Rang for order of good for 6.30 person on the phone taking orders didn’t have a clue delivery of food for 6.30pm arrived an hour early sent it away as my friends weren’t arriving until 6.30 meal then delivered again at 6.30 the meal was absolutely terrible shall not be ordering fro here again

Nice Chinese food from here, service was quite quick and the girl on the counter was really efficient and friendly.

First time ordering here. The food was delivered quick, was all hot, fresh and full of flavour! Big portions too. Delicious!

We use this takeaway regularly and always say how great it is. Tonight the food was dreadful, a king prawn curry that was not a curry just a salty horrible sauce and the Silver Dragon special was awful too. So disappointed given how much we paid. Won't be going again.

Stopped by to get a takeout for valentine's, enjoyed the best Chinese in Plymouth while sat in the car park. Peking set meal for 2 is an absolute banger Went back again for another valentine's takeout, just as good as last time. Strongly recommend the special chow mein and the satay skewers

Ordered crispy aromatic duck but they forgot the sauce so they were very dry. The duck was tough as well.

Been going to Silver Dragon for years and used to be pretty good but not been impressed the last few times we've used them. On a recent order, the noodles were badly burnt but still served. No excuses for that. Found all dishes to be too sweet and gloopy. Quality of the meat is also poor. Won't be using again until standards have improved.

Rubbish, wasted 40 mins waiting for three dishes to be told we would have to wait another 10 minutes when I asked where our food was. No prior warning of delay. Had a refund but won’t bother again even though we’ve been regulars. Edit - stupidly been back since and to stupid t**ts didn’t put a dish in the bag, had to return to the place to get a refund. Avoid avoid avoid.

Absolutely shocking customer service. Waited over 2 hours then our food turned up cold, one of the mains was the incorrect order, when asking to speak to the management we were told no they were too busy. When asked for replaced hot food we were told no, sorry, nothing they could do. Absolutely gutted having used the Silver Dragon for 10+ years we will not be returning. What a waste of money.

Sorely disappointed, cold chips, cold rice, wrong meals arrived. I called to discuss and the staff I talked to was very unpleasant, no remedy offered. My family have been eating here for several years, no more.

Ordered the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and found a long black hair while dishing up the food onto my plate. Rang to tell them what I had found and their response was that no one in the kitchen had long black hair. I have platinum blonde hair while my children have red hair. I am feeling very dissapointed and annoyed by their lack of responsibility which is disappointing as I have been ordering from this chinese for 10+ years. I definitely won't be ordering from here ever again.

Always had good foor from here however that experience changed yesterday! I like spicy food; never had a problem and last night fancied something a bit lively, fine, what I got would bring the dead back to life, I could'nt manage half of it, It had so many chillies in it it was maddness, colourful I'll give you that!!! I know folk who can eat hot food but they'd struggle it that was crazy, no taste just pure fire, yes it had a 3 chilli rating should have been 6. This is not a complaint just a heads up for those who fancy it!!! The dish was 'Spicy Roast Pork' Be carefull!!!

Excellent food, good service and quick

Go elsewhere. We ordered by phone and drove about 10 minutes to collect our order. When we got home and dished it out, some of our order was missing. Called back up to let them know to be told I'd have to drive back to collect the missing dishes or I'd have to wait 45 minutes until the driver got back. Either way our food went cold. Poor service, won't be returning.

Totally disappointed! We use to leave in Plymstock 20 years ago and this was the best place. Returning all these years later and was staying in Stoke and drove 15 minutes specifically for Silver Dragon. We arrived back at our digs and it took them 15 minutes to contact me to let me know they had forgotten to put in half our order. Manager/driver refused to deliver them to us as it was their mistake. We ended up with a refund for half of the order leaving us with only the rice. Kings Chinese in Stoke saved the day and made us some chicken balls to go with our rice. We should have saved ourselves the trip. Poor service 😢

Worst Chinese I've ever had. Should've been chicken chow mein, but was nothing like any I've ever had before. Was more like pale slimy boiled chicken and veg with dry noodles. It ended up in the bin as was vile. Don't recommend at all & definitely won't be using again.

Worst Chinese takeaway I've ever gone to. Would not recommend. Layer of unknown slime on top, looked like boiled chicken, noodles were vile. Would not even feed to a dog. Ended up in the bin where it belongs. Won't be returning and would encourage people to go elsewhere for a normal Chinese.

Well our chinese takeaway tonight was very good. Food was hot, tasty and friendly service. I dont understand the really bad reviews as i am very fussy and always enjoy my food from here.

