Very impressed with the quality of the curry, chicken and ingredients. Bengal Masala was full of flavour and spice. Hindustani chicken also very good. I eat a lot of curry from birm etc and would thoroughly recommend Indian Ocean Tip get a takeaway menu and phone up to order your. You will pay much less than on line.

Food was stunning, only gave 4 stars as the food was stone cold when it arrived, Other than that very tasty once heated up!

Ordered delivery for 7.30pm it arrived at 5.30pm. Wasn't particularly hungry. Driver commented "I was just given the bag". Not particularly impressed hope it microwaves later. 2nd time this has happened there won't be a 3rd.

First visit even though we drive past almost every week. Lovely and clean. Good service. We placed a large order and we did wait but we were kept informed of the wait. Staff were lovely and very courteous. Good prices and extensive menu. They were training new staff which is hard to do here in Cornwall as good staff are hard to come by so patience is needed. Will definitely visit again.

I have been both dining with Indian Ocean and having regular take aways for the past 5 years. After a visit on the Saturday evening just gone, I will never use them again. We arrived approximately 7pm on bank holiday Saturday, understandably this is a busy time for any company in Cornwall during the the 6 weeks holiday, however we were not informed of any delay in the kitchen. It took around 20 mins to even order tap water, a diet coke and poppadoms for the table. Eventually when our order was taken, we specifically requested a dish to be mild, I'd like to also add this would have been a good time to mention any kitchen delays. It took over 1.45hrs to receive our food, with absolutely no apology for the wait, despite tables around us also waiting, I appreciate there's take aways being made, but only 7 seated tables in the restaurant. The dish requested to be made mild, was infact, not. I asked for it to be sent back and some cream to be added, though acting like it was inconvenient this was done and I received my food back about 10 minutes later. (Still too spicy to eat) The meal was thoroughly unenjoyable, due to the long wait, the atmosphere in the whole place, one male member of staff was very polite and did come over and check everything was ok. Upon finishing and not recieving any form of eye contact let alone more, we decided enough was enough and to head to the bar to pay. We mentioned that we'd had an awfully long wait for unsatisfactory food and was there anything that could be done, still no apology but met with a smirk and the comment 'it's a weekend everyone is waiting' from the waitress we believe to be Masima(?) Completely unexpectable, I myself work in hospitality and without question it should be mentioned upon seating the customers that due to a high amount of orders there will be a delay, also an apology, not to mention some sort of compensation to a clearly unhappy customer, after some very dismissive attitude we were given 10% off the bill, a total of about £4.80. Absolutely shocking considering the treatment from the female waitress. I don't normally write bad reviews as I understand that sometimes establishments can have off days, but this was our second visit where we felt this particular member of staff wasnt particularly empathetic or welcoming. Very much a shame for us as this is our 'go to' take away, but our experience was truly that bad we don't ever wish to give business again.

Fitted us in at short notice. The staff were so friendly and the food was excellent. Great value. Highly recommended.

Second visit recently, first was good, second... Not so good, the food was sub-par, over done with mint and bay-leaves... and we learned there is no dessert menu... I mean really ?? No desserts ? Sad to say we were unimpressed and will give it a miss next time.

We had a take away, the food arrived in good time and it was hot. But unfortunately it lacked any flavour, both curries were very bland and watery, the chips were soggy. However the mushroom rice was lovely.

A really nice curry in a lovely local curry house. If you are in the area and fancy a curry, I would happily recommend.

A strange place. Has lots of positive reviews over the last few years, but I think things aren't as good as they used to be. The food was okay, standard no-frills (or thrills) english curries and such, underseasoned and boring as you'd expect. The manager had a very strange demeanor. He was kind of following the server around and standing a couple metres behind her while she was taking our order, but not close enough to interact with the table, just watching her from 9 feet away. The place was mostly empty so he stood out. They messed up our order (even though it was repeated to us correctly after we ordered) but they did remake the dish and give us a free rice, so fair enough. There has gotta be a better way to spend £70.

