The best restaurants serving Default food in Wokingham South East

Éramos un grupo de 12 , compuesto por tres familias, celebrando un cumpleaños. Cuando se sirvió la comida y llegó la factura, notamos que cinco de cada siete artículos estaban doblemente cargados. La factura inicial que se nos presentó fue de 375 libras. Al revisarlo, encontramos que muchos artículos se enumeraban en cantidades dos o tres veces superiores a lo que realmente habíamos pedido. Después de las correcciones, la factura se redujo en un tercio a £ 278. Entiendo que puede haber error en la facturación de un par de artículos, sin embargo, en nuestro caso fue de 7 artículos adicionales cobrados. Cuando interrogamos al propietario sobre las discrepancias, su respuesta fue desdeñosa y arrogante, alegando que fue un error de facturación, pero no ofreciendo disculpas. El comportamiento del gerente sugirió un intento deliberado de inflar el monto total. Esta práctica es muy poco ética, e instamos a todos, especialmente a los grupos más grandes, a revisar a fondo sus facturas para evitar que se les cobre de más intencionalmente.

Beautiful location, great coffee and an array of homemade cakes. The carrot cake was one of the best I've ever tasted. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Dairy alternative milks available vegan cakes too. The cafe sits right next to the lake where you can sit and watch the variety of bird life and the numerous dragonflies flying around this aptly named cafe. Take a walk around the lakes too such a peaceful area the car park isn't huge but seemed to accommodate visitors well enough. If you're a cyclist a friendly and warm welcome awaits with room to leave bikes safely and enjoy a well deserved coffee. Highly recommend this little oasis.

Dinner was nice but the slow service made the meal a bit of a bore to be honest. Breakfast on the other hand because it was buffet style was a pleasure and the ingredients all good quality. Looked like understaffed dining room was the problem with only one lady rushed off of her feet taking orders and clearing tables. Value was decent at £30 pp for a three course meal although the obligatory supplements were added if you wanted steak or lamb. Love the hotel but probably would seek to eat dinner out next time.

My wife and I saw an advert on our local community group saying this establishment was doing very good fish and chips for take away. On the group site people were saying this cost £7:50 each for fish&chips but you had to order in advance. My wife wife placed an order and on the other end of the phone it sounded like an old lady taking the order, she was very abrupt and wasn’t listening to what was being asked and just kept talking over what my wife was trying to ask. Anyway we eventually placed our order. When we arrived to pick it up my wife went into the side entrance and went to pay, the old lady was quite rude and said it was £8:50 each, when my wife said that on the local page it everyone was saying £7:50. She just brushed it off and said she didn’t know about that, my wife only had £15 in cash and as we had only ordered for 2 this is all she had. There were dogs running around the area as well not very hygienic. The price appears to change depending on who you are as my wife went back to the local group and the members are still saying they pay £7:50. First and last time using this pub takeaway the fish and chips were a small portion for the price.

Normally we have no issues with this place, love it & great food & value, but this time was awful. I placed an online order to collect, waited 40 mins that went over my time slot, only to find my food had been ready for 20 mins an put in the wrong section! Got home with cold food & to top it off, wrong meal! Really disappointed, especially with the service.

I visit here nearly every week, usually for breakfast which is always delicious, perfectly cooked and a generous portion, I now only buy my sausages and bacon from the farm shop next door. Great service from friendly staff.

Great chippy, been visiting as long as I can remember and never had a complaint. Family run business, always look after their regulars. big portions of huge fluffy chips and always easier on the wallet than other places.

We use this cafe Monday to Friday for lunch as it is so good, the food is fresh and the staff are warm and welcoming especially Christine she always has a smile, the range of drinks is wide and varied and the prices are reasonable. What more could you want.

From ordering on the phone other evening to Barney delivering my order...excellent customer service. Barney was most pleasant, very polite, most helpful, so nice to meet a real Gentleman. Delivery was in good time, my order was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. Thank you very much.

The most delicious breakfast wrap that I have ever had! I have also had the mushroom burger on a previous vist and it was really lovely.

I stay in Wokingham for work a fair bit and discovered The Dukes Head last summer. Fantastic pub with great hosts, Ed and Claire who couldn't be more welcoming. Beer is fantastic, vibe is great and newly refurbed and redecorated - it's lovely. Really love dropping in here for a beer and to chill out when I'm in town - by far my fave Wokingham stop off for a beer and some craic. Love it in here. Definitely worth a visit.

Very disappointing after previous good experiences. We had a table booked for 3pm, they had clearly overbooked and let walk-ins eat. No table available for about 40 minutes then another 50 minute wait for 4 roasts which were luke warm with overcooked potatoes, minimal veg and the flattest yorkshire pudding I've ever seen, even the waiter admitted he wouldn't eat it. No apologies for the wait, no drinks offered, clearly understaffed and not coping with demand. Won't rush back.

Good food, cooked to order. We all enjoyed it . The team was happy and friendly , well done !
