Excellent Thai restaurant, very close to the ocean walk...friendly and helpful staff, excellent dishes...must try!

Enjoyed being looked after at Thai Moon .We had no reservation and was lucky to get a seat. The place is highly recommended.

Went here for a family meal the last week as we are locals to the town, food was mediocre at best. We all got served our mains and different times despite asking to get them at the same time, my youngest had jelly beans and to my suprise there was ants crawling around in it. Me and my wife were appalled by this as we should we and this put us off our food. Service was bad, all u could hear was the chef yelling names “Ella” and “Ivy” throughout our meal. The manager was also very not right, kept giving us malicious smiles and being very strange in general. If you don’t want to wake up with food poising i wouldn’t recommend!!

The food was appalling. Service was slow as they are understaffed with two very young girls working for an old man, who doesn’t do much to help. This made the atmosphere creepy. We left as soon as we could.

Mediocre even below average food (wouldn’t recommend Tom yum soup pad Thai was okay). The place was chaotic, slow service

Great husband and wife Team. The authentic Thai food was beautifully presented and DELICIOUS!! The staff were polite and friendly. The Gentleman, front of house, was really knowledgeable about the cuisine and Thai culture. We will definitely visit their new premises on our next trip.

Had a lovely family dinner for the final night of our holiday in Penzance. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, and the food was amazing with a really nice sea view.

I arrived there and just immediate creeps, front desk looked me up an down and smiled, when we sat down we tried to call a waiter over but nobody came and it wasn’t even busy. When someone finally did come their attitude was horrendous later on a young girl came and gave us our drinks and she was the nicest one there. We got our food and to our surprise the dishes had old food crust on them and the cutlery was far from clean, i wouldn't recommend coming here at all because we got home and my other half was throwing up with food poisoning we will never be coming back here and they should be put out of business. on top of all this the manager was shouting at two young girls the whole evening

The old guy at the front seems so noncy I feel bad for all the underaged girls that work there. I was given a dirty plate and napkins that had orange sauce on. The old guy was just sat around while 2 girls were running around, expected to do everything during busy hours. Disgusting.

Went there with family and just wasn’t a nice experience the owner was just sat at the front doing nothing while watching 2 young girls run around for him while it was busy which isn’t fair the table, knifes and forks were dirty the food was also cold when came out as there was only the couple of girls running around for this old guy definitely DO NOT recommend ( also make sure your kids don’t work there old guy don’t seem right)

The food was lovely. However, what looked like the owner of the shop seemed very laid back while all of the young girl staff were running around I also heard the old man shouting at my lovely server. The young girl was clearly in training but overall was not a nice atmosphere to be in.

So, so good! A husband and wife team running a marvellous little restaurant in a small upstairs dining room. All made from scratch, from the homemade duck spring rolls, tod mun pla (Thai fish cakes), Thai curries from fresh homemade pastes, everything was superb. Just be aware, "Thai hot" really does mean "Thai 🔥🔥🔥 hot"

Strange atmosphere, the gentleman who was in charge was clearly training new staff. Food was nice and fast. We didn’t like being asked the number of the food when ordering (sitting inside) it felt more like a takeaway. But the food that came out was alright, would try again

Friendly staff and interesting decor. Good value for money food. The waitress said all of their dishes are mild but they can make them extra spicy. My husband opted for extra spice and they certainly provided that! My husband thought the duck pancake rolls were exceptionally good. My king prawns with a chilli dip were good, I enjoyed them. I had the Sea Bass and noodles which were great. Husband had the red thai curry chicken (with extra spice). He said one of the most tasty and hot curries he has eaten.

Lovely food and service. Any alcohol is expensive though both beers and wines.

We always have to come here when we are in Penzance, the staff and food are wonderful and you get a nice sea view out of the window while you eat.

We were told by our BNB host to try out the restaurant and were very pleased with the food, not so much the experience. I had the #20, chicken and veggies and wasn’t enough food so I ordered rte white rice as well. My wife had the Phad Thai and was too spicy so ordered extra noodles to soften the heat. We were billed or both. Wait staff was hit and miss. No water was offered, other tables got oyster crackers and we didn’t.. Small restaurant, reserve a table. You sit really close to others. We had a young man by him self who was the loudest slur-per of soup and open mouth eater I have ever seen (or heard). It really about ruined our dinner. Not much the owner or waitress could do, but all the diners within three tables kept starring at this kid. If the owner took a minute to come out and check on the floor, maybe he would have said something. Owner stays behind the counter and only comes out to have you sign the bill.

