Purchased Cornish pasties and some cakes, only takeaway service here. Friendly service and the Cornish Pasties were probably the best I have tasted for a very very long time. The flaky pastry was crisp and light and almost melted in the mouth. The filling was very full and very tasty.

An awesomely tasty pastie! When I visited it was staffed by an incredibly efficient woman who was taking orders, serving, organising and despatching like an octopus on a mission! Not a moment wasted dealing with a vast queue of weeked customers. I don't know what they pay her, but it's not enough! She was "assisted" by two young lads, one who just about seemed able to operate the till with only occasional pauses to let the cogs in his head get up to speed and a second who seemed to be under the impression that the oven that was warming the next batch would only operate if he stood there holding the door handle.

I bought Niles Bakery's bacon foldover pastie today at their Fowey outlet. Only one way to describe it, "disgusting". The dough was half-cooked, the inside was sloppy, it tasted too salty and it was very oily. The oil and liquid in the pastie dripped on my shirt. I couldn't finish eating this disgusting food and had to bin the rest. Truly sickening.

I visited Nile's Bakery tea shop with two little tables in Fowey last week with my sister and husband for two cream teas, one for them to share and one for me. The man promptly snatched back my pot of cream saying one pot was plenty between three people. I couldn't believe it. They couldn't have done that if I had been a separate customer. He also charged for the mugs of teas as extra. I have never had a cream tea before where you have to pay extra for the tea. When my brother in law complained about the high bill of £18 for 2 cream teas priced at £6 each the man deducted the cost of one tea. This didn't make up for their off hand rude service and our disappointment of having such a poor experience in such a beautiful town.

We were really glad we chose Niles as both the staff that served us were lovely and friendly and best of all the pastie was so delicious. It really tasted homemade and was so fresh. I chose a chelsea bun as they are a favourite, the type with icing on. It was the best chelsea bun I have ever had. It was melt in mouth fresh. The "mega" breakfast didn't include tea. The staff were confused. The produce, I suspect, was good before being cooked. Limp watery bacon was on the plate, as were rather damp, foamy sausages. This was when we finally got our food half an hour after ordering via having somebody else's meal delivered to the our table in the meantime. All rather slapdash and expensive, £3.60 for a bacon sandwich/roll? I cannot recommend on any level really.

white loaf was really good, made good sandwiches and toast the next day.But Lord knows what they do with their cakes.I tried a custard doughnut, usually the custard is piped into the middle and of a thick consistency, not in this case it was sliced in half with a runny watery custard and a really awful icing on top of one side of doughnut.Never again. My partner had a jam doughnut that looked cooked within an inch of its life crispy and crunchy, covered in about 3 tablespoons of sugar. The staff where friendly enough but seemed a bit fed up .I have rated this average for the cakes, however the bread would rate at very good .

We visited this bakers on a Friday afternoon around 2.30pm, we wanted a cup of tea and piece of cake seems simple enough. We were a little confused as there were two shops that seemed to be one. We were told we could pick a cake from the left hand shop but drink our tea in the right hand shop as they were both the same owner. One was normal cake shop one was cafe fairly simple you would have thought but when I went to pay it was nearly £6.00 for an Eccles cake, a Chelsea bun (with virtually no fruit) and two teas We queried the price only to be told that's the deal. We asked what deal,? we don't want a deal, we just want the cakes separately and the tea separately? No that was the deal no other offer. As there was no where else open we paid up but just made a note never to use this Baker's shop again. We were then made to feel quite uncomfortable as the staff started to shut the shop up around us including lowering the blinds on half the shop window in the bit we were sitting. Perhaps we should have been given an alternative of paying for the items separately and not treated quite so badly. Customers may not always be right but we are still customers.

Had a lovely meal,Rump Steak& Croft Burger, then sweets to finish. Great food and service. Shame the weather wasn't a little better as we would have sat outside after our meal.

We were on holiday and ended up eating here 3 times. We had our dog who typically was nervous in eating places so we never bothered eating out, we were given a table in the corner and asked for the same one every time which they obliged as she was settled, it helped that the staff were all so helpful and the food was so nice, would highly recommend the Pityme Inn and we will visit again, it made our holiday
