The lady who greeted us and took us to our table was lovely. That was the best part of Our visit. The waitress came and took our order ok but served our drinks and put my husbands drink on the menu he was looking at. Food was ordered. Salad bar was near empty and despite someone sorting tidying up it didn't look like it was being filled. No plates for bread rolls. No salt to be found anywhere. Server brought out our meals, plonked them down on table. Waitress came back to ask if everything was OK with the meal but before she had even finished asking she was moving away from us. We felt that she didn't care one way or other. I noticed a few other customers having an issue with her aswell

We have often gone to the harvester Weymouth for an afternoon lunch. They told us they were fully booked but we could eat in the bar which we did even though the restaurant only had a few people in the whole time we were at the harvester Laid the table and the cutlery was dirty. We ordered our meals and two out of three of them arrived cold the salad bar was not well presented and there were no rolls. This was a big disappointment as I have not been out in a long time due to health reasons.

Service was slow, almost an hour before order came out and another hour before dessert arrived. Food was ok apart from one meal that was overcooked and impossible to cut into. Really disappointing but server was apologetic to the extent of discounting bill which was much appreciated.

What a shame, we went for a family meal this evening. No mixed grill, no gammon, no chicken coujon, no fish, no spinach pasta - it would have been easier for our poor server to tell us what we could have. The nourish bowl that I ordered wasn't up to scratch, the rare steak my husband ordered was more like well done. When mentioned to our very helpful server, he was very apologetic and helpful and gave us a reduction in our bill. Couldn't fault the staff and the restaurant looks good and has a great view.

Have been coming to weymouth for 15 years for holidays with my family and we always come to the spyglass for meals out, lovely food and drinks. The service we get is excellent everytime we go there. Looking forward to visting the spyglass in august when i am in weymouth on holiday.

Everything you would expect of a move harvester. Lovely and polite staff, the usual good food and atmosphere. They were missing a few things off their menu the day I went but nothing that effected our meal choices.

Waited an hour for our order to arrive. When it arrived my burger and the chips were cold. Not warm, not tepid but cold to the touch. I will not make the same mistake twice.

Visit the spyglass several times a yr for food not had a bad meal or service,. Yes it needs sum tlc to which I've been told is due in the near future. An thats beyond the manager/ staffs control . Large carpark just enter your car reg into system at service desk on entering. As for Dogs personally they should not be in establishements that serve food was always classified unhygienic untill the law changed sumtimes not for the better. wife an myself had breakfast here today food was excellent as always thanks to all the staff. Typical Harvester. You know what you're getting food wise, it's a fair price and fills you up. The Weymouth staff are extremely efficient and very polite and friendly. When the weather is good sitting outside is a must as the views are superb.

Came in for lunch sat in bar area due to having dog with us ordered food at bar when it came the balance bowl was swimming in salad dressing only required drizzling over and the pasta shells some were chewy and some were hard in fact combined with the garlic bread i could have drummed a tune on both. Staff seemed unhappy in their work except the young lady who brought out the food hence why I gave service a 3 that was for her unfortunately the place needs a revamp and to employ a chef not a microwave

Everything was great. Apart from the waitress that showed no interest in her job or us.

The salad bar had lots of empty trays. Food was very slow at coming out after being ordered and all the sauce bottles on the table were empty this needs to be looked at as the table service was great just a shame about the food side which is the most important part of going to a restaurant.

Polite staff. Lovely views of the sea from the garden.

Food was faultless. The building could do with air conditioning. We ended up eating our dinner drenched in sweat.

Booked a table outside. Was not informed that this meant we had to order at the bar- this took ages. We had to get our own cutlery- they ran out of everything but knives and I had to ask twice for forks. Salad did not look fresh or appetising. Average adult meal is around £20 which seems very expensive. Kids did not get colouring or activities to do. I had a voucher to get their meal for £1 but still paid nearly £3 for a fruit shoot. They then forgot about their dessert and after waiting 20 mins I had to go ask and it came out with the ice cream half melted. The view and location is great but everything else was disappointing. Out of the three female toilets 2 were blocked and the only remaining one had no soap.

