fact it was empty. After an hour and no food arriving to our table we offered to pay for the drinks we had and left. The whole place needs knocking down or a serious amount of cash invested in a refurbishment. It is a prime position and should be busy. Some rotten decking and rotting beach huts really spoil what could be a fantastic view. Really need to look at Durley Chine or Boscombe Harvesters for how to do it right!

We as a family of 8 went for a meal and had a few issues.A chicken burger was ordered and unfortunately the bacon on top was cold but I think that was because the bun on top was very cold for some reason. Also had a well done steak but it still had blood showing It was more like medium/rare. Apart from that it was fine. But we also noticed other food going back. It’s a shame as the service was A1.

Went here today for my birthday and it was dreadful over priced and the food was cold I ordered s The sirloin steak was still mooing when Id asked for well done and it was a lump of fat couldn't even cut through it they replaced it with ribs that were still pink so wouldn't eat that either my partners food was okay so we payed for his ,so I sat there with no food watching him eat personally I wish we'd both left , please don't waste your money on the food here as it's not good at all really disappointing only thing that was nice for me was a bottle of coke and I think we should of only been charged for the drinks not happy at all but the girl who served us was lovely also there was a family on the table next to us who allowed there teenage son to take his trainers off so all we could smell were his feet very unhygienic

Don't order on Just Eat, completely rubbish ordering system, ordered for delivery 5.30, courier never delivered until 6.50pm food was cold and half the order was missing. Absolute joke and no refund either. Never again.

Half of the menu was not on very limited food was coed when it came. Salad bar was nearly empty, very limited choice.

We booked a table for 7pm, why they took the booking I'll never know ,I was told there might be a wait but an hour and 10 minutes was terrible, when the food came it was totally cold (pork) , we paid for the meal but funnily enough didn't eat much , money back would be nice

First time visiting spyglass as we visit Weymouth alot but unfortunately winter be going back as staff were miserable and complaining about large bookings between them selves for later that evening and food food was mediocre at best but it was clean inside but garden area was dirty and unfortunately not maintained its a shame as empty salad bar and no sauces and had to keep asking if they were going to be refilled but no ribeye and no choux bun desert either as the 2 items I tried to order were out of stock so unfortunately id give it a miss and try elsewhere

Food cold and took a long time to collect. Was told I wasn’t expected to arrive for another 12 mins as I was earlier and despite this it was still cold

Table prebooked. But was taken. Seated for about 15mins before I stopped staff to make my order. The guy had zero manners who took the order. No salad bowels for another 5 mins. Fish was served hot on cold plate, chips and peas also stone cold. Staff never took plates away. Never approached all night either. I had to walk to the desk to pay then got refered to the bar (table 1) 6.30 booking Very disappointed, was really looking forward to a nice meal.

Visited back in March. Food was delicious and the service was Outstanding. Nice and clean. Highly recommended

Popped in on a Saturday evening, bar area was nearly empty, but every single table was stacked with dirty plates. I asked at the bar if there was a wait on food, was told no. I ordered the side of topped Mac n cheese for £5.99. More than 30 mins went by, staff were stood around polishing cutlery, tables still weren’t cleared. I had to go and ask where my food was as it what been so long. The dish can out shortly after and it was tiny - just a spoonful of pasta with toppings - was not worth the wait. Server seemed confused that I would want cutlery to eat a Mac and cheese!

Food was very nice except waiting 20 minutes for a kids pudding to then be told ice cream machine has broke, Service was terrible place wasn’t busy but everything seemed to take ages ordering drinks the staff took the order at the table but was no where to be seen had to go up and get own drinks twice in the end. Atmosphere was awful was put right by the kitchen having to listen to a wannabe gangster rapping the same words over and over again for the whole time loudly. Seemed like the staff members is treating it like a social club it’s a shame because we come here quite often. Was issued bit of money back for this complaint just a shame was for a birthday meal.

Partner and I both had, salad bowl, obviously, love a Harvester salad bowl. garlic mushrooms for starter and gammon steak, chips, egg, pineapple ring, onion rings and peas for main.The portions are very very generous. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Place was very clean. Highly recommend a visit should you be visiting Bowleaze Cove.

We booked breakfast,10am Sunday morning with friends. Service was awful, 45mins to get a coffee. Hour before we ate, no butter with the toast. Poor service and slow due to lack of staff.

Food has been better, lack of choice at the salad cart was disappointing, too many flies buzzing around the salad cart & around the table. Salad bowls are really small too.

Waited 1 .5 hours for our mains,people complaining but still waiting 1 couple cancelled the order Meal came it was just warm half way through eating waiter came as if ok told him it was barely warm he offered to get replacement but passed it by now Eat some of the meal payed and left. Alway come here when we are in weymouth but no more it's gone down hill

I walked in before making a reservation. I was denied a table even though I could see free tables. I could make a reservation online. But I would choose not to go there although I got my reservation. Such pathetic service. Racist behaviour by the staff and that’s unacceptable.

Just had two diabolical meals here. Ordered food 1830. Served at 1925. Chips okay. Wow! 10 out of 10. Rest of it, steak, chicken, goujons, veg , all cold. If you are holidaying in Weymouth, avoid this place like the plague. Partner and I walked out, refusing to pay.

