Went for a meal for my birthday, on arrival they didn't have a table ready despite us booking in advance. They quickly found us a table but was quite cramped for 5 of us. We've visited many times over the years and have been happy with our meal, unfortunately this wasn't the case this time. We waited an hour for our steaks which were really dry and chewy despite us ordering fillet steak. Then we ordered desserts with only 4 of us being served, everyone else had finished theirs so decided I wasn't going to eat on my own. When we went to pay they arrived with my dessert which I declined. The bill came to £200 which I wouldn't have minded paying if the meal was satisfactory but £200 for 5 pieces of rubber!! Very Dissapointed, we will Never return and will warn freinds and family.

Been many times before and always had good food and service. However today we were very disappointed as the full rack of ribs was half the size we’ve had there previously (now just 6 ribs for £20) and unfortunately the cheesecake was off! Sadly service was not with a smile either!

Went on Sunday 28th Lunch. 6 of us had 2 very kind young girls with dark hair see to us with the first couple of meals and a very blunt not very kind blonde guy. He was very rude and obnoxious to manners towards us and seemed like he didn’t want to be there at all the younger of the females was polite cleared our dishes and offered us desserts which we ordered, elder girl polite and we saw her more then once carrying stacks of dishes! All 4 women working smiles happy and polite to us! Maybe the young lad needs to learn from them how to put a smile on his face.

Went for Sunday lunch with friends. It’s the second time we have been. Food is good with large portions. My steak was tasty and well cooked, but the meat was a little tough. Staff were attentive but when my son spilt his drink, they were very unhelpful. Instead of assisting to clean it up first, which we did in the end, they just kept bringing food to the table and trying to find somewhere to fit it around the spilt drink. I asked for a wet cloth to wipe the table as it was sticky and did not get any help with this either. Overall. Good pub, good food and unfortunately for us, staff were unhelpful and a little unfriendly.

Rooms are clean and tidy. Place is in nice quiet spot. Has real character and the staff are lovely. It's a no fuss place, simple but very nice. Food is good and breakfast is good.

Decent place for a drink. Difficult to get to on foot it looks but not a problem for us in the car. The pub looks great and the conservatory looked really good especially with the grape plant growing inside. Definitely worth visiting for a drink. I can’t comment on the food as we did not eat there. But based on the other reviews it’s decent scran.

Met up with friends, not been here before and decided to visit after seeing an article in the local news. Lovely old building, just off the A38 out of Saltash. Friendly welcome, reasonably busy. Food very good, very good size helpings, large fish and chips. Would recommend

Lively little hidden gem. We came for a cheeky drink and some food and were pleasantly surprises by the menu. A lovely selection of smoked fish and sea food. Aswell as fresh and crisp salads aswell As fast service and friendly and providing staff. And the view isn’t something to turn your nose away from. Will be coming back as soon as I can to try more from the menu. .

This review is only for their Sunday roast. Our group of 8 were sat in the conservatory-like extension. As such, there was a lot of natural light which made for a very nice setting. The service is good, and the staff are attentive. The roast is average (6.5 out of 10), with room for improvement. - The carrots were disappointingly boiled. They would have been roasted. - Broccoli, also boiled and plain. No flavoring, no salt. Which is ok, but having two bland vegetables (broccoli and carrots).....is not ok - Purple cabbage was a tad sweet from I think sultanas, was missing a bite of acidity to brighten it up. - Sirloin was cooked well, leaning toward medium rather than medium rare, which would have been my preference. - Gravy. I was not a fan of the gravy, which was transparent, somewhat tasteless, and viscous from the thickener. I would have preferred a roux based gravy, or straight au jus. - The potatoes, which look promising, were unfortunately far from crisp. - the swede mash tasted more like butter than its constituent vegetables. I know, who complains about buttery veg? But one of the things I enjoy about mash is the flavor of the swede/parsnips/carrots. - Yorkie and stuffing are average, nothing notable.

The food was absolutely fantastic, so tasty and a nice large portion. I had the cornish blue and steak suet pudding and my husband had the lasagne and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Booked a table for me and my significant other and turned up and they hadn’t written down the booking so had to wait a while until the situation was resolved. The menu was hard to chose from but all looked positive. Until the food came out. I had the risotto and the rice was undercooked and it was cold. Looked and smelt like sick. My partner had the bacon burger and the bacon was chewy and inedible. The burger was raw. We also had a chocolate cake and it was burnt. Service was appalling and waitress was rude and made us feel unwelcome.

Went there for a evening meal as a group. Service was friendly if a little on the slow side considering how busy it was (roughly 40-50% capacity). Everything on the menu looked delicious, so it was tough to choose. Prices were quite high, which set expectations for the food equally high. Unfortunately the food was only OK. Nothing wrong or unpleasant, just the quality didn't reflect the price.

Had 8 small plates for 3 of us. The highlights were the keema, pani puri, bhel and the sea bass (massive portion). All very tasty will be back to try the curry.

Monday evenings are very busy, motorbike meet night. Despite the large queue, managed to get served fairly quickly and food brought to table too.