AVOID! Had a table booked weeks in advance specifically stating it was booked with a dog, upon arrival was told the booking wasn’t with a dog and the table we had been put on wasn’t allowed dogs. After telling staff this is an error on their part as it was definitely booked with a dog we were told the booking was with a dog however there was nothing they could do and we would not be accommodated. The manager himself told us it was our problem we had our dog and his attitude towards us was disgusting. We will definitely be avoiding from now on and taking our business to an actual dog friendly establishment. would put 0 if possible.

Went for lunch, only had a salad plus drinks. On arrival there was a person in front of me using a group on voucher, it took 5 members of staff to sort it out (1 being the assistant manager). Another person arrived and spoke to another staff member, asked for a table and got told ' see her' and pointed to someone else. Sat outside as we had the dog, in a little hut (only shade, as all the shaded tables were reserved) gods knows when it was last cleaned, and the outside was a mess, grass not cut weeds all over the place (some knee high) and to see the sea through the glass fence was a no as the thorn bushes were taller than the glass. The only good thing was the salad bar was well stocked and enjoyed. Would not recommend this place. Didn't take only pictures I should have sorry 😐

After making a booking week s in advance, which we always do several times while down on holiday for a large party with a dog , as said we always do this and we visit several times always stating on booking that we have a dog. To get there for part of the party be seated , waiting for the people with dog to come through. To be told the dog was not on the booking, and it was our problem not theirs, after showing and proving and them then admitting that actually the dog is on the booking , but nothing could be done, then for them to back track to say we will "see if could fit in" but after the attitude , and being told that it was our problem and not their s and no apology an saying they were in the wrong leaves a very very bad taste for us. I would avoid this Harvester at all cost, what is the point of booking weeks in advance as we do year after year for them to argue with us. The attitude absolutely stinks ! If it would have been right ok , yes sorry it is on the booking , it's our fault, we do apologize let's see what we can do. But no they were adament no dog on booking , your fault not ours. Then for them to be proved wrong, find it on there system but still no apology, absolutely stinks. No customer service. Will not return here.

We stopped for Lunch on the way to Weymouth. We both had burgers which we really enjoyed! The Bbq pulled pork was amazing 👏 Jacob who served us was brilliant! He was very attentive and nothing we too much for him. He's a credit to the team!

Everything was fine, however, our order went adrift. Jacob did a good job & went to check what had happened to our food.

Came here for a nieces birthday and the waiter (Jacob) was excellent and went above and beyond to make it a day to remember

Food lovely. Amazing fresh salad bar. Jacob was fantastic, really helpful & friendly. Food came quickly. The only issue, only 1 ladies toilet working and no soap in there. The place needs some TLC, it's looking shabby!

Just had a fantastic meal here. Superb service. Plenty of room to move around, didn't feel hemmed in. Excellent quality. Been here today 7th June for lunch. We cannot fault it. Food was amazing. Lee our waiter was excellent working very hard as he was on his own in the restaurant. Couldn't fault his attention and service. Disappointed visit on 1st Aug. Table booked for 12.30. Admit they did try to contact us to tell us kitchen had problems. Were told it would be half an hour, then 20 mins later to be told another hour so we decided to leave. Lee kindly waived our drinks for the inconvenience.

Lovely meal. Our server was Lee and he is a credit to the team. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was hot and fresh. Plenty of fresh salad and rolls. Good room temperature. Will be back

Staff very friendly and excellent service. Only let down was food over cooked, had the chicken skewers with flat bread. The chicken was dry and peppers were blackened and mushy, flatbread was dry and hard on the edges. Would try again on a different dish.

