Beautiful location, great coffee and an array of homemade cakes. The carrot cake was one of the best I've ever tasted. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Dairy alternative milks available vegan cakes too. The cafe sits right next to the lake where you can sit and watch the variety of bird life and the numerous dragonflies flying around this aptly named cafe. Take a walk around the lakes too such a peaceful area the car park isn't huge but seemed to accommodate visitors well enough. If you're a cyclist a friendly and warm welcome awaits with room to leave bikes safely and enjoy a well deserved coffee. Highly recommend this little oasis.

We can't say anything about the sandwiches etc. bit we stopped today to have a coffee tea and cake and we were REALLY impressed. Good value, good tea (I always have low expectations with takeaway teas and this one was good!). The cakes though were the best part we had a vegan chocolate banana read (never would know its vegan) and the lemon drizzle. Generous portion sizes and nice outdoor seating. Would definitely come again

I came to the Cafe Monday 20th of September and I was appalled with the overall service and hygiene. I went with my friend and son. There was a limited amount of options on the menu, so we settled for an overcharged cheese and pickle sandwich, sausage sandwich and a pot of beans for the little one. The table we went to was sticky and cluttered and we ended up cleaning this ourselves and there were several other tables that were left in a state that even the pigeons were eating crumbs off of it! There weren’t any child seats insight or a waiter. We ended up asking another family where the seats were and managed to get one in the other field around the corner through the opening of the first garden. I would’ve never personally thought about looking there or knowing where this was and there weren’t any signs for this either. The beans came to us scolding, you should check the heating requirements of how hot food needs to be because it seemed overly hot, especially for a toddler. I am sure this is hotter than the legal limit and if there were any accidents no doubt there would’ve been a legal case for this. We were never given any cutlery, and then when I finally saw the waiter he handed the spoon to me in a napkin and pulled the other spoon head away with his hands, so it appeared contradictory and sloppy. The table number stands to sit down with were also hideously sticky and in a poor state, and the crisps that came with the baps were nasty and greasy. I was also surprised to see a kids snack box filled with an unhealthy array of sugary snacks and drinks. I honestly feel the café lets the place down and needs to be addressed immediately! It is overpriced and unhygienic. The toilets were disgusting also and I am sure you would be flagged if you had mystery shoppers come to visit!

Stayed in a local hotel but was looking for something a bit more special for breakfast. Some Reviews here and photos on their website convinced us to give it a try. I had the traditional breakfast which was ok. The egg yolk wasn't runny, not so bad, but the bacon was terrible. It had been overcooked in the first place but then microwaved to re-heat turning it into leather. Any one who has tried this technique before would have no doubt either. My wife had the avocado with poached eggs and crispy bacon. The poached eggs were hard boiled, the bacon (back bacon, not thin streaky or other) was the same as the above - leather. The toast had been heavily buttered before the avocado went on...we've never seen this done this way before with butter AND avocado! Needless to say we were really disappointed. The serving staff seemed rushed off their feet and never gave us any attention, in which case we would have fed this matter back to them but they never returned after the initial serving. Rather than hang around longer getting annoyed we just left for the Park, writing the dining experience off. Will return to the Park but will give the Cafe a miss

I was shocked with the amount of choice on the menu catering for all dietary needs. As a vegetarian I found this very surprising as not all cafes of this size have as much variety to cater for vegan/vegetarian diets. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was at an amazing quality!

Staff were all super friendly and helpful, and made us feel very at ease with all the cleaning facilities and sanitisers available. Portion sizes were generous and we left feeling very very satisfied. We had the vegetarian breakfast and the sweet chilli chicken baguette (which was one of the specials). The atmosphere around the gardens was very family friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back!!

After visiting Dinton play area as a treat for my 4 year old daughter, she politely asked if she could use her pocket money to buy herself an ice cream. On going to pay at the till, we were told that they did not accept cash and that was just the way it was. We did not bring bank cards with us as we did not want to risk losing these in the play area. I understand that there are certain restraints with regards to Covid, but I paid with cash today at a BP Petrol Station on the way to work, as well as at a Tescos, with no problem. My daughter was obviously very upset about this and burst into tears in the cafe. A treat to walk to Dinton and play in the play area has been tarnished by rude staff at the cafe. Thanks for nothing and thanks for not understanding and dealing with the situation. I would advise anyone to avoid, but being a captive market, people can not really do this, and it seems like staff know this and use this as an excuse to treat people rudely.

