We stayed over in Reading from London and happy to say the food and service was exemplary. Portions were amazing and Manager was profession (even though they were short staffed). By far the best harvester I been to and highly recommend going. A very happy (returning) customer

I love Trays Café. The food is excellent and the ambience is really lovely. All the staff are very nice & helpful. Barr’s Yard is a lovely place to wander around afterwards.

A lovely little spot that provides delicious food in a very comfortable and relaxed environment. Every member of staff we dealt with was warm and impeccably polite and they all took great care of us. It really proves that tapas can work for British food and that you need not commit to one big slab of fish or meat per person when you can instead try all the dishes and their clever flavour combinations, our stand outs were the fish and artichoke from the specials and the beef carpaccio. It is also worth leaving room for dessert as the selection is much the same, delicious, thought out and worth trying every single one!

Absolutely fantastic pub set in such a beautiful location. We reserved a table but when we got there the outside seating area looked lovely with everyone sat in the sun. The staff were more than happy for us to move outside and we are glad we did. The food was outstanding! It's the best meal we have had in a long time. We are food snobs! We started with the Korean chicken starter, which was delicious. Spicy and tender. The roast was just amazing. The meat was tender, roast potatoes crispy, gravy silky and tasty and a not too crispy Yorkshire pudding. The veg they served for 3 people was a fantastic portion. We were all absolutely stuffed. My husband had the chicken burger and said it was out of this world! We will definitely be coming back when we are in the area next. Also super dog friendly and there was plenty of space for our dog to chill out

What a fabulous find this place is. Friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and the food is exceptional. And I really do mean exceptional. The pies are actually made on premises and are packed to the brim with meat. None of your puff pastry lids floating on a sea of gravy here. The chateaubriand, cooked to perfection, was the best I've had anywhere. The vegetables were delicious. Stayed in the Desert Orchid room which has a large, very comfortable bed. The pictures tell you everything you need.(Recommended). We'll be coming back again soon, for sure.

They have recently changed hands I believe - but the new owners did not disappoint. Give them a try.