Have never been to this place before, but will definitely be going again. We had a meal for two which hubby collected, the food was still nice and hot when we got it back. It tasted absolutely delicious and there was plenty. Well worth a visit, can’t fault it at all. Thank you Indian Ocean that was a real treat

Dined in with friends. Restaurant is clean and bright and the staff friendly and helpful. The owner/manager was especially attentive as they were busy with takeaway orders and so he apologised that table service might be slow. Myself and my friends did not think that was the case. The service was not rushed (in other places you've barely finished your starter before you get your main) and the food was lovely. Nice selection of dishes on the menu and they were more than happy to prepare a side dish as a starter. Food is fresh tasting and nicely presented. It was a relaxing evening and we will definitely return or use their takeaway service in the future.

Ordered food at 7pm lady on the phone was distressed with arguments happening in the background were told a 45 minute wait however to phone if it was over 1.5hrs. Fast forward to nearly 10pm no delivery in sight, told several times food was on its way. Now starving and hangry

Sadly, I think we're done with this place. At least for a few years, or until there is some kind of big change. When it first opened the food and service were brilliant - couldn't fault it. The food is still decent... not quite as good as it used to be. But sadly the bad experiences have become too much. We had a dreadful experience a few years ago when the food just did not turn up (delivery). We weren't warned about a long wait, were lied to several times that the delivery was 'on it's way', and eventually found out that the food hadn't even left the restaurant after the time when they stop taking orders. So nearly three hours later (starving hungry and late at night), we got a refund. After a couple of years' break, we braved it again. We had a few less-than-great experiences, but kept giving it the benefit of the doubt. But then a couple of weeks ago, it happened again. The food turned up lukewarm after 2 and a quarter hours... excuses from the poor people on the phone and the delivery driver, but no apology from the management. We have also heard of lots of other similar bad experiences, and it looks like there's a few in the reviews here! There is clearly something wrong with the management, especially of delivery orders, that the owners are either unwilling or unable to fix. The trust has gone. So sadly, we'll be taking our custom back to Eastern Paradise. If we hear of some kind of change of management, or have some other reason to believe the problems are over, we may return in a couple of years. But my hopes aren't high.

Great quality food - and lovely staff.

Sadly although friendly good service I got horrendous food poisoning and have been in bed for 2 days. The curry did seem a bit watery and lacked flavour. Feel dreadful!

One of the best food experiences I've had in Cornwall, the service was excellent, the young man serving us was very attentive, very polite and extremely efficient, the food (chicken takeaway starters, King Prawn Dopiaza and Chicken Korai) was beautiful, it came out hot and fresh, it was a Monday night and it was quite busy, the cost was reasonable, one tiny minus, it was cold in there, maybe think about getting a wood burner or better central heating, but that did not detract from the whole experience, we will definitely be going back..Well done Indian Ocean Restaurant..

We have happily had takeaway here over the years. Last one was late and wrong but we gave the benefit of the doubt. Won't be doing that again. We ordered a takeaway and waited 2 hours, phoning multiple times during this time to chase. Ordered at 7pm by 9pm we had had enough. Called to cancel and get a refund. Only to have the chap try and fob us off with fresh food next time and 'something special' and then told he doesn't know how to do refunds, oh actually someone will do it soon as it was an online order. Update* 2 days later we are still awaiting our refund! The owner promised a call today to refund it has not happened. I feel all should be aware of this as this is an appalling way to run a business. I have never experienced anything as dodgy as this before. We will have no choice other than to report this to the relevant authorities and the bank if this is not resolved today.

Usually order online but encourage anyone to drop in to the restaurant as we did today. Food was a step up in quality, naan, rice and currys were much better fresh and staff were lovely.

Honestly outstanding waited 40 mins for chips and the staff are all rude

Waited 1.5 hours for a collection with all three staff just saying it’ll be 2 minutes after about 40 min. Got home and the order is wrong… shock horror… The food is bland at best. Plastic containers sunk in like it was sitting under the lights for an eternity. Rice over cooked and in one giant lump. Honestly go somewhere else for an Indian as it can’t get much worse than this

Visited here out of the summer tourist season so it didn't surprise me that there were plenty of tables free. Judging by the size of the car park I can imagine this is a very popular place to get a meal. The food was tasty and came out promptly. The naan bread was cooked to perfection.