Came to this cafe after a round of Crazy Golf at Dinton Pastures where I might say the customer was amazing! But then we got to the cafe ... as soon as we placed our order it was clear the young lady (who had an accent) did not like serving us. During our conversation she said phrases like "are you finished?" and "is that ALL you want to order?". She was miserable, rude and short with us Worst customer service we've ever had!! Manners don't cost anything. We won't be having breakfast/coffee there again. My advice - stay away!!

We've used the café for a long time. It's dog friendly and they have tried different timings for taking dogs indoors and reached a good compromise. It's busy and there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. We like the place - it has to cater for a wide variety of users and groups and you can never 100% please everyone. Prices are alright. The one thing I really, really wish is they'd do something about - is the queueing. Why not have two queues - one for food and one for just drinks? If you hit at a busy time - you can wait an eternity

Great location in Dinton Pastures country park. There's outside seating and plenty of space inside. The coffee is OK, but scone today looked attractive, but certainly not fresh. On another occasion the bacon in.my sandwich was dry and had not been freshly cooked. The large seating area inside seems to be used by some and today a group was having a noisy confidence call (yes, the laptophad the speaker on loud). Not a location if you like peace and quiet?

Our son lives close and we went for a walk around the lakes, which was great, (we saw a hobby). We fancied lunch so this was the obvious choice. I don’t eat gluten so I ordered the fried breakfast but with gluten free toast. The others all ordered salmon with scrambled egg. We found our table and 30 seconds later the chef found us to say the sausages may have gluten in so could I settle for extra bacon. Sure! When it arrived there was a heap of bacon, and an extra egg. Happy bunny! So, Pros?Great staff, pleasant to sit outside, quick and caring service, nice food.Cons.The scrambled egg and salmon was lukewarm to cold apparently although it looked and tasted fine. All in all the experience was fine, but their treatment of the gluten issue was brilliant. After a lovely family walk decided to call in for refreshments. Simple tea and sandwiches was all that was needed. We sat outside and one of the party went in to order. Well, the tea and sandwiches were certainly simple but the same could not be said of the price (and the 45 minute wait for four sandwiches with no attempt at an apology for the delay when they arrived!).Tuna flavoured mayo on white for over £5.00. Very little ham and loads of pickle for even more and a ham on speciality brown over six quid. The toasted version of the tuna option was over six quid. Throw in a couple of kids meal item packs and drinks for all and we were starting to spend serious money - all to sit outside. The food was OK but the prices charged certainly were not. In future I think we’ll give this place a big miss. As a footnote we also had to pay more than anticipated at the car park because we had to top up three cars due to the huge delay in the food arriving.

The park was packed yesterday and yet everyone seemed to be having a good time. A separate till to serve ice creams would have helped in the afternoon as ours was melting as we waited.

This could be a really, really great place. However, the service space is poorly designed, their systems are rubbish and as a consequence it always takes an age to be served - and fo orders to be delivered. The enthusiastic teenagers who run the place are poorly led by the older 'ladies" - a simple order takes an absolute age to appear. So, if you're going to Dinton (which is great by the way) take a picnic: otherwise you'll spend a good portion of your time in the cafe waiting for a coffee and a sandwich!

After a lovely family walk we decided to pop in for a bite to eat and a coffee. I am sorry to say the experience was disappointing to say the least. The coffee was weak tasteless and lukewarm. We ordered and were charged for different sized drinks, however when they arrived they were all the same size cups. The strollers breakfast included sausages, when it arrived they were two extremely small burnt chipolatas. In fact the whole meal itself was dry old looking and overcooked. We also ordered bacon and egg sandwiches. My wife asked the assistant for the bacon not be cooked crispy. To which she was informed that it comes as it comes. Clearly they do not take customer requests into account. Needless to say when the sandwiches arrived the bacon was extremely crispy, dry and shrivelled, exactly what we didn't want. The café was not busy and therefore no excuse for poor food.