I went here because it was close to the Airbnb I was staying in, and it was a stormy night with the rain lashing down and the restaurant had nice twinkly lights and looked welcoming, and because it had good reviews. I am completely mystified as to why it has good reviews. The service was very strange. The owner was training up two wait staff and pretty much ignored me - apart from squeezing me into an uncomfortable table for one despite there being loads of other tables free. The two wait staff, although nice, seemed totally clueless. All this wouldn’t have bothered me that much, but the food was appalling. I’d ordered a sweet and sour chicken thing. The whole dish was inedible. The chicken was rubbery and slimy, the sauce tasteless and slimy, and there were crinkle cut vegetables slopping around in it that I guessed had come out of a packet of frozen vegetables. I’d ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. They brought me a red wine. They changed it, but it wasn’t Sauv Blanc. I left practically everything. Got up and asked for the bill. It was obvious I hadn’t eaten/ drunk but no one asked why. They just took the food away and the owner gave me the bill and I paid. Would avoid!

Not like a Pad Thai iv ever tasted before,bit too heavy on the Tamarind sauce for me. English husband Thai wife combo,similar to my local thai in Essex actually.All front of house were English, not what I expected when I first walked in but they were great and engaging. Great decor too ,shame the food wasn't to my taste.

Great little place definitely stop by if you're in penzance. Food is delicious and its my first time i ate a spring roll that wasn't oily on the inside.

We ordered a take away from here - very disappointed, Massaman curry extremely HOT, it’s not like that usually. The pad Thai was a very odd ‘gravy’ colour, not seen it like that before (only 3 prawns in there !) strange tasting. Chips again an odd colour, tasted like they had used old potatoes on the turn, threw away ! We regularly usually use a Thai restaurant in town but unfortunately they were shut - they are EXCELLENT I suggest your chef takes a visit there ! You were also more expensive with smaller portions ! Wouldn’t use again !

We are regulars! We come every year when on holiday in Marazion. The restaurant has a genuine atmosphere with beautiful photos of the owners family, and authentic Thai food.. the owner is very friendly. One comment - we booked a table for 3 adults and were seated at a 4, of course. The extra place setting and chair could have been removed so that it was a bit more natural - we were constantly reminded of an ‘absent guest’ . Just saying!

Not as big as you may imagine from the outside but Thai Moon has a varied menu and is good value for money. The fish dish, sea bass, was excellent and the Thai chicken curry really tasty, rice is separate with several to choose from. We had ice cream for dessert but next time would have a starter as a preference. A great venue, recommended.

Lucky enough that we could be fitted in at late notice for a family of 6 for a fantastic Thai meal. We had set menu’s & extra Thai green curry, desserts & coffee. Delicious. All enjoyed our meal out & staff were friendly & attentive.

We live locally & spontaneously decided to get a take away. There was a menu outside so we chose what we wanted & went to go in to order. Inside you are immediately met with a flight of stairs & a large red sign saying Don't come upstairs for take away but ring a bell. So we rang the bell. A polite young girl came to the top of the stairs & asked us to ring in with our order & disappeared. So we rang & nobody answered. We rang again & the number was engaged. Feeling this was all getting a bit unwelcoming & annoying I went upstairs & asked the staff if they were too busy to take a take away order. The restaurant was half full. A member of staff said she would come down. We waited, she didn't appear, so we left. Very strange & unwelcoming. What a shame.

Food seems to be tweaked for Western tastes rather than being authentic .The tantalizing hit of spices and chilly was missing. Requested chilli paste and was offered chilly oil ,which it was not ,just some sliced chilly in soy Unfortunately came away disappointed .Ordered both the soups which were too sour and barely had the taste I have had in Thailand. The Pat Thai was also overwhelmingly sour.

Quick and pleasant service. Accommodated us when we walked in despite being quite busy. Delicious dishes with plenty of veg. Quite pricey (but that's everywhere in the UK just now).

The duck spring rolls were inedible. The duck was dry and the roll was greasy. The pad thai was very homemade but not in a good way. The service was fair but there was no atmosphere. I won't be going back.

Cosy family run Thai restaurant serving authentic Thai food. We had three lovely ,tasty meals served by pleasant and attentive staff. We will definitely be going again. As it is very popular, it's best to book. Highly recommended.

I stand by my peculiar claim that the best Thai food in the UK can be found in Celtic nations. Don't ask me why, something to do with human geography I guess. Wales? Great Thai! Cornwall? Great Thai! Ireland? Probably great Thai (never been)! The food here was lovely, had the veggie Penang curry with jasmine rice and with some veggie spring rolls for a starter. The staff was very helpful and kindly double checked items' ingredients to assist with my allergy :) Lovely decor, lovely music, lovely views too!

Excellent Thai food, cooked with consideration and served with genuine appreciation of customers choices. Try something a bit different, the stir-frys are great and the duck dishes are superb. Dirty flies inside restaurant were embarrassing and hovering around my plate multiple times. A single lady was serving the food but she was kind and trying to serve everyone as soon as possible. Food could have been better.