We had lovely meal here last night well recommended, very reasonably priced for a sit in meal. Very polite well mannered staff. The food was piping hot when it came to the table, all in all very good we will be back at those prices 🙂

What a fantastic restaurant.. The service was excellent. Waiters were super friendly and the boss was lovely. He could hear my partner is from London originally and he spends time there too so they chatted on. Getting round to the food omg it was delicious, best Indian I have tasted for a very long time. Partner had madras and was very impressed. The boss chose something for me . I can't remember what it was called but it had lamb in it and was spicy but not too spicy. It was gorgeous. Portion sizes were large but not oversized. Will certainly go back there again. Its not over priced either.

Very nice Indian restaurant. Usually quite quiet. Place is always spotless. Food is very good. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Eat-in pricing is middle of the road, but takeaway is rather expensive. If you have the time, eat in, it won't cost a lot more than taking away.

I cannot express how dissatisfied and disappointed my experience at Indian Ocean was. After reading some promising reviews online, I decided to give it a try and even booked a table in advance. However, from the moment my party and I stepped in, chaos ensued. The staff appeared completely disorganized, leaving us unsure of what was happening. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were not escorted to our table but rather instructed to "go sit over there." To make matters worse, the menu was incredibly difficult to read with orange text on a black background, and it contained numerous spelling mistakes. The pricing was exorbitant, especially when compared to similar restaurants in the area. The service was far from satisfactory; our table requests were ignored, and the staff seemed to be wandering around aimlessly, creating a sense of disarray. To add to the disappointment, the food was lackluster right from the start. Bringing a can of coke to the table and then charging over £1 for it felt like a blatant rip-off. As for the dishes, they were bland and completely tasteless. In summary, my experience at Indian Ocean was nothing short of a disaster. I would strongly advise against dining here, as the overall atmosphere, service, and food quality left much to be desired.

What has happened to the food?! We are locals and have always loved the food here but since the new chef started our last two takeaways have been terrible. The chicken dansak was tasteless, no sweetness to it and just like mush from a jar. Really disappointing! Please get the food back to what it was!

By far the best Indian food in the area for myself and family ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ always welcomed with a smile and great service, this place is reasonably priced with plenty of free parking. Highly recommended 🙌

What a fantastic place! Malik is amazing as are all the staff! Travelled down from London and the food and service was fantastic! The chef cooked as an off menu dish- and it was divine! They make you feel special and treat you with phenomenal food. I will travel here again for that grilled fish (not on the menu). Well worth a visit and very reasonably priced.

Not the most appealing building but loads of parking. Inside is very different. Very clean and modern with a lot of tables. Reception is very friendly and helpful. Our order did not take very long to prepare and we were given complimentary papadoms and pickles which was appreciated. While we waited we had a drink and again were given an extra one to share. All meals we chose were very good and ample. Service was excellent It was very quiet when we visited so can not comment on busier times but expect the service would still be very good

This used to be our go to, but unfortunately on our last two visits it's been really bad. We put it down as a one off, but just had another takeaway and it's just as bad as last time... Bhaji's are rock hard, and the masala sauce has been watered down so much that you can see it's separated from just tilting the plate. Really upset I've just wasted money on this. Would rather pay more for better quality.

Food is great, but their website doesn’t work, they’re on Just Eat and only bother to accept orders when they feel like it. We’ve had multiple orders cancelled after a period of time, including pre-orders and orders for collection. Ordered one time and rang up 2 hours later asking where it was. They didn’t even know if the order had been sent out or not. I would suggest avoiding ordering online. Real shame because the food is great.

Really nice curry, best Lamb saag we have had in a long time, also had a lamb madras which wasn’t spicy but still tasted great. Friendly delivery service.

It is a very clean and well-maintained restaurant. I stopped by while visiting Eden Project and it was really friendly and delicious.

