Fish and chips with....Grease grease & more grease definitely not eating from here again

Absolutely worth the drive from Arborfield. Always good service, with friendly staff & we're never disappointed with the fish & chips. I popped in there with my daughter tonight & it was lovely to be recognised bearing in mind we'd not been there for a while. Now that customer service. 👌

Their fish and chips are good so is their Chinese takeaway normally. They have recently added delivery which is good. Wait can be lengthy as they get quite busy.

I wish Google have an option of no stars,.. Food was horrible .. 😭 I ordered £40 worth of food for all to go in BIn and order another takeaway I ordered chicken satay and it was too dry and didn't taste fresh Spring rolls: GOOD. Probably Frozen and fried. Chicken with cashew and yellow bean sauce: I got Barbecue sauce tossed chicken and I had to search for cashews. If they are in dead chicken belly Seaweed: so bloody DRYYYYYYY and never tasted horrible seaweed.... Egg Fried rice: I don't know when traditions have changed and people are using BROWN RICE that too cheapest quality... I also think there supposed to be some EGG and no where to be found. Chicken Fried rice: same old story Stupid order and I wish I can request full refund and never to go again...

It's ok. Not as good as Terry Ling's. I like Chinese chicken curry and fried rice. FAR TOO MUCH onion in the chicken curry.

Ordered a big order online and the food was ready to be collected in the shop within 20 minutes. Food was very tasty and good sized portions. Salt and pepper chicken wings and chicken in black bean sauce were particularly nice

Sausage and chips here are lovely. Not usually much of a curry sauce lover, but theirs hit the spot.

Chips were very disappointing and under cooked. She also suggested it was a £5 limit on card and the total cost was £4.80.. so don't quite believe that was the actual limit on a card.

Used to be a better fish and chip shop but then they brought in new fish cakes. I may just be imagining that they have new fish cakes but they recently just don’t taste as good

The older lady who picks up the call is rude and unprofessional. This is the second time I experience with her. Avoid this restaurant if you can. The food are bland and not fresh.

Local chippie, been before and food was a bit better at that point..this time unfortunately chips were undercooked people in there seemed nice enough, place could do with a decent uplift in decor to make it a bit more welcoming

Right. I don't know what oil these use but it is not a good one. After one small chips I feel like I've eaten 10 donner kebabs. Absolutely disgusting. My chips were also pale and slightly under cooked. Most chip shops I would eat at the most once a week but I give these lot once a year...

The spare ribs were decent, and the fish was great, but our 70 pound Chinese food order was on the whole disappointing.

Very nice food. Fast and efficient service! We tried both the fish and chips as well as the Chinese takeaway, both were really yummy! Recommended 💯!! The lady owner was very friendly and very helpful! Will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu!

Do not order from here if you want your food to taste anything like Chinese. The food was so bland and disappointing. Never again.

I have been intending to go here for awhile. I like crispy pancakes that are handsize and that this take out did them. After my daughters rugby match we called in. The set menu's were for one, two or four. So as there was three of us, it had to be the largest size, with two portions of crispy pancakes( each portion being two pancakes). The pancakes were crunchy, hot and dumbell shaped. The meat had fallen to one end, but otherwise was ideal start to our meal. The crispy duck 1/4 was just enough for two pancakes each. The 6 chinese ribs was easily divided and devoured. By now we are struggling with the volume of good food. So we divided up, the rice, the chicken in black bean sauce and the beef and mushroom. Leaving the noodles and vegetables for the next day. At a little over £53 it was a good, tasty and filling meal.

Awful takeaway! Poor customer service, and would seriously recommend never ordering online! Girl who takes the orders is extremely rude and can’t work under pressure when evenings are busy. Also accuses paying customers of lying. Far more expensive than Woodley Chef and nowhere near as nice. Only ordered here as Woodley Chef was closed, would never order from here again! 👎🏼

First time ever I have ordered a takeaway and not eaten it, it was so incredibly bland. I had the chicken chow mein and kung po chicken, they were both so lacking in flavour they could have been the same dish. Really disappointed, ended up ordering food from a different takeaway

I had the special chow mien with boiled rice, the chow mien was very small it consisted of mainly bamboo shoots with 2/3 very small prawns and a teaspoon of pork but the sauce that goes with it was nice

Just had a chicken black bean sauce meal,chicken was fine as was the sauce ,but the peppers and onions were very raw,making the onions especially bad tasting, most times food really good, but not this time.

Best fish n chips and Chinese food in Woodley, and lovely staff. To the person saying improve if you want to stay in business, lol they've been in business here for a very long time and have faithful customers, they aren't going anywhere.

This is my personal favourite Chinese in the area. Food is always good and reasonably priced, I love they have added internet ordering as well. Food is always prepared for when they say as well which is great.

