I ordered some crispy lamb and when I opened my order at home I was beyond disappointed. The lamb was so over done and had this brittle burned texture and smelled very strongly of oil that has been reused over and over. I’ve ordered from them before and the lamb was decent but this time I had to bin the food sadly.

They really need to sort out their ordering system Walk in customers should be given priority They should also note on the order whether it is pick up or customer in store We ordered in the shop we were not given a receipt or number and our order sat in the warming oven for 20 minutes before we questioned where it was

The food is OK here but yet again...the 3rd time...I asked for veggie Singapore noodles and got chicken, prawns and ham in it. They keep doing this to me. Also, the chicken and sweetcorn soup was OK but had no corn and was more like hot and sour soup. I can't tell if the server (very distracted and on her phone) was the problem or the chef didn't read the order. In any case, it means we had to throw another dish away uneaten.

Second time in a row that we get stale food. Today we decided we would give it another go in case it was a one off but unfortunately it happened again.

Fantastic fun and friendly team. Great food. Sadly no fish tonight. But chips were outstanding 😄

Visited on a Sunday for Fish & Chips but only Chinese available. Very disappointing, I remember this place from many years ago when the quality was much, much better. The Beef with Black Bean Sauce was relatively tasteless, the sauce was little more than watered down gravy with a few black beans. The meat was tough and chewy and both meat and veg were cut in huge pieces with none of the finesse of the same dish served in a restaurant. The Mini Spring rolls were virtually void of any filling and were soft and gooey inside. The portion sizes are big and perhaps offer a sense of "good value" which may appeal if quantity is valued over quality.

This is the best fish and chips around. As we haven’t tried any of the meals I can’t rate them. But the fish and chips are lovely

Good customer service polite and friendly, good portion sizes with plenty of selection. Part of our meal were pork balls, which I found quiet tough and chewy. While waiting 3 customers came in for chips but none being served, and a order cancelled on phone because no chips available

We ordered takeaway from Oriental Wok and unfortunately was very disappointing, the people were friendly but the food was very bad. Main meals came dry with hardly any sauce and ingredients did not taste fresh, food was cold and prawn crackers were stale

Excellent food, quick (20 mins from order to pick up during peak times), often get prawn crackers & fortune cookies for free, also offered discount for paying in cash. Best fish and chips in the area Parking to collect can be challenging but so far no tickets if your quick/lucky.

Previous three start review reduced to just one star after some appalling customer service, they made a mistake refused to make it right or give a refund. Average food and bad customer service, one star overall!

Just wanted to give a local, and fair, review of this place for those looking, given we come here a lot!We come to Oriental for both Chinese and Chippy when we fancy it. Chippy is standard fare, but exactly what you are looking for. Don’t get salt and vinegar on chips though as they go abit mad! But otherwise battered sausage, scampi, nuggets, mushy peas, curry sauce and of course chips are bang on. For Chinese, hands down best prawn toast from a takeaway ever…it’s prawn French baguette and honestly it’s absolutely perfect. Various Chinese meals (beef in black bean, chicken szechuan, chicken in peanut sauce etc) all very good if a bit salty on average. Chow mein is bang on, and Singapore again very flavourful (again a little salty). Overall very good place so do give it a go if you’re looking. Just abit salty on average is pulling it down from a 5 star, but given portion sizes are GENEROUS, food is hot and consistent, this is a small issue. As said, my wife and I always go here.

Love this takeaway. Beef/Mushroom in Oyster sauce, King Prawns in Sweet n Sour sauce, chips and curry sauce with chicken fried special rice, love it, so friendly and really I have been using them for so long now, they deserve a shout out 👌

Food is terrible, too greesy , beef curry tasted like he added so much sugar, horrible sweet taste, Chicken ball battery was awful, tastes like cake batter. Chips are greesy Not sure why anyone would eat from this Chinese, Have tried twice over a period of 1 month and was just as bad both times Chinese on High Street Hong Kong 100 times better

I can honestly say I just had the worst battered sausage and chips of my life! Soggy, greasy and tasteless chips with barely any salt, the batter around the sausage was soggy and had no crisp. Curry sauce was a shambles, I feel like I got diabetes from that alone. Would not recommend.

Ordered a king prawn curry, which was very runny with no flavour and appeared to have been watered down. Prawn crackers were also stale. Cod more often than not is very dry and bland. Only good thing going for this place is the haddock (as always cooked fresh) and the chips.