We had hoped to contact customer services direct before writing a review. We had booked and as it was our first visit we did not specify any requirements. Upon being shown to our table I asked if we could sit in a lighter area, near the windows. I was informed that they were all pre-booked. I don't like being lied to. In the 1.5 hrs we were there not one of the 6 - 10 tables were used. The salad bar was disappointing with empty containers and the remainder being unappealing. We wanted a steak which was unavailable so opted for 2 X combos. Upon serving one was an acceptable size, moist and tender whilst the other serving was small and very dry. Our server Rose was apologetic and made a discount but really by then our evening out had been a disappointment and not what we expect from Harvester which we normally enjoy.

Clearly severely understaffed. The staff were nice and all looked busy but the service and food were slow, and dishes came out at odd intervals - the adults got their mains about 5 minutes before the kids and one dessert arrived a long time before the rest. The drinks machine wasn't working, the salad bar was a bit low on several items and there were lots of uncleared tables. The food was fine, a little overpriced for what we got.

We booked very late on the day. It was extremely busy but all staff were attentive, friendly & welcoming. Food was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. We were celebrating our anniversary but will definitely be back.

The culinary experience was exceptional, however, from a financial perspective, the establishment's pricing structure appears to be rather prohibitive. It is worth noting that the current economic climate has had a significant impact on individuals' financial capabilities. During our visit as a couple, we were provided with a small table situated adjacent to a pillar, which unfortunately resulted in an uncomfortable dining experience due to the proximity of two walkways. Furthermore, the service personnel exhibited a lack of warmth and attentiveness, neglecting to fulfill our beverage order.

The Manager/Landlord gets bonus points for being a Deftones fan, but even beyond that, this was a solid, albeit standard Harvester experience. Everyone got what they ordered, plates were empty, bellies were full. If you want absolute reason to visit here, it's the views out back, of the Weymouth bay. Worth the price of a breakfast alone.

The restaurant was full yet after being seated at our table, we were all feeling cold. Realised both doors to the outside were wide open! It was raining/windy and cold outside so couldn't quite believe the doors were being left open! My husband managed to close the double doors but sadly the single door couldn't be closed as kids were running in and out.... So be aware, take a coat/jumper! Staff were polite but definitely short staffed. I wanted a fresh orange and lemonade... Told it would be lemonade not fresh orange? So declined. Later to realise my husband ordered this and got it no problem? When we went to the salad bar, there were bits of other salad items mixed in with the pineapple, chickpeas, beetroot and potato salad. Very off putting. All of our meals were luke warm/warm. The staff were so busy and hardly seen that we knew if we'd complain we'd be waiting ages so ended up eating them as we were so hungry. I'm not surprised the meals were cold with the temperature being so cold in the actual restaurant area. The food wasn't of great quality. We were over £100 for our meals/drinks and certainly won't be returning. Not worth it.

Very disappointing experience at the spy glass inn. The whole place is incredibly tired and grubby. When we arrived at a quiet period on a Tuesday it was evident that the salad had been out much longer than it should have been with staff frequently walking past but not checking levels or the quality of what was left. Mistakes made on drinks order and the only thing remotely edible for our £72 was a small piece of steak on my dinner. Everything else had been reheated poorly, my daughter cheese burger was rock solid bun included. Chips weren’t even warm let alone hot. To add insult to injury we were plagued by flies the entire time we were eating. In a climate where pubs and restaurants are closing daily more attention needs to be paid here.

Absolutely diabolical, son asked for a steak to be cooked medium to well done with Peppercorn sauce. Well, it turned up like a hard piece of boot with no Peppercorn Sauce anywhere near it, when asked to speak to someone, my son was only offered a free drink or a free pudding, bloody woopedoo. Why can't he be offered a refund? It was bloody £20 but a pudding would be about a fiver, therefore they've still made £15. So anyway we both ordered our puddings and what a bloody mess they were when they arrived, mine had all the cheap cream leaking all down the sides and when my sons came it wasn't what he asked for, and also no cherry (might as well add that in too). We really couldn't be bothered to complain anymore, just learnt never to go there again. Absolutely appalling