Taking advantage of a special offer we decided to visit The Spyglass for a mid-week evening meal. Although they were running with a reduced number of staff we were never made to feel that we were being ignored and our server was really polite, apologetic for the delay in taking our order (which quite honestly wasn’t that long) and attentive. I would also like to thank the chef and server who stopped us from eating what we were getting from the salad bar due to a contamination event - apparently another diner had been coughing over the salad items, so everything that was out on the salad bar was being replaced with fresh. This intervention was much appreciated and again the staff were very professional and polite. I’m not sure what happened around 8pm when staff were informed that they couldn’t serve any more food (this did not affect us as we’d already finished eating) but we were impressed with how they dealt with (clearly disgruntled) diners who were unable to order their food, as this was obviously an unexpected issue that had just been actioned from higher up the management chain. Well done to the team working. You stayed professional and calm under what seemed to be very difficult circumstances.

quick and fast service ,great food

Was greeted with a smile and a good evening, was shown to our table straight awsy, our server took our order soon after sitting down. Drinks arrived quickly as did the salad bowls. All was great throughout our visit

We had fantastic evening, we had a lovely meal and Terry took care of everything going smooth. Terry was a perfect host.

We were so impressed with our first visit three weeks prior that we came again to celebrate my birthday. We were quickly seated, by a smiling hostess and the amazing waiter who looked after us last time was again assigned to our table. Sadly last time I didn't catch his name so my wife made sure we got it this time so he could be praised properly. Bud was fantastic. He was cracking jokes, attentive to our little one and spent ages chatting to my dad who tends to waffle a lot. Bud's humour was on point and he looked after us wonderfully. It was almost a shame to say goodbye. The food was excellent once again, and because of this and the excellent service from Bud, we will be back again for our anniversary!

Went 630pm and what i wanted didnt have so 2nd choice .Which was ok then pud ice cream machine broke so no pud i wanted . Staff pleasant .

Order arrived after an hours wait, with only half of one meal.. and NONE of the other meal delivered. So a long wait for literally nothing but a small burger to arrive. Terrible all round, highly DO NOT RECOMMEND you purchase from here.

I have found Harvesters in general a bit hit and miss in the past so didn't expect too much but I was pleasantly surprised. The reception and our server were very efficient and helpful. The food was very good, cooked as ordered, presented well, hot and tasty and the salad cart was stocked well. Compliments to the chef. There was plenty of parking and the toilets were clean. Everything you would expect.

The food tasted great but there was quite a wait. We arrived at 830pm but mains didn't arrive till 930pm. Must been short of staff in the kitchen. Service was very good.

Wonder full place service wonderfull

This was our first visit to Harvester in Weymouth and it was excellent. Good food freshly cooked and a wonderful fresh salad bar where we could simply help ourselves.The Manager,Terry, made us very welcome, sorted out an ideal table for us and was very helpful when we were ordering our food. Quite frankly the service he provided to us was outstanding.

The lady who greeted us and took us to our table was lovely. That was the best part of Our visit. The waitress came and took our order ok but served our drinks and put my husbands drink on the menu he was looking at. Food was ordered. Salad bar was near empty and despite someone sorting tidying up it didn't look like it was being filled. No plates for bread rolls. No salt to be found anywhere. Server brought out our meals, plonked them down on table. Waitress came back to ask if everything was OK with the meal but before she had even finished asking she was moving away from us. We felt that she didn't care one way or other. I noticed a few other customers having an issue with her aswell

We have often gone to the harvester Weymouth for an afternoon lunch. They told us they were fully booked but we could eat in the bar which we did even though the restaurant only had a few people in the whole time we were at the harvester Laid the table and the cutlery was dirty. We ordered our meals and two out of three of them arrived cold the salad bar was not well presented and there were no rolls. This was a big disappointment as I have not been out in a long time due to health reasons.

Service was slow, almost an hour before order came out and another hour before dessert arrived. Food was ok apart from one meal that was overcooked and impossible to cut into. Really disappointing but server was apologetic to the extent of discounting bill which was much appreciated.

What a shame, we went for a family meal this evening. No mixed grill, no gammon, no chicken coujon, no fish, no spinach pasta - it would have been easier for our poor server to tell us what we could have. The nourish bowl that I ordered wasn't up to scratch, the rare steak my husband ordered was more like well done. When mentioned to our very helpful server, he was very apologetic and helpful and gave us a reduction in our bill. Couldn't fault the staff and the restaurant looks good and has a great view.

Have been coming to weymouth for 15 years for holidays with my family and we always come to the spyglass for meals out, lovely food and drinks. The service we get is excellent everytime we go there. Looking forward to visting the spyglass in august when i am in weymouth on holiday.

Everything you would expect of a move harvester. Lovely and polite staff, the usual good food and atmosphere. They were missing a few things off their menu the day I went but nothing that effected our meal choices.

Waited an hour for our order to arrive. When it arrived my burger and the chips were cold. Not warm, not tepid but cold to the touch. I will not make the same mistake twice.

Visit the spyglass several times a yr for food not had a bad meal or service,. Yes it needs sum tlc to which I've been told is due in the near future. An thats beyond the manager/ staffs control . Large carpark just enter your car reg into system at service desk on entering. As for Dogs personally they should not be in establishements that serve food was always classified unhygienic untill the law changed sumtimes not for the better. wife an myself had breakfast here today food was excellent as always thanks to all the staff. Everything was great. Apart from the waitress that showed no interest in her job or us.

Food was soggy and inedible in the condition it arrived in. Delivery time kept being pushed back so waited 1 and a half hours for our food.

Came in for lunch sat in bar area due to having dog with us ordered food at bar when it came the balance bowl was swimming in salad dressing only required drizzling over and the pasta shells some were chewy and some were hard in fact combined with the garlic bread i could have drummed a tune on both. Staff seemed unhappy in their work except the young lady who brought out the food hence why I gave service a 3 that was for her unfortunately the place needs a revamp and to employ a chef not a microwave

Typical Harvester. You know what you're getting food wise, it's a fair price and fills you up. The Weymouth staff are extremely efficient and very polite and friendly. When the weather is good sitting outside is a must as the views are superb.

We love the harvester food, our waitress was super.