Really did not like it. Small family run Chinese take away. Got noodles and sweet and sour vegetable dish. Noodles were bland and vegetable dish was a little smelly and seemed they used burned oil and was not cooked fully..

Two fish and chips in Woodley. Hong-Kong and Salt and vinegar. Not much to choose between the two.

after a long day working we decided to treat ourselves to fish and chips. We have been using this fish shop since the owners sold the one that they had by Twyford station. Although we live in Twyford it was well worth the trip - until today. Fish about half the size it usually is - maybe 2;/3 if I was feeling generous. Portion of chips I would say was about half the size as well. We usually have enough left for fish toastie the following day - not this time.Last went there about a month ago and the chap said they had changed supplier and the pieces were smaller so he gave us 3 instead of two. Chips were a good size portion.Under new ownership?

After an awful Chinese take away from Want Want a few weeks back, we tried Hong Kong tonight. I asked for removal of chilli from a dish, they did just that. It was clearly cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Great experience ordering over the phone too. Very happy customer!

They never disappointed us...always excellent customer service, amazing and tasty food (our favourite is chicken noodles, special fried rice, beef with mushrooms, salt&peper chips, etc)..best Chinese food in Woodley..

Fish are chips are consistently great and service and quick and friendly. Most definitely better than any other chip shops in the Reading and surrounding areas.Chinese from here is very average though hence the reason I've given 4 not 5. If this waa purely based on fish and chips I would give them top scores.

Mate I don’t know what to say. Me and my 3 mates all ordered. All of the chips were uncooked and not flavoured enough, my fish cake was melted into the vinegar they drenched it in when they put it on my chips. My mate was nearly sick Fix up

Solo para llevar, solo efectivo, debería ser más barato si no pagan impuestos. Hemos usado esta tienda de pescado y papas fritas varias veces, pero nunca hemos tenido una comida china desde aquí. El pescado y las papas fritas siempre son buenos para comer y las porciones son siempre grandes, pero a mi gusto, el pescado a menudo tiene demasiada masa. Woodley ha estado pasando por un momento terrible últimamente con restaurantes chinos. La desaparición de Want Want desde que el cambio de propietario ha sido muy decepcionante. Encuentro que siempre puedes confiar en Hong Kong para proporcionar una buena comida sin un gran peso. No diré que la comida es perfecta. He comprado pescado y patatas fritas para llevar de este lugar antes y estaban bien. Just been in for a curry, and chicken and sweet Corn soup. I can't believe some of the price increases. For instance the soup has gone up from £2.20 to £3.50 so to my disappointment I went without it. How can they justify a £1.30 price increase more than 50%. Several other items have gone up rather to much, but all prices have increased. I will be looking elsewhere as I love chicken and sweetcorn soup. Shame because I did like this place.

Decidimos conseguir comida de aquí ya que nuestra comida para llevar habitual está cerrada. Yo había comido aquí hace un tiempo y estaba bien, así que decidí darle otra oportunidad. Un error que no haré de nuevo. Todo estaba nadando en aceite. Todo estaba demasiado cocido para que la carne fuera extremadamente masticable. El arroz frito especial solo sabía mal. Verdaderamente una de las peores experiencias de comida china que he tenido. Mejor evitado

Recientemente me mudé a Woodley y pensé en probar este lugar, así que traje una porción de papas fritas y me sorprendió lo bien que estaban. obtienes un montón por tu dinero que eran encantadores y calientes y no demasiado cocidos, realmente los disfruté, así que desde esa visita he vuelto varias veces. una vez pedí pescado y patatas fritas para compartir con mi primo y yo incluso dijeron que querían que los pusiéramos en papel por separado para ustedes, así que teníamos la mitad de cada uno en papel aparte, no se puede superar eso para el servicio al cliente, Les he contado a todos mis amigos y familia lo adorable que es y el pescado que me olvidé de mencionar también era adorable, no sé nada de la otra comida, pero definitivamente intentaré hacerlo pronto.

Good place for fish and chips. Have not bought Chinese from here though. Usually nice and hot and the fish is not all batter like some fish shops. Parking round the back so easy to get to.

Normalmente sólo me vaya aquí para comida china, pero optamos por el pescado y patatas fritas la otra noche. Parecía costoso para lo que me dieron en comparación a otras tiendas similares en el área. Las patatas fritas eran suaves, pálidas y no muy bien preparado por lo que un chip debería ser. No es nuestra costumbre llevar pero lo usamos porque nuestra costumbre estaba cerrado por una redecoración y las críticas eran razonablemente positivas. No fue a la par con nuestra habitual favorito pero, sin embargo, razonable.
