Disappointed. We went for a family breakfast on a Sunday morning, the hot drinks were brought out way before the food but maybe this should have been stipulated by us but I would have preferred that we were asked. We ordered two regular breakfasts and one full English, I was told later that they didn't have any black pudding for the full English to which the waitress apologised I asked if I could have extra sausage (after all I have paid for it) to be told they didn't have that either (maybe a complementary cup of coffee or a discount on the breakfast would have gone down well here?) When the breakfasts were brought to the table the waitress didn't know the difference between the regular and the full English and to make matters worse we weren't supplied with any cutlery, After sitting for a few minutes like lemons in front of full plates my wife had to get up and ask for it and then sit and wait again until it arrived. These are basics which can turn a simple breakfast into an unenjoyable experience. Regarding the food it was typical English breakfast of cold toast, anemic bacon and burnt sausage but by this time we were ravenous and just ate and left. What a shame for such a lovely pub

Amazing food. Beautifully cooked and presented. We had crab with runners beans to start and one pork and one sea bass as main. Chocolate mousse as dessert. Open kitchen and they cook on a barbecue. We may try to sit at the bar next time to see how it's done.

Stumbled across Golant following an aborted trip to Fowey. Delightful find and kudos to the chef for accommodating a difficult combination of food allergies at short notice.

Stayed 3 nights. Excellent. Lovely staff, great service. Good food, super comfy room. Wonderful location. Will return.

Monday only me in the bakery purchased pk saffron buns l had to get buns from shop window ,put buns into paper bag. The girl seamed not interested in her job.asked about the tasted of the saffron in the buns. Her reply she did not eat them.shirly she should know about the products she sell. I will not go back.

This is traditional fudge - crumbly with a good selection of flavours and we stood watching while chocolate orange fudge was being made which was nice to see….. it’s not the cheapest but you get what you pay for…. Traditional which comes at a cost and made on the premises.

2 stars because beer was good. -3stars because food and service awful. Seafood chowder watery and obviously made with frozen bag of prawns and cod. Tasted like a thin soup. Partners fish n chips...the fish undercooked and slimy. But perhaps worst was the absolute lack of interest from the lady behind the bar...shocking service. No wonder the place was empty. Avoid.

Great place to stop for a beer after a long walk.

Stayed in The Safe Harbour many times over the years. Always receive a friendly welcome from Graham & Gill. Fantastic breakfast set you up for the day, Wonderful rooms with fantastic views of the river. Greta location for exploring Fowey and other parts of Cornwall.

Very welcoming and helpful staff, the guys behind the bar couldn’t have been more professional and helpful. Very clean facilities, as a visiting sailor you couldn’t ask for more, we’ll definitely be back. Thanks guys, until next time….

Went down for dinner on the evening we arrived. As we were the only people dining at the time we were given a choice of tables. Drinks order was taken promptly while we chose from a fairly extensive menu. Drinks promptly arrived and food order was taken, but there was then a twenty minute wait before the food arrived. The food was only just about average, given the price of the courses I truly expected better. The fish and chips was not freshly prepared with the batter being hard not crispy, the fish itself was over cooked, it had obviously been kept in an oven after being cooked. the sausage in the toad in the hole was not of any high quality with a lot of rusk in the filling. Breakfast the next morning was acceptable, again the sausages were not the best. I feel that this could and should be addressed as the quality of ingredients is a lot lower than the prices applied to meals The restaurant staff were helpful and polite in general but I do not enjoy being referred to as “ my darling” by the person waiting on at breakfast, in an hotel of this stature I would expect sir and madam to be a better choice of address.

Decided to try here for lunch. What a lovely find, opted for 2 small plates. Delicious food, well presented & lovely service too. Pub has recently been upgraded. Would highly recommend.