I've had a few meals at Dragonfly Café (mostly breakfasts and also coffee) and have sadly found that the standard has deteriorated hugely since the Café changed hands several years ago. The coffee used to have some flavour and the breakfasts used to taste fresh and were of good quality. I'm afraid I can't say that anymore. For the prices charged, a much better quality is expected. At the moment the breakfast looks akin to what you might get in a mediocre quality Greasy Spoon. I agree that the service is slow and not particularly hospitable either. There needs to be a better queuing system as the last time I went the queue was out of the door onto the patio and it's very difficult for people who have ordered to actually get out of the café!

Lovely spot but breakfast very plain. Bacon full of water so covered in white "scum" from cooking the water out. Eggs just over cooked. Mushrooms absolutely tasteless. The coffee has no "body" so if you're a coffee drinker beware. More than £16 for two small breakfasts and two coffees we felt was way over the top. Would have been much better value if only a little more care was taken over the presentation. Why not source dry cured bacon and cook the mushrooms with a little pepper to give them life? Popped into the Dragonfly Café for lunch with 2 children and ordered 2 different baguettes and a Panini. Not the sort of complex meal that should take 45 mins to prepare and serve. It was (just about) worth waiting for, but I was running out of ideas to entertain the children when it finally arrived so just in time! I would suggest avoiding busy times (like lunch, weekends etc) and maybe take an emergency snack with you in case you should die of hunger while waiting. The home-made cakes are good, and the food (when it arrives) is more than edible, if perhaps a little pricy for the sort of simple fare that they are selling.

Whoever built the Dragonfly Cafe realised that it was going to be a goldmine. Dinton Pastures is popular all year round, and there are always people in the cafe. There is plenty of seating inside and out, and during peak summer times there is a portable cafe too which is great for those of us with dogs (they are welcome to sit outside but going in to order refreshments is a challenge)! Why the four stars? Two reasons: the pricing and the speed of service. The food and drink is expensive for what it is, and meals can take a long time to be served depending on how many people are working and how busy it is. I don't always feel that the staffing is organised as efficiently as it could be. You need to be prepared to queue at peak times, too.Everything is good quality, however, and there is lots of choice. This was the third time the group met at Dragonfly Cafe Dinton Pastures and my first visit. The first thing we found was that there is not enough disable parking spaces. It was busy with many families enjoying the sunshine and other facilities. The other members of the group lead me to the back of the building overlooking the golf course where we joined other families and groups on the patio where there were tables and umbrellas. We then found out that we had to walk around the building to get in so we could order drinks, food or use the toilets, as there were no handles on the outside of the doors. As a result, we opened a door and using a chair kept it open. The staff members were very understanding when we explained why we wanted it open. There were no menus so we has to remember as best as we could what was being offered so the rest of the group could decide what they wanted for lunch. We chose to have jacket potatoes and salad with different fillings. A member of staff kindly transported the food when it was ready to our table. He did the same with the drinks and desert later on. I can say we enjoyed our lunch and hope to return again in the future. The food was tasty and well presented. We found the staff helpful, patient, and friendly. The disable toilets were well signposted, clean, and usable. I would like to recommend this venue for breakfast lunch or tea.

Visited for a late lunch, opted for the "homemade 100% beef burger" it was very tasty and well cooked if a little regimented in shape to be "homemade"' however rather strangely the burger is served with tortilla chips......... Now I know I should have asked if it came with chips but as I've never been served a burger without chips I made an assumption, i suppose the clue to no chips should have been when i asked for vinegar to take to the table I was told "we don't have vinegar'.To be honest at a cost of £6.95 I will be careful before ordering food there again.

Dinton pastures country park is a great place to visit. You cant leave without visiting the cafe, the food is plentiful and great choices for healthy eating. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is also a large seating area outside for us dog owners!

This was my fourth time visiting a Gails bakery. The previous 3 times I had reservations about the bakery but put it down to short staff or a busy period. Today however I have come to the conclusion that Gails is highly overrated. The staff are pretty rude aside from the mediocre and bland food on offer which is overpriced as well. We had the scones and a spinach and feta pastry. The scones were dry, ice cold and flavourless, the spinach and feta pie was bland and greasy. Improvement in flavour, presentation and most importantly taste needs a major overhaul. Happy to pay high prices for high quality products. I will give this place a miss whilst it gets to improving its standards and quality. There are countless of great coffee shops opening up so why not keep up the pace. .

Tiny pub, food was OK when it arrived - expect to wait 45mins plus for dry food, few greens and a big bill