We ordered a takeaway as a treat. On collecting the food the owner was very pleasant. Unfortunately when we got the food home we were extremely disappointed. In fact both of us couldn't finish our meals. They were tasteless, sloppy and not attractive. I had Ga Tan Ron with Prawns which were over cooked and rubbery. The Thai sticky rice came in a cling wrap lump, which looked like it had been microwaved. My partner had Rad Naah, stir fried rice noodles with vegetables, potato flour and oyster sauce. There appeared to be no vegetables and when they put it on their plate it was so sloppy it went all over the place. They said it tasted like school dinners. I did phone the restaurant to share my concerns, the owner was very polite and said that his Thai wife does all the cooking.

We were visiting Penzance for a short weekend break and looking for somewhere to eat. Thai Moon happened to be just outside of our accommodation and how fortunate! Since the reviews were good, we looked no further and popped in straight away. What a joy! The food was excellent, if you like Thai dishes, with a home-cooked feel and good presentation. Service was attentive and items on the menu are value for money. We were greeted with complimentary prawn crackers, which were very tasty and not like any others we had in the past. Order for two of drinks, two starters, two main dishes and rice has rung up just under £50 and we left very satisfied. The green curry is to die for, choice in menu was good and kept simple. We had a chat with the owner too, who has shared the history of the place and the decor. It felt really authentic. It is good idea to reserve a table beforehand, we were lucky as the first ones in, however it got busy really quickly soon after opening. They also offer a takeaway. If you are in the area and looking for a tasty, oriental and authentic meal - do not miss it! Highly recommended.

A cosy family run Thai restaurant . The atmosphere is very good and the restaurant is very very popular so it is best to make a reservation. The food is very good and very tasty. This restaurant was recommended to me by the Panorama Guest House, I will definitely be eating here again on my next visit to Penzance.

Sadly disappointing! The food was not of a high standard, I had Thai fish cakes which were very chewy and tough the texture made me wonder if they were freshly cooked, the taste was not great I then had a sea bass in sweet and sour sauce it was ok. We ordered jasmine rice and got sticky rice! My husband’s satay chicken was ok he ordered a duck dish with mushrooms peppers spring onions in a red curry sauce, there was not a mushroom or pepper or spring onion on the plate! We looked at the other options on the menu and my husband’s dish did not match any of them so we feel they just dished out a strange mixture of ingredients they had left from the evening’s menu. The girls serving were lovely. The man at the counter seemed far more interested in supervising the girls than looking after his customers. We didn’t complain, just left. I have no idea how this restaurant has got so many good reviews! Maybe they actually think that’s what Thai food tastes like.

A short walk from my B and B and perfect for me as a coeliac - they even had a separate GF menu. I love Thai food, and the service was excellant. Thoroughly recommend

I cannot fathom how people have given this restaurant five stars, particularly those who claim to love Thai food. Our meal was bland and watery, and was served suspiciously quickly. If you have ever eaten Thai food before then avoid this place - the food is not as good as a make your own curry meal kit from a supermarket.

Friendly staff, wonderful view over the sea. Steep stairs to get to the restaurant. We had set meal A for two and two Singha beers each for £59. Very tasty.

We had a take away last night. There were three of us and we were only round the corner. It was ready in half an hour. The staff were very helpful and polite and the food was amazing especially the Thai green curry and the chicken satay skewers. Definitely going back for more 👏

We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and lovely food at this charming Thai restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though we hadn't booked. My red Thai curry with chicken was excellent. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. It was also very reasonably priced.

Lovely atmospheric decor. Welcoming staff. We had chicken toast, dim sum, beef green curry and chicken labb. All were fresh and tasty. We were advised that the spiciness level could be on the mild side, with an option to ask for spicier, but we found the default level good, especially for the green curry (typically I like it on the spicy side, and it was spicy enough for me). Overall we would recommend and we will go back.

Very poor Thai. Simply no flavour. Avoid if you like spice, seasoning or flavour. But to give it some credit the service was good and friendly.

We took a chance and went to the restaurant without booking. We were lucky to get a table and so pleased we did. Food was lovely and service was really good. Would suggest booking to avoid disappointment.

Beautiful little restaurant with a lovely sea view from wherever you sit. We had the prawns and the dim sum to start - both delicious! For mains we had Thai green curry, pad Thai and egg fried rice - again, delicious. Jelly beans at the end of the meal is a nice touch. Couldn’t fault it. Young lady training and the owner was incredibly patient with her helping her to take orders. Couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant environment.

An almost hidden gem, but you'll be glad you found it, just at the end of the prom, and a fabulous view out to sea from the upstairs dining room. Very warm and friendly welcome, a small plate of prawn crackers waiting on our table, efficient service, food was tasty and plentiful, good value. We'll be back soon.
