Poor delivery time poor and cold food first and last time we use them

Delivery took a while but the food was worth it, really great Chinese dishes. Best lemon chicken I've had! The delivery driver was really nice too. Would recommend!!

Got my order last night and the foods are flavourful! Will definitely be back again to explore some other dishes from this shop

Sorry to say it's gone down hill

Yummy food especially the fish and chips! It might take a little bit longer during their peak hours (usually Friday & Saturday evening time) but worth the wait!! Will definitely order from them very soon

It sure if this place has changed owners but Such a shame as this place was the best chip shop around for many years, over the last few weeks has gone down hill dramatically! Thin hard chips and very greasy fish served. Also barely warm unlike the usual hot freshly cooked food I’ve been used to from here. Have ate here every week for as long as I can remember, unfortunately won’t be coming here anymore.

Order takeaway for months treat. Well disappointed 😞. This normally our favourite place to come. Chips were not cooked properly very rubby and hard. Also the Chinese side sweet and sour balls small and taste not the same.

Food was extremely greasy to the point that it couldn’t be consumed. Also two parts of the order were completely missing. But if they were anything like the food we did receive, they probably did us a favour missing it from the order.

What a total rip off. £3.40 for a small and I mean SMALL portion of chips, not even fresh as she scraped the bottom of the tray to get the crumbs out. Then wrapped it in so many sheets of paper to make it look bulky Ketchup sachet for size. I don't like being ripped off, so they've lost our Chinese business too.

I ordered for first time from this place,just for a change,I choose to do online ordered for home delivery. First the price from online are bigger than the shop ones,second the food have no flavour at all,rice is horrible taste,the noodles same,the chip's are dry.i will never ,never go back to them.Good waste of £50 ,I wished to read the reviews first before I ordered.

Definition of a great local Chinese. Been going here for 20+ years and never had a bad one. Been Family run for longer than I can't remember. Food is second to none.

Absolutely worth the drive from Arborfield. Always good service, with friendly staff & we're never disappointed with the fish & chips. I popped in there with my daughter tonight & it was lovely to be recognised bearing in mind we'd not been there for a while. Now that customer service. 👌

Their fish and chips are good so is their Chinese takeaway normally. They have recently added delivery which is good. Wait can be lengthy as they get quite busy.

I wish Google have an option of no stars,.. Food was horrible .. 😭 I ordered £40 worth of food for all to go in BIn and order another takeaway I ordered chicken satay and it was too dry and didn't taste fresh Spring rolls: GOOD. Probably Frozen and fried. Chicken with cashew and yellow bean sauce: I got Barbecue sauce tossed chicken and I had to search for cashews. If they are in dead chicken belly Seaweed: so bloody DRYYYYYYY and never tasted horrible seaweed.... Egg Fried rice: I don't know when traditions have changed and people are using BROWN RICE that too cheapest quality... I also think there supposed to be some EGG and no where to be found. Chicken Fried rice: same old story Stupid order and I wish I can request full refund and never to go again...

It's ok. Not as good as Terry Ling's. I like Chinese chicken curry and fried rice. FAR TOO MUCH onion in the chicken curry.

Ordered a big order online and the food was ready to be collected in the shop within 20 minutes. Food was very tasty and good sized portions. Salt and pepper chicken wings and chicken in black bean sauce were particularly nice

Sausage and chips here are lovely. Not usually much of a curry sauce lover, but theirs hit the spot.

First home delivery from this restaurant, spent over £40 on meals for 2. So was expecting something really nice and tasty. What a dissapointment portions were very small, and had no or little flavour. They need to up there game as other Chinese Restaurants are better. Roy

Chips were very disappointing and under cooked. She also suggested it was a £5 limit on card and the total cost was £4.80.. so don't quite believe that was the actual limit on a card.

Worst Chinese in a very long time. Everything was bland, prawn crackers had the most taste. I would expect a refund it was that bad.

Used to be a better fish and chip shop but then they brought in new fish cakes. I may just be imagining that they have new fish cakes but they recently just don’t taste as good

Food was lukewarm and bland. The chow mein was massively overcooked and just doughy. The black bean sauce was watery and tasteless, with decent pieces of chicken. Chicken satay again bland, watery and with no discernible peanut in it. Rice ok and free prawn crackers. Wouldn’t order again as threw most of it away

Lovely and tasty dishes cooked to the highest quality. Food arrived early and was piping hot. Highly recommended

The older lady who picks up the call is rude and unprofessional. This is the second time I experience with her. Avoid this restaurant if you can. The food are bland and not fresh.