I have eaten food at or from Chinese restaurants in various parts of the world including the US and Hong Kong but I have never tasted anything quite like my takeaway from the establishment. I ate because I was hungry but it really should have gone in the bin. I did not realise that Chinese food could be like this.

avoid this Chinese takeaway at all costs spent 29.00 for my sons bithday meal as this takeaway was highly recommended!!!! From making the order having to repeat order my son who’s birthday it was went to collect Chinese 6 miles away from where we live . The order was late on collecting cold on opening food was appalling The crispy chilli beef was so rock hard my son nearly broke his teeth on it . Also the chicken balls were full of grease and chicken and black bean sauce the chicken was full of gristle and bone !!! I rang up to speak to the manager she was so rude to me calling me a liar I spoke to another manager he was even worse the food was so disgusting I have taken the food to environmental health for them to have a look as this food as it has bone and gristle in it as this Chinese needs to be investigated silver dragon plymstock Environment health need to investigate this Chinese and there cleanliness they leave the back door of shop when they are cooking there are flies in and out constantly

Phoned this evening to order 3 separate orders for the same delivery address due to how we needed to pay for it! From the off the guy on the phone was rude and ignorant and even went as far as moaning about our order to a colleague while still on the phone! Very unprofessional, asked for receipts to be included to due to needing to process them and they weren’t provided! £120 worth of food so not as if they weren’t getting anything out of us ordering three separate orders. will not be ordering from silver dragon again! Customer service absolutely awful other then the delivery driver who we cannot fault at all the best part about the order was how polite the driver was compared to other staff.

Have used them for a long time now and the food is always very good and the service is great.

An old local favourite of ours. We’ll occasionally try a new Chinese takeaway that may pop up in the area but always come back. Food alway hot, well cooked and tasty and the service has always been prompt (order over the phone and pick up)

They do a nice beef &green pepper black bean sauce

Called in here as we were on holiday and Bovisand and not disappointed. Sweet and sour chicken excellent as was beef fried rice!

DONT BOTHER ORDERING!! Ordered delivery at 6.05- told an hour…. At 7:30 called to ask where our order was… “it hasn’t left and will be about another hour or so”… Chap said only 1 driver on shift- Ridiculous- Wish I had read the reviews here first!! Really rubbish!!

Stay away. We thought we would try a different takeaway and live close so thought we would give it a go and order a delivery for my dad's birthday. Paid £30, some of our boxes were only 1/2 full. Paid for 2 bags of prawn crackers, we were only given half of 1 bag. More expensive than our regular go to. Will not be using this place again, and suggest you order with extreme caution.

We have tried alot of Chinese take aways in Plymouth and this place is by far the best we have ordered. We are now regular customers and wouldn't order from anywhere else! The people that work there and deliver are also so nice, professional and friendly! 5 stars from us!

I came here as I’m new to the area and ordered 5 different items off of the menu. Waited for around 10 minutes which was a fair time to wait but the guy on the desk/till was clearly in a world of his own and couldn’t wait to get back on his phone instead of taking 2 minutes to serve me. Food came and the guy from the kitchen rattled off everything I ordered and said it was in the bag. He kept it on the other side of the counter and it was in a white bag so I couldn’t confirm but as he had it open and looked in, I believed it was all there. I got home to find one one item (tub of rice) was missing which annoyed me considering he ran through what I ordered. The food was quite poor to be honest and my wife said it was terrible, leaving most of her meal for the bin. If I wasn’t so hungry, I’d have done the same. Plenty of other above average and excellent Chinese takeaways in the area or at least willing to deliver to you from outside it that it’s not worth ordering from Silver Dragon.

Always use silver Dragon and cant fault their service or food. The delivery is always within 30 minutes which is amazing these days. Never had a problem with anything ordered and the staff are efficient, polite and helpful. A No Fuss Chinese takeaway!

We have recently moved to the area so were looking for a new local Chinese takeaway. We have always see lots of people using it when driving past but when looking at the reviews online before deciding where to go they weren’t great. But we decided to give it a go anyway and we are very glad we did, IGNORE ALL BAD REVIEWS! This takeaway was great, the food was lovely and the staff polite and friendly, and the chow mein especially was lovely! Highly recommend and very happy to have it as our new local!