This was our worst experience! On time but food was nothing like usual. Curry missing which was delivered 15 min later but the tub was not even half full. Had to reheat food and grill nans but it was so dry! We order from here all the time but food was not on par tonight so put us off ordering again! Proper disappointed 😢

Don’t want to give 1 star rude customer service we are group of 12 people and after we order food they said this is not enough order for group of 12 and misbehaved with ladies and they said can’t serve you with that’s order, so never recommend this place to anyone.

On holiday in Lanlivery and read good reviews.Unfortunately unable to experience the food here.called at the restaurant on Tuesday but closed. Tried again on wednesday and saw a notice on the door saying,open on Thursday 13th July. Visited again on Thursday, still closed. Just phoned again,Friday. No answer. In all telephoned in excess of 10 times. No answer,not even a voicemail. Certainly not a professional approach to running a business

Ordered a takeaway we had 4 poppadoms, a Dhansak chicken, and chicken tikka main course, the chicken was all in strips dry and tough and very bland probably the worst Indian meal we’ve ever had!!! please you have to improve £26 not good value for money!!

Went here for our valentine's meal.. was a drive to get there but food more than made up for it.. restaurant was obviously busy so food took a while but was a nice relaxed atmosphere so wasn't a problem.. food was lovely and service was relaxed and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.. would definitely recommend and come back if we were visiting the area again..

Ordered a take away, had 2 chicken kormas and they were horrendous. Tasted like watered down sauce. Food was hot, but could of bought a microwave korma from supermarket better.

My family were on holiday last week , 11 of us staying in two chalets. We ordered food to be delivered. Everyone one of us ( from various parts of UK and USA) agreed every dish was amazing. The delivery was first class they kept us informed when leaving to deliver and arrived on time. Well done to this restaurant, they must be one of very few restaurants to get it right. Even got all of our dishes correct . We all wish this restaurant was in our home areas. Well done we will be back in a few months and you are our no1.

Beautiful meal was so lovely to have a meal with so much meat and not loads of sauce. The homemade onion bahjis were delicious. Delivery was prompt and the driver was a lovely lady and was so helpful when I called.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the food was great and we were given clear information for a vegan requirement. The tandoori chicken tikka arrived sizzling and was delicious. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had 2 takeaways from this restaurant whilst on holiday from Gloucester and on both occasions the food was excellent and very tasty . Highly recommend see you next year

The meal was fairly bland, and despite there being only 3 tables used in the restaurant, our food took ages to come, even the drinks took a while. I suspect they were prioritising takeaways, as there was a lot of coming and going. Restaurant was very very warm inside, which made it uncomfortable. We left as quickly as we could

Lovely food and friendly staff. Very reasonably priced. My partner was concerned at first as the restaurant was empty at 7pm on a Thursday night and thought this was a bad omen. But the reviews are good and we had a very enjoyable meal. There's plenty of free parking right next to the restaurant.

We are on holiday and 5 of us went on a Wednesday night to dine in. We were sat down promptly on a quiet night. The waiter was polite and efficient bringing us poppadoms and condiments, the lime pickle was good! The starters were excellent so we are off to a good start. The mains however were average at best, lacking flavour and just above warm but not hot enough for my preference. At a little over £25 per head with a drink each I expected better, our favourite hometown restaurant do it much better, for a little less. On the whole though, it was o.k.

Now that we live in Cornwall we searched for a good Indian Curry house and this is by far the best. Lovely food, reasonably priced and the staff are amazingly friendly. Good for eat in and takeaway, highly recommended ☺️

Staying at par sands holiday village had a lovely guy deliver our takeaway had garlic chilly chicken chicken pathia garlic knan pilau rice it was absolutely delicious enjoyed every bit of it 👍

Nice layout inside, staff very friendly. Started with papadoms and chutney, the lime pickle was excellent. For my main I had Bengal Massala, coconut rice and a keema nan a lovely dish. Would recommend this restaurant.

We had a lovely meal here. It was very quiet being a Monday but the good was delicious . Staff were really friendly and service was good. Would definitely return .
