Great coffee just very poor service. I’ve been twice to the Plymouth cafe and had horrendous waits for food and coffee. Called in there this morning to be told there was a 20 minute wait, just for two takeaway cappuccinos, which is absurd. Probably won’t bother going there again now, which is a shame because I really do like the coffee.

Woman who answered the phone needs hearing aids I had to repeat my address twice my number twice and my card details twice my order 3 times and she somehow still got it wrong I ordered 2 rice and instead received 2 pots of sweet and sour sauce that has the consistency of water chips tasted like they were microwaved chicken balls were quite clearly made in a rush awful experience not worth £35

Bought a large Cornish pasty yesterday to eat later. When I started to eat it I realised that all the veg was half cooked. I'll be returning today to get a replacement. This is not the first time I've been unhappy with the quality. The usual problem is that the pastry is too thick. Usually the pasties are good quality.

Opening times are shown closing at 4pm, thought we could grab a quick coffee at 3.50pm to be met at the door by staff who were closing up and refused to serve us coffees. Quick coffees are not a speciality of this place, previous visits have had long waits for a coffee and cake but the views into Plymouth Sound are amazing. You can only pay by card for some unexplained reason. The coffee is good though but would go elsewhere normally.

Wouldn’t eat in but always order our take away from here. Food hot when delivered. Tried various dishes from menu all were great. Definitely recommend !

Went at lunch time ordered fish n chips twice. It used to be brilliant so what the heck has happened, the fish was swimming in grease and uncooked batter, the chips tasted like they were warmed up. We felt so sick we threw them away. Steer clear and go to Brixton where we usually go now.

Best carvery in Plymouth no doubt about it. The meat is always so soft and tender, hardly any fat on the beef and get plenty of it. There’s a huge selection of veg, more than you can think of. There’s kitchen staff seem nice enough but some of the bar staff/waiters are so miserable and seem like they cannot be bothered to serve you. You need to book to avoid disappointment or you may have a very long wait for a table