We love this place for chicken chow mein, mushroom fried rice, lemon chicken and mixed veg in black bean sauce. You won't find a better equivalent restaurant in Reading. It's reliably good, food is well-packaged and hot, information about opening hours is always clear and reliable, nice relaxed atmosphere when you get there. There's currently no sit-down service.

Local chippie, been before and food was a bit better at that point..this time unfortunately chips were undercooked people in there seemed nice enough, place could do with a decent uplift in decor to make it a bit more welcoming

Right. I don't know what oil these use but it is not a good one. After one small chips I feel like I've eaten 10 donner kebabs. Absolutely disgusting. My chips were also pale and slightly under cooked. Most chip shops I would eat at the most once a week but I give these lot once a year...

The spare ribs were decent, and the fish was great, but our 70 pound Chinese food order was on the whole disappointing.

Very nice food. Fast and efficient service! We tried both the fish and chips as well as the Chinese takeaway, both were really yummy! Recommended 💯!! The lady owner was very friendly and very helpful! Will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu!

Nearly an hour on a Tuesday evening felt a bit of a long time to wait but the food was piping hot. Tasty but not incredible.

I have been intending to go here for awhile. I like crispy pancakes that are handsize and that this take out did them. After my daughters rugby match we called in. The set menu's were for one, two or four. So as there was three of us, it had to be the largest size, with two portions of crispy pancakes( each portion being two pancakes). The pancakes were crunchy, hot and dumbell shaped. The meat had fallen to one end, but otherwise was ideal start to our meal. The crispy duck 1/4 was just enough for two pancakes each. The 6 chinese ribs was easily divided and devoured. By now we are struggling with the volume of good food. So we divided up, the rice, the chicken in black bean sauce and the beef and mushroom. Leaving the noodles and vegetables for the next day. At a little over £53 it was a good, tasty and filling meal.

Awful takeaway! Poor customer service, and would seriously recommend never ordering online! Girl who takes the orders is extremely rude and can’t work under pressure when evenings are busy. Also accuses paying customers of lying. Far more expensive than Woodley Chef and nowhere near as nice. Only ordered here as Woodley Chef was closed, would never order from here again! 👎🏼

First time ever I have ordered a takeaway and not eaten it, it was so incredibly bland. I had the chicken chow mein and kung po chicken, they were both so lacking in flavour they could have been the same dish. Really disappointed, ended up ordering food from a different takeaway

A first class Chinese takeaway with excellent food !

We waited so long for our food we were starving and I had kids to feed. It was cold by the time it got to us so we had to heat it all up again. Very disappointed.

Stupidly overpriced food when the quality doesn’t match it. Salt & pepper chicken should not be near enough £8, it should be more like £5.50. Chips were soggy, Sweet and sour chicken balls were the smallest over ever seen.

Food was warm on arrival and everything I ordered was delivered. I ordered before 5 pm so hoped when the app said 545 pm was the earliest they could deliver they would unfortunately they let me down on that front and I had a hungry toddler so yes I would order again to hope it’s not a recurring issue and give them another chance

I ordered from Hong Kong for the 1st time. The food was hot and tasty, each eatery is a little different. Satay was not what we expected but it was fine. It was a shame that the driver was not aware or did not decide to follow the note left for delivery.

Food delivered to neighbour, but they were out (so obviously the driver did not wait for a reply). It stood on their doorstep for 30 minutes before they returned home and brought it round. Food was cold and unappealing. We won't be ordering again.

Lovely food (Peking duck was wonderful & the spicy Singapore fried rice delicious - spicy with a kick, but not overpowering). Delivery was quick - faster than estimated & the price fabulous. Would definitely recommend & would order again. A very reasonable minimum order £££ to qualify for delivery too, some of the other restaurants had a minimum delivery of nearly twice this restaurant. A+

Have to say very disappointed given other reviews. They put peas in their Singapore chowmein which they should be staying if they are as this is not typical. and they also put pineapple in with lemon chicken???? also my crispy chilli beef was not at all crispy. So unfortunately won't be returning.

Excellent satay, rice, chicken balls and dry ribs. The crispy seaweed was too sweet for our liking but was obviously cooked well. Will definitely order again.

Really good food just a little pricey, but great for a treat.

It was all really nice and delivered on time. The only complain is the chips were not a large chips that I paid for. Was definitely a small chips.