Sadly we found the Spyglass really disappointing. I feel the property itself is in desperate need of refurbishment and a good clean. What a shame especially in a holiday town. Everything from the table to the menu was sticky and grubby. The food was ok but not great value for money without discount voucher. Almost £18 for an original combo. Not a nice dining facility, such a dated, tatty setting. Wish I'd taken photos. Staff were polite friendly and helpful. Not the nicest environment for them but they tried really hard to please, though nobody came to see if the food was ok. We were given 2 worn bowls for the unlimited salad cart. I asked if i use the same bowls to return to the cart. A staff member when asked said if i needed another bowl she could get one but yes use same bowl. Maybe offer 2 bowls per person for hygiene reasons. Had to ask for serviettes. Lots of independant pubs would be more deserving of your money with the average meal costing £20 per person + drinks Would definitely not return. Sadly good harvester days are gone. Shame

We had a wonderful lunch at the Spyglass Harvester several days ago. The service was was absolutely amazing! There was a little bit of waiting time, they were very busy on that day, but every minute of waiting was worth it! I guess at this time of the season we all have to wait a little, but that is acceptable. Our meal was very delicious, the desserts looked great and the portions were more then enough! It was a very pleasent experience and we will definately go back in the future!

Went there tonight on the spur of the moment. Fully booked but the women on the desk said we could go into the bar to order which we did. Tables had not been cleared off at all, only when all from dining room had left did they bother to clear the tables. Wish we hadent what a waste of money and time. The free salad was ok the starter was too. We then waited 45 minutes for the main meal I had scampi chips and peas I only had the scampi, chips were cold and peas were not cooked. My husband had the mixed grill again chips cold. Worst meal since being in weymouth. The whole bar was scruffy. An utter waste of hard earned money!!

Booked here for a Birthday Meal 7.30 .. ordered our meals .. eventually arrived at table 1 hr .. everything was stone cold .. did complain and got a small refund. We were not the only people kept waiting .. some were walking out but this was Armed Forces Weekend everything in Weymouyh was fully booked. Would not ho here again.. although have go say man who served us was so apologetic .. also good salad cart once they refuelled it. Very disappointing evening.

Was disappointed to see this pub was now a harvester - used to love it - was a great pub in its day ! was surprised that the garden outside was really scruffy and unloved - grass was in desperate need of a mow - tables needed a good clean - did not stay long -

I'm afraid Wife's birthday ruined! Numerous tables not cleared, no cutlery or knapkins, salad bar disgraceful - only around a third with anything on offer, some of those almost empty! When food did appear was lukewarm at best, even the chips failed, jacket potato was unmentionable- cost £45, NOT worth £5. Sorry Harvester you need to do a lot beter

Lovely place for a bite to eat.Team coach Terry was impeccable. Great service by him and joined in with our conversations when at our table, had a laugh with us and made us all feel very comfortable. Only fault I could pick up was probably refreshing the salad cart as it was sparce and a bit limp.

Overall good attentative service. Food ok but served a little on cold side.

Very disappointed with service here on Tuesday 4th June 2024. We had to wait almost 10 minutes for a member of staff to show us to our table. Order for food and drink took nearly 15 minutes. We ordered a jug of water but just got given 2 glass full which took 50 minutes to be delivered to our table after asking what had happened to our drinks. Was then given salad bowls after over an hour only to discover how appalling the state it was in. It was dirty and hardly anything available also no onion bits and sauces were empty. Never ever have we been into a harvester to have to wait so long for service and gone to get salad where it was almost to the point of being empty.

My food just warm my wife's chicken stone cold felt like came out of a fridge. Did say to staff but didn't come back to us, did say when paying but where told we should have said at the time which we had. Been going for years always lovely food, but never going back again

Not my best experience in a Harvester. They were desperately short of staff. Salad bar was a 0 out of 5. Food took ages to come out. They didn't give us warnings on wait times, which would have been a polite thing to do.
