The best restaurants serving Default food in Godalming Central and Ockford Waverley South East

I ordered a steak today and it was amazing and tender! I was able to meet the chef Charlie I think it was? Luckily was able to catch her as she went to the talk to the bar staff. And was able to pull her to one side where she told me she was the grill chef. Of which I told her that it was the best steak I’ve ever had! Absolutely amazing food!

We had Sunday lunch. Food was nice and quick. Both the people who serviced us were friendly and helpful. Jordan made us feel welcome and Ella helped make a great choice on desert 😋 Would go again

A very friendly pub with major sport events being shown on TV. Also most weekends they have local bands playing live music. Bar staff are brilliant and you are always guaranteed a wonderful night out

I received motor paneer instead of aloo motor. Which I could not eat because I am currently dairy free.

Very small portions and expensive

A great place for a team celebration at the end of the season. The Godalming Prezzo has a private room perfect for up to 15 people. We had a great night - food was excellent and really quick to arrive, staff were helpful and friendly. All the empty plates told their own story.

I am a student at the college and this used to be my favourite cafe to sit and do my work in. I went in on my birthday to join my friends who were sitting upstairs, since I booked for a restaurant in town an hour later (there were 6 of us). We sat down for a second and one of the members of staff told us to buy something or leave, which was reasonable, however his attitude was not pleasant. Me and one of my friends went to buy something and he proceeded to tell my other friends to leave in a very rude and passive aggressive way. 3 of my friends went to get something from their cars and when they returned the same member of staff literally turned them away at the door, despite one of them purchasing food earlier. Bear in mind it was freezing and getting dark outside, with still 20 minutes till our booking. We decided to leave to be with our friends who got turned away and the man started counting us as we walked out and then said ‘that’s all of them’ as if we were causing trouble? All we did was sit down for my birthday. Very disappointed that my favourite cafe has been ruined for me, especially as it was my birthday. Won’t be returning soon.

Absolutely lovely. Decent menu. Owner's breakfast, switched out bacon for speciality beans for the best breakfast I've had out in years. Coffee also wonderful. Bravo team!

So we booked a table for 4 on Valentines night (friends who haven't been able to get together due to work/life commitments). Our greeting was a bit lacklustre, we were shown to our seats with a I couldn't care less attitude!! It carried on from there! As soon as we were given the menus, we were asked if we were ready to order! We asked for a few more minutes (so we could actually look at the menus that had been given to us). When our drinks order arrived, I had to send back a wine glass that has lipstick all around the rim and when I complained the girl stared at me and I had to explain that obviously it wasn't mine as no wine had been poured into it and I wasn't wearing lipstick!! The next problem was when our starters arrived. They bought over starter starting was ours, but it wasn't (the server had got the order wrong altogether). We then waited for what seemed to be ages for two of the starters (the others had arrived without a problem). We also requested water when ordering our wine but had to chase to receive that. The four of us were completely disappointed with our experience and doubt we would be back for a while. The food was okay, but the service was shocking.

The service was very bad. We had to get up from our table to place our orders. Not being very hungry, I only ordered a side: the tomato salad (according to the menu with basil and shallots) was awful. Not only were the tomatoes absolutely tasteless, they were cold (tomatoes are never put in a fridge) and they were served without shallots. Still hungry, I ordered (by going up to the bar to do so) a starter, bread with an almond romesco dip. I had to wait for about 20 minutes to be served with tasteless stale bread. I was not enamoured by the dip, but that may be because it was not to my taste, so please try for yourself.

There is simply nothing to praise about this place, the staff or the food. Avoid. Having served bottles of beer it took over an hour to get any attention and another hour before food was delivered to the table. The rushed and slightly grumpy owner of the place was assisted by a scruffy looking person in a basball hat; a person with a “not my place mate, I’m only helping out” uninterested attitude.
