New Peking Chef in Wokingham

Normally we have no issues with this place, love it & great food & value, but this time was awful. I placed an online order to collect, waited 40 mins that went over my time slot, only to find my food had been ready for 20 mins an put in the wrong section! Got home with cold food & to top it off, wrong meal! Really disappointed, especially with the service.

Salt and pepper chicken wings were delicious! The oyster Prawns were very tasty but I do not like carrots diced in a Chinese meal. I prefer the traditionally sliced carrots cut into sticks. The soft noodles with beansprouts and the egg fried rice was delicious.

We bought fish and chips here midweek and it was quite possibly the best we've had anywhere: delicious, well cooked, generous portions and excellent value for money. So impressed, we had the Malaysian set dinner just three days later (which in itself is highly unusual, because two takeaways in one week is more than we normally have in a month) and that too was excellent, better than other oriental takeaways we've had: ready quickly, nice variety, very tasty, good portions and again excellent value. Can't wait to try their Chinese set menus, and I'd add that we have to drive five miles each way to get meals from here. Clearly we do not understand and agree with the negative reviews.

We use this place regularly and travel 15 min to get here as it’s worth the travel. Well nice food with very generous portions.

I went in for fish and chips but changed my mind and went for a Chinese instead, it was awful, no idea how they can serve that to customers, it went straight in the bin The fish and chips are normally ok but I won’t go back after that

Food was ok. Nothing special, was delivered cold. Better places locally that I would choose next time

We ordered beef chow mein and king prawn chow mein. The food was ready in less than ten minutes, piping hot and tasty, good quality ingredients, perfectly cooked. The beef was tender and juicy, as was the king prawn. We will definitely be using this takeaway regularly from now on.

I felt compelled to write a positive review as I too feel the negative ones make no sense.Under the previous management this place was dreadful, as a long standing local resident I can remember struggling to find anything edible on the menu. Not now! Since this current management have taken charge the food has been excellent and the service prompt and very polite. This is now my go to Chinese in Wokingham as I no longer see the need to drive into town for a decent meal. Would highly recommend.

Food is always very tasty, hot, and ready on time for collection! Staff are very polite and friendly! Handy to stop off to collect with parking near by in morrisons! I feel it does not deserve the bad reviews!

Ordered a takeaway on a busy Saturday night. Only took twenty minutes to arrive. Piping hot and excellent as usual....Recommended !!!

Sat around Saturday after the rugby and fancied Chinese. Couldn’t get through to Dragon Inn so searched and stumbled upon this place. Placed my order and waited. Food arrived and dished out. Most of it was cold, the sesame prawn toast was like cardboard, totally inedible! The chicken balls were like mini bouncing bombs, seaweed was like chewing tobacco! Main dishes were just bland! One star for the curry sauce (which I had to microwave!)

WHAT A TRANSFORMATION. Been told they have changed hands with new owner and management. Therefore, me and family went there for our weekly Chinese takeaway after stopped using them for a while. Wow, what a massive different it was. Foods were absolutely delicious and portions were good. Even the fish and chips were amazing. Glad to have given it another chance. Well done guys and keep up the good work. Will certainly be back and Fully recommended.

They have short changed me twice now in the last 4 weeks and also charged me for the use of a credit card when I only paid with cash! When I queried it they really did not care. On top of that they charge extortionate pricing for very poor quality food. The cod we had was very soggy and under-cooked. Very disappointing experience and would definitely not recommend.

First time here and visited whilst in Wokingham for the weekend. Young lady begind the counter very friendly and efficent. Premises looked spotless Food came out very quickly and when i got it home still piping hot. Quality was excellent could not fault it. Will certainly use again.