We had a delicious takeaway for New Year’s Eve. Crispy aromatic duck and prawn toast for starters, king prawn and beef mains the meat was tender and juicy, probably the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had, very flavoursome and not at all stodgy like some Chinese’s can be. We’ve found our new local!

Not tried the Chinese but the fish and chips is great, best in the village and cooked fresh if you call ahead. Generous portions and good quality fish.

Had chinese . More shredded carrot than crispy beef . Sweet sour sauce waterd down.. prawns were tiny . This was not cooked fresh was heated up food . Would not reccomend and will not be returning . Standard was very poor.

I don't like Chinese but the fish and chips is good

Had fish and chips from here tonight and they were great. We especially liked the *proper* fish and chip shop type chips (not always a given!). Our cod and sausages were tasty too. Would definitely go here again. In terms of how they’re operating during Covid, there was a screen at the counter which was quite reassuring, although no way to enforce customers to maintain an appropriate distance from each other. Might be worth the shop only allowing 2 customers inside at a time, and having floor markings. My husband just used common sense and waited outside until the other customers had left.

Called in here on the way home and tried it for the first time, will not be returning. The waiting time would have been ok if the quality was up to standards. Quite bland in comparison to some of the other local takeaways. Not the worst but also far from the best.

Regularly use the Chinese, sometime the Chippy. Always excellent consistent quality and friendly service. We are extremely satisfied customers.

Went on Christmas eve. Phoned in the order and the food was waiting 10 minutes later after a check to confirm the order. Food was OK. I found the sweet and sour balls had a lot of batter which was soft and lacked taste. Chilli beef was good and spicy.

I’ve been to Oriental wok many times and normally the food is lovely and hot and tasty this time the food was stone cold it took me 8 minutes to drive home. Very disappointing

I tried to order sausage and chip here this evening and was told that I could not spend under £5 on a card. If you accept Visa and Mastercard in the UK, it is against the rules to require a minimum transaction amount. In Visa’s official rules (page 109), they state: “A Merchant must not establish a minimum or maximum Transaction amount as a condition for honoring a Visa Card or Visa Electron Card.” Visa Europe, Visa Core Rules The same applies to Mastercard, who states in their rules: “A Merchant must not require, or indicate that it requires, a minimum or maximum Transaction amount to accept a valid and properly presented Mastercard or Maestro Card.” The "Fat Fish" was happy to serve me - a 2 minute walk away:)

We have ordered from the Oriental Wok a number of times and have always been impressed with the food quality and portion sizes. Whilst other establishments in the area have dropped in quality, this place (since it has been the Oriental Wok) seems to be consistently great.

Good takeaway food, good options - nice that it's a cross between a traditional chippy and a Chinese, with Thai options. The drinks are really cold too.

I tried this place because of a recommendation. Unfortunately the food was really greasy and the chips looked like they had been re-heated in old oil. The fish and sausauge were both hard and not appertising. Maybe I was just unlucky. Probably won't eat there again.

This is an amazing taka away. Your able to phone in the order and pick it up 10 minutes later. We always visit when we're in Twyford. Portions are massive, many options including Chinese, fish / burger etc. and chips Our favourite is the sweet and sour chicken balls. They are amazing. As this take away is in the town where my son lives, we will certainly visit again.

Fish and chips served on one side and Chinese on the other. Food is tasty and the service is quick. The Chinese menu has most of the usual items you would expect to see. You can phone and place your order then collect to save waiting time

We were really pleased with our meal. It is probably the best Chinese we have had. The food was really tasty and we had sweet and sour chicken balls which were delicious. Some places they taste really fatty, but they were fresh chicken and nice batter too. The staff are really friendly too and the price is reasonable and it is what we would expect to pay. We have now found our new Chinese take away :)

living in Woodley we always drive to this Chinese as we have found it is far better than any of the ones near us in Reading. Always quick to order over the phone and it is ready to pick up when you arrive. would recommend the sweet and sour king pawns hong kong style and the satay chicken as a main dish. Generous portions too.

The Chinese takeaway from here is always excellent! Particularly the roast pork with bamboo shoots and Chinese mushrooms. And very friendly service. Great takeaway!

Discussed with my take away tonight they only half cooked my kids beansprout chow main onions rock hard they don't even give you the right potion. Very wrong to top it off they are servin food without hair covered wearing clothing that ain't clean no overall's need reporting to environmental health don't exen deserve a star couldn't leave a comment without 1