I have been visiting this takeaway for many many years and always enjoyed the level of service and the quality of food. But never again . It has changed dramatically and not only has the quality of the food deteriorated but they just could not care about you as a customer. They promise a collection time and never ever keep to it. The takeaway has no leadership or organisation. They give you a time and when you go and collect you are kept waiting for 45 mins. Priority is given to those who just walk in whilst an order for over £35.00 becomes a lesser priority. What planet do they think they are on. Customer service and their ability to be honest and tell the truth to a customer is not part of their business ethos. I have been amazingly loyal but enough is enough. I will never use this take again. They can keep me waiting once ,twice three times, but never again.. I will not and would not recommend anyone one to buy from them. Just do not waste your money and equalily as important, your time.

Silver Dragon thank you very much, this is our every friday treat and it never dissapoints. We live very close to another chinese and have tried others around the Plymstock area but this establishment by far is our favourite. Hats off we havent had a bad one yet, the crispy dumplings are definetly worth a chomp.

Only writing this as there appears to be quite a few negative reviews on this place. We have had meals from this Take-Out many times over the past 6-7 years. There has only been one single time years ago that we had a meal that was rather tasteless but that was a one-off and since then we have enjoyed dozens of meals. The most recent was just this week and the food was plentiful, hot and tasty. I particularly like the pancake rolls as they are never greasy, just delicious. Our opinion is that we haven't found a better take-away in this locality and we will continue to use The Silver Dragon.

Ordered Chinese at 5:30 for 7:30 delivery. It’s now 9 o’clock and despite being told it was on its way when we rang an hour ago, it’s still not here!!

DO NOT USE SILVER DRAGON OF PLYMSTOCK. Terrible customer service! Made a telephone order 17 Jun 18 at 1845, with home delivery, & paid for it at the same time. Person told us the order would be ready in 1hr 30min because they were busy. After 1hr 30min no delivery had been made so called again & delivery driver answered saying the order was not ready but should be 20min. After a further 20min we called yet again as delivery had not been made only to be told they were still busy and did not know what time delivery would be. Repeatedly asked to speak to the manager but told they were busy so asked for a card refund but this could not be done as the person didnt know how to do it. Asked for the manager to call us but unable to tell us when this might be. Utterly unprofessional and extremely poor customer service that walk ins take priority over telephone orders. Over 2hrs after cancelling the order they called to confirm cancellation.

Meal was one of the nicest Chinese meals we have tasted- large portions-nicely cooked. When placing order the order a pick up time was given and only had to wait about 5 minutes to collect. If we are in this part of the country again will defo revisit!

Sat here writing this as I am waiting for my food on ordering a few simple dishes and waiting an hour and 15 minutes I was told it would be 45 to an hour I have rang and was told it would be another 20 minutes I personally have always had a good service but am disgusted that it has taken this long I will be ordering else we’re from now on just an update before posting sat here now after being told it will be twenty minutes and still waiting just to update it has now been delivered placed order at 5 32 it arrived at 7 16 no apology no nothing terrible and food is cold not even free prawn crackers please avoid

Not very good delivery service ordered at 6.55pm our food didn't actually arrive till 9.00pm. I phoned twice said on way. When I arrived chips were cold. Phoned to complain or they could say sorry we are busy and the other person who taken you order is gone home no help to me 2 tried hungry kids. Not a offer of money off bad customer service.

Sunday - Called as soon as they opened. Small order for 3 people living in Plymstock. Waited just under 2 hours for our food to arrive luke warm and they forgot the prawn crackers.

After trying a few Chinese takeaways from the plymstock area. This has to be my favorite. The meals are always piping hot and with a taste to die for. And the best part is I normally never have to wait any more than 30 mins for my meal to arrive.

Don't bother, this place used to be ok though dropped a hell of a lot. Decided on a late night meal, stopped off ordered and waited. Finally got the food after waiting ages (being the only customer I thought it odd) Got home and checked the order found bits missing and called them. Got an irritated sounding bloke who basically said "we'll run it out where are you?" After spelling out where I lived they sent the poor delivery boy in the complete opposite direction. Had enough returned and got a refund but checked the food they did get right and as well as looking terrible it tasted horrible. Seriously don't bother far better ones out there and not to mention cheaper

Awful customer service.When the food arrived there were dishes missing I phoned to ask where the remaining food was and was verbally abused by a lady that accused me of not putting the order in properly in the first place, she was the Manageress. My husband had ordered and I was sat next to him at the time, he repeated the order to confirm it was right. I became so upset by the attitude of the lady I spoke to that I asked for a refund and gave the food back.Dreadful service,She hung up on me twice and offered no explanation or apology. Avoid there are better more deserving places to spend your well earned cash. Silver Dragon used to be a family business but the new owners and the Manageress leave a lot to be desired.
